Paid $14.50 but worthless – 1st loaf came out reasonable after I fought to get it out, had to turn machine on side and shake like crazy and pull hard. 2nd loaf i used a packet mix and it came out about 4cm high and a solid block( tossed it in bin). 3rd loaf stopped 45 minutes into cycle so had to restart from beginning, then would not open under any circumstances , had to… Read more
use an electric screwdriver to remove the bottom and move the belt a few revolutions , plus lots of muscles and shaking it like crazy. Bread was fair when removed. 4th loaf required door to be wedged shut as program kept pausing and door was shaking all over the place, then when cooked came out like burnt heavy pebbles , see picture. 5th loaf came out pale ( despite being cooked on dark) and not well risen, wet and sticky with lumps of dry flour on it. Tried to review on their website but clearly they WON'T POST ANY REVIEWS that are HONEST AND UNFLATTERING. Paid $14.50 plus $19.90 postage plus wasted many hours and ingredients. I've given up on this defective machine and ordered a Panasonic. The pictures are of so called completely cooked loaves.
Great "trial" machine – I purchased this because of the price to test if I really wanted a new bread machine. (I had one years ago, when kids were at school, but eating less bread now). It makes a half loaf only. Has only one choice, plus a gluten free option (which works well). For normal loaf,I use laucke bread mix and it works very well. This machine was made to be a… Read more
'nespresso bread machine' Meant for a bread "cassette" or pod - not available in Australia. This means that you need to fill the water tank, and it will add 200ml water for each loaf. So adjustments need to be made. I adapt the amount of bread mix and yeast to fit with that amount of water. Makes the half loaf beautifully. Yes, the paddle stays in the loaf...as per most machines...but obviously a larger hole is made in a smaller loaf after removal of paddle It isn't really possible to do anything else with it (unless you work out exactly when to stop, remove , add etc manually. But at the price, this is a great trial (I believe I will get a new machine...eventually... because I miss being able to set to dough etc). Unit is large for what it does, ...but if you have the space and can be bothered working it out, it is a bargain. Once you have worked it out, it is a breeze purchased from [weblink removed] for $14.50 plus less than $10 postage.

Apparently this bread maker was designed to be a ‘capsule machine’ system, for making bread. Please continue to read my review about this.
Pros: It makes bread.
Cons: Capsule Bread Machine. Capsules unavailable to purchase. Small loaves. Very limited menu options. It only makes bread.
The Singer Easy Bread, bread making machine is a capsule machine. Although capsules are not available.
After using this machine for a few times it is very apparent that it’s sole purpose was a system to be used with an already measured dry pre mix bread ingredients capsule. The good news is that It’s adaptable to use without.
It mixes, kneads, bakes bread. As all bread making machines are designed to do. So in this regard, yes it’s a product fit for purpose, even though it’s limited.
First look at the appliance, It has a lid where you lift and insert the capsule (which aren’t available) It has a water tank at the rear of the machine, much like a Nespresso coffee machine. It also has a pull out drawer where the non stick mixing bowl sits. No lift up lid like a typical bread making machine. No lid window to view the bread making progress.
From my research and understanding this machine was designed to add a bread mix capsule and press start, and the machine will pierce the capsule and then slowly add the warm water that’s in the water tank, into the internal mixing & baking tin/bowl.
If you’re wanting to make bread dough only, to have the dough for bread rolls, focaccia, pizza, etc in this machine, this bread making machine doesn’t have any menu options for this, so you literally have to constantly go check the cycle of the bread making process to make sure you are able to turn off the machine before it goes to the baking cycle.
Re: Capsule System Design: I wasn’t aware of the fact that this machine was made for pre mix bread making capsules.. which don’t even exist anywhere to purchase. I’m not sure why the capsules aren’t available but forget about looking for the capsules for this machine. Singer didn’t provide this information on the product description via the Click Frenzy sale. I thought it was the same as any other bread machine, just considerably cheaper. Yes, it was extremely cheap in price but I would prefer to pay more money and have the available options that most bread machines have compared with this one which only has a variable timer option, not anything else.
Singer have attempted to make adaptations to the original intended capsule process for making bread in this machine by providing recipes for measuring the dry and wet ingredients. So not all is completely lost as far as “what to do”.
Making bread from pre mix bread packets, I discovered that this machine will only take 300gm - 360gm of dry ingredients & that’s half of the pre mix packets. So the simplicity of emptying 1 x 600gsm pre mix from the supermarket isn’t going to work, you’ll have to measure out half of that and put away the remaining half of unused bread mix.
The next downfall is that the water minimum in the water reservoir is 400ml, which is too much water for the Singer specified 300gsm dry mix, if you’re ONLY wanting to make dough because it’s a mushy sticky wet mess. So I had to keep manually adding more dry mix until it looked reasonable, sticky without looking like a mud puddle. The process of using this bread maker, is for me, frustrating.
I have owned 2 bread making machines before (Sunbeam & Panasonic) and loved the convenience, for making bread dough, & making & baking a loaf of bread in the machine. Unfortunately the Singer ‘Easy Bread’ machine isn’t as easy nor convenient as the previous 2 bread machines I’ve had.
YouTube Video: Search for the words “Easy Bread Machine “ on YouTube and you’ll discover an American brand name: Salton Easy Bread Machine - which is identical to this machine. I’m assuming that Singer are just selling it and didn’t actually make this machine? There’s only 2 videos I could find related with Easy Bread Machine. Obviously the design was a flop & wasn’t popular. Anyway, I’m disappointed and will probably gift this to my mum or someone once I get myself a better bread making machine.
Would I recommend? Personally I’m not happy with this machine, but if you’re willing to accept that it’s extremely limited with options and functionality, then by all means get yourself one at an extremely affordable price point!
Instructions to use the Singer Easy Bread maker machine via the company website:
Bread Maker Instructions: To make basic bread follow these steps: 1. Fill the water tank with lukewarm water (35c – 40c) to a minimum level (400ml). 2. Open the drawer, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and a pinch of salt. 3. Add 360g bread flour + 7g dry yeast into the bowl. 4. Close the drawer and press “Start”.
Feel free to pop me any questions below & I will do my very best to answer your questions. I will most likely do a short video at a later date and include it here.
Photos: Last photo is a screenshot from a YouTube video that I found, showing how the capsule bread machine was originally intended to be used (for illustration purposes only)
