Died in less than 10hrs – This is not the exact vaccuum, but i cant find it anywhere on this site. I bought the $99 contempo cordless vacuum. In less than 10hrs, the motor has started making a death rattle after previously being almost silent. Should have spent the money and got a dyson.... Show details
Very disappointed with the new black model - terrible design – The original blue vacuum cleaner was exceptional and have bought two over the years. I needed to purchase another one and there is a new model - Black now replacing the blue model. They have got the new design totally wrong. The release switch to empty the unit sits too close to the unit making it difficult to get a grip to us the release… Read more
switch. Also the lock lever that holds the handle in place does not lock down properly and it flips up and the handle comes loose so have had to lock it on with a rubber band. The suction is still exceptional for the size and cost but the rest is a failure. Would not recommend it at all. Also the attachments are hard to get on and off without putting a foot on the head to prize it off the unit
Mainly used on vinyl, mats and a small amount of carpet which the suction works well apart from the design.
Design flaw – My initial praise for this otherwise excellent little vacuum cleaner proved to be premature when I noticed that the dirt collected trapped itself at the top of the filter and the casing where the gap between the two is minimal. This was quickly blocking the filter before the container was even a quarter full. As cleaning the filter so frequently… Read more
began to annoy me I made a small modification and now the dirt collected doesn’t get trapped at the top of the filter.
600W, Great suction. Exceed expectation! – As I have a weak suction vacuum cleaner at home (bought from a well-known specialty store) and hard to clean, and also always kink with hair. Since then, I've been looking for a decent, affordable vacuum intermittently online. Luckily, this product came across to me while looking for other branded vacuum cleaners. Based on the price and high… Read more
rating, I gave it a try and it absolutely brilliant. It does its job perfectly not only on the wooden floor but cleans the cut pile carpet quite well (other than using a rubber broom to clean up excess hairs).
Cleaning the filter is fairly easy that you brush the fold in running water as instructed in the user manual.
Overall, this item is nearly perfect if improve in quality built and offer more accessories (brush). I believe that it will sell higher than its original price.

Good for the price – Bought this for $32 3 years ago for our hardwood floors. It’s still going but the suction is starting to suffer. We have since bought a thick pile rug, the vacuum doesn’t do so great on it, but with a bit of persistence it does an ok job. It’s lightweight and easy to manoeuvre. The 2in1 function means that it turns into a dustbuster easily. It… Read more
also comes with a second filter for when you need to wash the current one. It’s not overly noisy either.
Downside is that it’s really only good on hard floors and it needs emptying quite regularly.
All in all, it’s a great little gadget for the price. I would buy again.
Works surprisingly well – For $30 I can't complain much. It does the job, and the cord is long enough so that I don't need to frequently plug and unplug. Lightweight and easy to use. It has some minor broken parts after 3 years of using, but still functioning well. When it's unusable, just buy another one. Just the vaccum head is difficult to pull out when I want to clean. Not as good as the original – When the first model first came out I was so very happy with it. The little blue stick did everything, was very affordable and easy to use. All my friends bought at least one. Now, 3 years later, having moved house and lost mine, I find a new model which is just not the same. The head would not stay attached to the body of the vacuum no matter how… Read more
hard I pushed it in, until in desperation I jammed a hair scrunchy around the stem. Now I have to leave it there and use a second unit for the car. The head also no longer has a straight edge to dislodge dirt, which I found so useful before, although the suction is every bit as good as the original. Once again a great product has been given to geek designers who just love to interfere and make things difficult for the user. Although it is still a good product, my advice is to ditch this new design and go back to the start.

Held together with duct tape and cable ties! – This vacuum has great suction but keeps falling to bits! I've had it replaced twice but straight out of the package before I've even used it, it keeps falling apart.. I thought I was doing something wrong but was assured by staff.. no that's just the product! I've been holding it together with duct tape and cable ties. Show details
Is mine the only one where the handle comes off every 5 minutes? – So the suction is great, I'll give it that. But you can't adjust the suction, and with the head having NO brushes, I could see it doing some real damage to hardwood flooring. My issue is that the flimsy catch that's supposed to secure the extension pole to the Dustbuster fails to do so. I'm left with the option of throw the pole and head away and just keep it as a Dustbuster, or get some liquid nails and fix the pole on permanently. Show details
Absolute rubbish – Exceptionally noisy, very small suction head with poor suction power and hard to use. I bought it by reading all the other fantastic reviews and given the price. Turned out to be a complete rubbish. Yeah, it's cheap but you still be wasting $29 for no good reason. Show details

A vacuum for smooth surfaces, not carpet – I purchased the following product through Big W, a Contempo 2 in 1 Corded Stick Vacuum Cleaner. It is a lightweight vacuum with an extra-long cord and comes with a spare filter. The vacuum can be detached to use as a handheld which is great for using on lounges or areas where an upright or barrel vacuum won't reach. It works well on tiles,… Read more
vinyl and wood floors. On carpet it is not very effective, especially if you are trying to vacuum up long hair off carpet. There is nothing on the vacuum foot which helps to catch hair, so it always glides over the hair strands. Very disappointing!
Best little unsung hero vac ever, never loses suction – So happy to finally be able to review this as I tried 11 years ago when I accidentally "discovered" one reduced to clear in woolies for $19 and thought I would get for my nearly 3 year old daughter to "help" mummy. WELL!! What a life changer!! Blew my and dust buster clean out of the water with its suction and amazing ability to suck dirt and dust… Read more
out of floor/wall joins, corners, screens, and any fiddly places with its nozzle tool. Super long cord and filter easily cleaned by banging top end with a strong brush (i bought a dish brush for this purpose) outside to release dust particles and brushing over surface of filter brings it up like new!!. I got another one! And would use secondary one to Suck dust out of 4 dirty filters to easily clean. Got a 3rd for my Guinea pig cage. The original one I used multi times a day for 6 years and it was still going strong. As were other 2...until we lost everything in a house fire. I then bought 2 more, and gifted to at least 5 friends and family members over time. Then out of stock everywhere. Left last 2 behind as separated from partner and bought 3 of "latest" design. Original blue was better build but black still has amazing suction. I've probably bought at least 12 of these in last 11 years and only one was defective, motor burnt out within 2 uses..so a lemon and not indicative of product. Easily got replacement/refund from big w. Honestly 2 filters (do not wash , just brush and tap to remove debris) 2 year warranty , under $30...best product ever and they NEVER lose suction. Clip has gone on a few, gaffa works well and The ones that broke (daughter dropped) I kept the parts and filters to use in new one. Still use my current 2 daily. Excellent for corners ect with nozzle, nothing beats. Love this little ripper. I actually talked a gentleman at Stafford big w into buying one when I was and I wonder if this review above is him *edit: I noticed one review mentioned debris getting trapped at top of canister in small space between filter and end: minor issue and I figured a fix years ago, just use a wooden skewer to dislodge and tap lightly over bin. Voila!! Problem solved!!

Great little vacuum cleaner – Love the suction on this machine, picks up a lot of pet hair for its size. Filters are easy to get on eBay. Used on tiles and mats. Show details
0 Regrets Purchase – This thing is unbelievably nifty and lightweight. Bought this simply because my pull along vacuum was too heavy. No issues with it being corded, just affix an extension lead and you're good to go. 0 regrets with this purchase.
Filter – This is a good. little vaccum cleaner but only one. Majer falt. You can not get a replacement filter. So although washable. They only last 2 to 3 washes. Then they are useless. So you have to throw away a perfectly good vaccum Show details
Good Suction but product life is short – Very good for suction. So light and easy to use. However it needs to empty a bit often. And it only last for 1.5 years. But I wouldn't complaint paying $30 for 1.5 years use Show details
Sizing – I’m looking at getting one, I just need to know how tall it is please and is it cordless and bagless or just bagless, I live in a 2 bedroom house and I need a response ASAP Thanks in advance Will possibly buy one on monday Show details
Still Purring – After 12 months of regular use this beautiful blue beast is still kicking strong. Granted I've cleaned the replacement filter a couple of times to increase it's ability to draw in messy house debris, but nothing stops this little blue bugger doing business. Still makes me smirk when I think about the $800 dyson sitting half abandoned in the… Read more
kitchen cupboard. The Dyson is always tangled with hair and has a battery that lasts less than 20 minutes.
Corded vacuums are back in a big way baby & Contempo 2 in 1 is leading the charge
Great value stick and hand vacuum – For the price this is a great 2 in 1 vacuum, hand and stick. The suction is fabulous and rivals my Nilfisk! Small enough to use every day so I don’t have to drag my Nilfisk out! It comes with one spare filter but you can extend its life by covering it in a stocking. I’ve still got mine on after 2 years! Would definitely recommend ... Show details
Big w I am not finding this product anywhere in stores or online please help – I bought blue one last year and I loved it due to it is sturdy body make and good suction compared with kmart one $29. But very sorry they replaced this good product with black colour bad body style , non sturdy vacume. Its metal handle comes off again and again. I need it using while standing. Its mouthpiece stuck upward on floor surface so… Read more
untill I dont push it down again and again it , it dont sucks anything. Could you please help me find this blue one if it is still somewhere in stock.
This vaccuum cleaner really sucks! in a good way! – This vaccuum cleaner really sucks! in a good way!, i am amazed. for 30 bucks, and only 600watts, she does the job for my little place. carpet always left clean. it always picks up all the dust and dirt. happy customer. it just..works. Wow the suction on this $29 vac is amazing... 100% reccomend – Used on carpet then onto lino perfect ... did great job still blown away over its performance a very great buy wont dissapoint you at all easy empty of filter and vac Show details
Little monster – It’s fantastic little vacuum cleaner for small places. This handy little monster does the job very well. I use it for both hard surfaces and on carpet. Both working well. Show details
Sucks harder than an airplane toilet – I think I have actual love for this vacuum. I never leave reviews but I feel like more people need this in their lives. Less than $30 and I prefer it to my boyfriend's expensive hoover! They've updated it now with an extra sucky attachment and hooks to wind the cables around which was my only complaint before... Such great suction. I have two! Show details
How is this so cheap? – I bought one of these from Big W Stafford in July after moving to a small 1br unit and downsizing. I half expected it to break within a month, but 4 months on and it’s still going strong. It has good suction, is light and easy to store away if you’re short on space as the handle and body pull apart into 3 sections. I’ve just decided to use it… Read more
with a powder carpet deodorizer for once, and emptied the canister several times at intervals however it’s currently overheated now (which it’s never done before after being used 1-2 times every week) and won’t turn on again. After leaving it to cool down in front of a fan for 15 mins it’s now working normally. The vacuum also comes with 2 filters.
Edit: 3.5 years later and I am still using this vacuum cleaner!
Useless without replacement filters – Useless without replacement filters. Use to use everyday now cannot filter to dirty cleaning destroying filter. Was great product now collecting dust and not in a good way. FIX PROBLEM Show details
Cheap and works amazingly well – I had been debating whether to sink hundreds of dollars to replace my cordless vacuum that may only last a couple of years (due to battery losing its charge). Saw these reviews and decided to try it out, since it's only $29. And OMG it blows my mind. Pros: Good & strong suction. Cheap. Not heavy. Has a spare filter for replacement if needed. Can… Read more
convert to handheld vacuum. Corded so no need to worry about battery replacement Cons: small bin so not suitable for big house or have to frequently empty/vacuum. I vacuum weekly for my 2 bedrooms/bathrooms unit so only need to empty once at the end. Corded. VERY LOUD so not good for pets who scared of them. Look, before spending hundreds of $$ on a vacuum, try this. Its only $29. If you are not satisfied, you can use it for your garage or a small room instead
Ok for the price – I bought it based on the reviews here as I had problem deciding which vacuum cleaner to buy that does not cost too much. I used this on my tiled floor and it performs well except for the noise and non swivelling head. I am not too happy about this so I will continue my quest for a reasonably priced cordless stick vacuum.
Cheap but OK – I bought this vacuum based off reviews on here so I thought I'd give one myself. You get what you pay for. For the price the suction is surprisingly good, it does pick up a lot of dust which is excellent. However the plastic is cheap and flimsy, and the head cracked the first time we were trying to get it on. We've kept it to use in the kitchen… Read more
as a handheld vacuum - cleaning up small messes, but I would not recommend for the rest of the house.
Not a bad vacuum for the price but if you're willing to spend a bit more definitely do.
Bang for your buck – We have owned a Ryobi Vacum and then an expensive Dyson V7. And by far the $29$ Big W Contempo is the best of the two. "Not everything that is expensive is good". This product is a true reminder of this theory. It's light weight, compact, powerful and does the job. Good on carpets and tiles. I think I am going to buy another one as a reserve. Show details
Amazing tiny vacuum cleaner – Its small but very powerful i just bought and tested in the bedroom it sucks the hair and dust well in the carpet, the bathroom tiles cleaned in like 15seconds. Makes vacuuming a breeze. Only con is its tiny so u might empty it often but that doesnt bother me. Show details
