I bought a Dyson V 10 in July 2025. since then I have had such a horrible experience trying to push the red lever to detach the stick so that I could empty the rubbish container. it is a HIT and MISS situation. the sales people will say it must be vertical n 90% straight otherwise it will not unlock. I have tried and tried. Trust me i have made… Read more

it straight , put it on my kitchen top so it would be straight, stand it up vertically ...its a hit and miss. some days, it slides off easily. other days ( more often than not) it just refuses to unlock. yes, the red lever shows its down but the stick refuses to dislodge. its just not worth. the machine should dislodge easily. I feel as if I have been scammed. I am at such a loss. not even 6 months and I m left with a dud vacuum.cleaner. there should have been a warning when I purchased the vacuum cleaner. Maybe I just am so unlucky. bought the one vacuum cleaner which wasn't quality checked by the factory.

Wow wow wow, old is not a problem with this machine, I can zip around and vacuuming done and I don’t have to stress about where my wife with Alzheimers is. Money well spent, worth every penny for peace of mind and it works so well also, be daring. Show reply

Not worth the money – Have had the V10 for just over three years. The battery and filters have been replaced and now it no longer works at all. Dyson advised i need to replace the motörhead itself which is the main part. The suction on carpet wasn’t great. I feel like for the amount paid it should last more than 3 years. I only use it for a very small apartment. Show details

The main filter had issues after 3 months – The machine automatically stops. Dyson gave me a new filter. Literally, the main part of the machine can not work properly. Hope the new one will last. Suggest not buying this model if you can avoid it. Show details

Prefer my original old upright – Bought for us by our children, my husband wanted one from all the hyped advertising... The Battery life is disappointing, we cant get through our house before having to recharge, and if using turbo, a couple of rooms only. I have loved Dyson they are ahead of the rest, but do not understand the button without an option to leave it on, firstly it… Read more

hurts your finger, is not a good design, and if doing the whole house (after recharges) I end up with two blisters one on the finger holding button and then top of thumb where the barrel rubs on your hand...

So luckily my husband now does the vacuuming..

I had to ask my husband to open and empty, no matter how many times i read the instructions didn't makes sense

Cleans well, both tiles and carpets .. just disappointed with design

Good vacuum that doesn't last long – Bought a brand new V10 in mid 2019 (AUD $700) and it is now basically useless (mid 2023). Full battery only lasts about 5-10mins, the plastic handle has been broken for at least a year (which leaves sharp bits that poke your hand when holding), and one of the spring latches on the solid pipe section has been broken for about a year as well. It… Read more

stays in most of the time, as long as you don't lift the vacuum too much. When new, it worked great and coming from a corded vac, this was much more convenient. But the battery not lasting 10mins has made it pretty much useless now. A bit of a shame for such an expensive vacuum. I was expecting it to last much longer and especially the battery, which Dyson marketed as being extremely long lasting when we bought. Very disappointed and won't be wasting money on a Dyson again.

This product won't last more than 3 years ,more than the product I'm happy with the customer service, – This product designed to work 2 to 3 years!! be sure!! but very pleasant experience with Dyson customer service, very nice attitude ! I used mine which bought from Harvey more than two years ago for discounted price at $900 and now exactly two month after warranty it stops working and the issue is the power trigger which is broken, when I… Read more

It's not picking up well and battery runs out very quickly – My machine doesn't clean properly at all and also the battery runs out so quickly. I contacted support and followed all the steps they suggested (even after I clean the machine on regular basis) but it didn't make any difference so they suggested to replace the filter which I did but still the same. I contacted support today and they said machine… Read more

is just out of warranty and I have to pay $149 to replace the battery. It's so poor that machine only works well during the warranty period and start having issues straight after that. Also, When I contacted support initially they said we will look after you if replacing filter doesn't resolve the issue but not they are saying I have to pay the service fee and have to take the machine to the service centre etc. I thought Dyson customer service is great but haven't had the good experience especially this is the second time I contacted them. First time was when I was suggested to replace the filter. If Dyson is charging premium for their machine, I expect the great customer service also.

Very disappointing – I use it on tiles and carpet. Before all the issues it did work well but that was short lived for the money. I have had Dyson for years and bought the V10 after my older one died when it was about 8 years old. It had been fantastic and never had an issue. However my V10 after about 8 months the battery would run out after about 10 minutes on low… Read more

speed. Dyson replaced it under warranty which was great. Just after it ran out of warranty the trigger wouldn’t allow me to stop the machine, it just kept going. I called and was going to have to pay to have it repaired which I was not happy about as it shouldn’t have occurred at this stage of its life. You pay a lot of money and didn’t last. They ended up ordering me a new body as I had endured a most unhelpful staff member in Fairfield Brisbane when I was going to leave it for repairs. It’s now a month later and they can’t locate the new body. They say it’s been posted but no one can find it. They say they will get someone to call me as to what is happening and now another week later no one has called. I have just called again and assured that someone will call me. Just appalling. I know things take longer with staff shortages etc but I will never spend the money on another Dyson again. They are not what they used to be. I am just very disappointed that I have had to just keep chasing them. The call centre staff are very nice and I know they are doing what they can but it’s the behind the scenes that are letting the service down, so frustrating. It shouldn’t be this difficult. Just make contact with me to advise where my new vacuum body is and when I may eventually receive it, please!

Fails after 3 years modest use – Hard floor Motorhead failed after 3 years modest use (twice a month) Dyson refuse to repair or replace unless for a price - quoted more than a couple of hundred dollars! to keep paying then they fall over themselves to help! Do NOT purchase a Dyson, it’s a scam to keep getting more money out of you despite paying more than a thousand dollars for an inferior product that will not last a reasonable amount of time. My old Electrolux is still going strong after 10 years and it cost 1/6 the amount of the Dyson Hugely disappointed ☹️

Dyson V10 Motorhead Superb Cleaner – This Dyson V10 Motorhead was purchased from Kogan at the best price in town and it does the best cleaning job ever. I use it on carpets, curtains and furniture. It works continuously on medium for about 60 minutes.

Not worth the money – Both hard floor and carpet this vacuum struggles, it only picks up crumb size items and often spits it back out from the tumbling rollers. The filters get clogged up all the time needing constant cleaning themselves. Battery life is not long on full power. For a $1000 from Dyson I was expecting a lot more efficiency from their leading product.  Show details

Excellent vaccum cleaner – Have this vaccum cleaner for 3 months now . It is a great vaccum cleaner and I wish I have purchased it way earlier . Can not live without one now . We have two vaccum cleaners , one is the Dyson V10 and the other is a Miele C3 which is also top of the range . We have a big house . Mainly tile . since purchase of the Dyson V10 I have only used… Read more

the Miele 2-3 times .

It is strong . For tile I use the max power and even with max its battery last more than enough to go through all around the house .

For rugs or carpets I use the lowest power as the vaccum is too strong and lowest power is perfect for them without lifting them up from the ground .

It is not heavy . It is so easy to go through every corner and you are not limited to the length of your cord . You will wonder how quick you can vaccum compare to the other vaccum cleaners .

I have installed the wall stand unit and it charges automatic , always ready to use .

If your house is not a mess , not left unvaccumed for ages , the dust bin size is more than enough and it is so easy to empty it into your bin .

Filter is great . So easy can be removed and you can wash it with water which saves money .

Only negative point : if you want to vaccum larger items like cheetoz puffs it can not pass through the dust bin and that is why I have used my Miele 2-3 times in the last three months .

dyson is like a lifesaver – I definitely have to give Dyson a nice comment about their products because it cleans my whole house in less than 20 minutes . I use it daily it's less noisier than the previous models and it will definitely last very long time. I know it' more expensive than the other brands but I am sure if it's worth it Show details

Brilliant Vacuum – Brought this vacuum years ago and I am still extremely please with it! It does a fantastic job of cleaning - great suctioning. So easy to use around the house, that alone is such a bonus to it. Have found it very easy to maintain also. The only flaw would be the battery life isn't as long as I would have liked it to be, though all the PROs highly outweigh the cons in my opinion. Personally, really recommend this product. Show details

Easy to use – I had always heard about the amazing Dyson but never owned one. After an accident interferred with the use of my right arm, I thought I am going to get a cordless vacuum, as that task is hard enough without dragging around and manouvering a regular vacuum. me wron it has wonderful pick up and is so easy to use, I love it. However it does not cope with a full housework and waiting for it to recharge at times I can start to go into winde down mode and lose my mojo to finish the job. The most frustrating machine I have ever owned – I would not recommend this machine it needs constant stripping down (using a special screwdriver head not supplied) as it constantly has a warning to clean the filters after only minutes of use. Not worth the money – Had for just 12 months as it was purchased as a present for us. Had the original dyson for over 10 years and loved it. No cord means I vacuum more often! – I was tossing up between getting the cheaper V7 and the V10. I am SO glad I chose the latter. The extra time I get from the V10 battery is a huge plus. It means I charge the machine less, and it means I got a bigger dust bin, so I don't need to empty it so regularly. I had read a lot of negative or critical reviews regarding the Dyson brand, so I… Read more ·  1

was skeptical but I'm sold on the brand now. The V10 has plenty of suction power to clean my tiled floors and my carpeted areas of the house. When needed, I can put it into a higher suction mode, but I rarely ever need to do that. The Motorhead version comes with three fittings, which is all I need. It's a great vacuum cleaner that I'd recommend to anyone. It is slightly heavier than the V7. So if that is a problem, I'd advise getting the V7. However, the battery life on the V10 is much better. Which is why I chose this model. It's super easy to clean and manoeuvre. The ball head technology makes it a dream to vacuum in between chair legs or around corners. When you release the power trigger, it makes a "Boingggg" noise. This is completely normal and something that Dyson deliberately did when building it (it's like a marketing tactic). Don't worry if you hear it. There's nothing wrong with your V10.

Doesn't filter expelled air well – Bought a V10 Motorhead (AUG '19) to replace the old V6 which has been great but I think I needed something a bit more powerful as its the only vacuum I use. substantial amount of "fluff" on the detachable filter and thought it was strange because the lady from Good Guys said it only needed washing very 3 months. I think the issue is that the cyclone is not filtering the smallest particles properly and its getting blown back into the room. I've checked that the vacuum is put together correctly etc etc but the filter always gets fluff on it?? Used my old V6 again and it seems to clean the air better, no runny nose!? Conclusion- Suction is great but on max it lasts the same as the V6 and the V6 I feel captures fine particles better.
