Hello, I have had the vacuum for about 2.5 years, and there is a major issue with the product. The identical, critical failure in the navigation and mapping system recurring exactly 12 months after the initial fix strongly indicates an unresolved systemic defect within the device's core firmware or localization logic. This is not typical wear and… Read more

tear; it suggests the initial 'fix' was a temporary software patch that failed to address a fundamental flaw in how the robot handles memory, map data, or sensor calibration over time. As a persistent, underlying defect, it should be addressed regardless of the standard warranty period.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT OR ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY – I would never buy from this company again. It is a $800 vacuum that lasted only 8 months. After using the device for 8 months, one wheel started slowing down causing the ECOVAC Deebot N8 Pro to say it is not working. We went onto their website for troubleshooting (spin the wheel) which worked. We continued to do this weekly, untill about 11… Read more

months, when it was done daily. Now at 13 months, the ECOVAC Deebot N8 Pro stopped working altogether.

I went through customer service explaining the above they flatly said that due it being past the warranty day they will not repair, replace or refund it (even explaining it had stopped working properly 5 months before). They said it would cost 300 dollars for them to potentially have a look at it, and did not say it would even be fixed.

This company is a joke and any business that sells this product should be ashamed..

Terrible robot cleaner! Would not recommend! – I bought this deebot thinking it would help with vacuuming the house. The first couple months were great, however then suddenly the map started being displayed skewed and it suddenly added extra spaces to my map. I then tried to remap several times and reset the robot on numerous occasions, but the map kept being skewed. To the point that I… Read more

couldn’t select a certain room to be cleaned because the map was all over the place.

I contacted Deebot and asked them to have a look at it. It was sent back for repairs and I received it back. When i got it back, it was way worse than before. I could not even set a map as every time i tried to set a map for the house it would either keep going around in circles and then run out of battery and not finish the map, or it would just randomly return to the dock. I contacted deebot again and they suggested a few things including another reset. I have done everything they suggested and the robot is so much worse than before to the point it wont even map the house. So i am unable to clean the whole house with the robot.

Our floors are polished concrete in the whole house with no rugs at all. We have no kids or pets. Everything is off the floor and there are no obstacles or stairs etc. I was initially happy with the robot for a couple of months but since these issues have happened it has been terrible. I have sent it back to deebot for repair a second time now and am still waiting to receive it back for the second time. Deebot are refusing to either refund me or to provide me with a new robot cleaner.

I would definitely not recommend this product, it has been terrible. Deebot have not been helpful in providing me with a solution. And now the robot is sent for repair i am again without a robot cleaner!

Other than that the mopping function is terrible also. It does not clean the house at all and i have stopped using it as a result. We feel that we have completely wasted our money on this product.

Great addition to our household – We have had our "Betty" for almost 12 months. She has impressed us as soon as she came out of the box. We haven't used the mop function as I personally have a Tineco for the purpose of mopping. We have used our N8 Pro on carpet and high gloss tiles. Literally keeps me quite sane in keeping the dog hair and dirt off the floor. I was confused with… Read more

the first setup of the unit with mapping as it didn't save the map when I set it up. I joined the Facebook group for the unit and the advice given was to close doors to house for initial map and then have it map the rest of the house later. As with mapping it does use more battery life than when it would cleaning, therefore this process is a bit slower to setup. But once that's out of the way, our Betty can clean our whole house in one charge (4 bed, 2 bath, 2 living)

Recently we had issues with Betty returning to dock. I took this in to Godfrey's where I purchased and they replaced the motherboard of a sensor under warranty without issue.

I have recommended this unit to a few friends of mine.

When It Works It’s Awesome - When It Doesn’t It’s Rubbish – I bought this in January 2022. I brought it home and mapped it with no issues. (I had to return the first one though). It works well as a “lick and a promise” in our busy household and allows me some downtime to the deep through clean I like to do every 4 to 6 weeks. Mapping is an issue though in our multi-level home and sometimes you have to do… Read more

techno-battle trying to get the “saved” map to come back. (See images attached) I’ve heard of others having to re-map multiple times on the Customer based support Facebook pages.

No cleaning solutions are supposed to be used in the mopping tank - water only. Though I’ve read others do use some type of cleaner made for more current Deebot Models.

The N8 does perform well on carpet, wood and Lino floors. If my floors are exceptionally dusty or dirty I will run it twice.

I would not recommend to other though, due to the mapping issue that Ecovacs can not seem to get right. This makes me strongly reconsider buying a more recent model should the need arise for our household.

Broken within warranty – After 8 months of putting up with this vacuum, it finally gave in. Front bumper has stopped working all together, and it loves to just do circles in the middle of the room. I'm actually very happy that it is broken because I am getting a full refund and get one that actually works from a different manufacturer. All the same issues as the other… Read more

Too much trouble to use – After over one year of use, it is the time to write a review. DEEBOT N8 Pro was a replacement device for DEEBOT OZMO 920 in which it had short lived battery life. The replacement of DEEBOT N8 Pro is much worse than DEEBOT OZMO 920 doing the simple room clean job. The issues I have experienced from day one are below: 1. Circling at open space… Read more

without clean it (see attached “ByPassOpenSpace.jpg”); 2. There are always issue with rug on carpet & dark line on wooden floor (see attached “IssuesWithFloor.jpg”); 3. It is always confused at front of bedroom mirror doors and then circling without clean those areas; 4. Wooden floor reflection at open space will be recognized as object and then bypass it without clean; 5. It is afraid of 2cm wooden floor drop during mapping process. Having to add 1cm wooden board to enable DEEBOT N8 Pro to pass it. In comparison, there was no any above issues with old DEEBOT OZMO 920 device! After over one year, nothing fixed by the manufacture in the software, but the performance is actually getting worse and worse after each software upgrade. It looks like that DEEBOT devices have around one year battery life. Once passed one year warranty period, battery issue will occur. We are doing weekly clean and the new battery issue we have now is that DEEBOT N8 Pro display 100% fully charged after one week standby, but it is actually not fully charged. This has resulted (every time) that it can only clean partial of the rooms as a month ago. The picture “FalseBatteryInfo.jpg” shown that battery drooped from 100% to 80% after running only 6 min to make a small 4 square meters room clean. But once battery below 100% and then fully recharged, it will back to normal as before – running 65 mins without issue. Not sure it is software issue or the hardware issue. But this is very bad as DEEBOT N8 Pro cannot perform the expected room clean job without fully charged battery. Tried evrything but the worst thing is that DEEBOT N8 Pro will not recheck and then recharge the battery without doing any clean job!

Rubbish app and rubbish vac – I have persisted with this product for over 12 months now. I can honestly tell you that I have had to remap my house more often than I have been able to vacuum it! Very happy so far – Bought the deebot N8 after my upright cordless vacuum cleaner stopped working. This is my first Robo vacuum cleaner. I even let it run whilst being out and it did the job as I scheduled. I just wished that I did not have to remove the mopping plate and could leave it on as I always feel I could break the little lugs when pulling it off.

Fantastic robot vacuum for the money! – I purchased this vacuum after reading multiple reviews and I couldn't go past it for the price. I use this daily and it has saved me so much time. need to remove the mopping pad to get it robot back to its dock which is a little annoying considering I have used the roborock s6max and it doesn't need to have the mopping pad removed to go over the carpet but there is also a big price difference between the 2 vacuums at the time of purchase. It could have slightly bigger dust bin but that's a minor problem with the robot. The app interface is easy to use and runs well without problems and it works well with Google home. I would purchase another ecovacs product.

Working very well, so far – I've got it for one day, and I have only good things to say about the vaccum. It's easy to set-up, the app is easy and the maps were created quite quickly. An Honest Review (no endorsement) – This is my first robot vacuum, I have never really seen one actively working in a family or friends house either… The house we have are hardwood floorboards with a “hint” of polish on them Oh and if the title has a + on it, it’s likely to come with an automatic emptying station!! How it performs:- This robot actually DOES work with Alexa… Read more ·  1

which I thought when I bought it wasn’t actually the case at all… so this is nice

We live on a farm that has chickens, cats, dogs and horses!! The driveway and surrounding roads aren’t sealed so you can imagine how much “dust” and animal fur gets in this house!!

It collects the animal fur reasonably well! It also picks up the dust reasonably well!!

It goes under the bed and under furniture if there is an allowance in height,

As I don’t own an automatic empty station, the bin on the vacuum can fill pretty quickly! So something to be mindful of and if the budget allows for it get the empty bin station feature!!

What dust and fur it doesn’t get is where the vacuum can’t reach, as is round it can’t exactly get close to some household edges it does try very hard to get it but it just can’t, this could be improved if the surrounding “sweepers” were a hell of lot more stronger

I have not used the moping feature as yet, but will definitely try it!!

The software the company uses to run the vacuum isn’t exactly user friendly and some people particularly those who are not tech savvy challenging and frustrating to work with being somewhat tech savvy I can handle most of it

As it is only newish the battery has been lasting quite well at around 100 minutes

If the robot clogs up it does send a message to the cleaning software but not Alexa this is the same if there is a problem with it, in terms of problems it’s only been that I haven’t emptied the bin or something like has been caught up in it like string

Definitely keep phone/technology/power cords clear of it, it can get caught up in it, I do believe the technology in this area isn’t far off from being added to the vacuums

Noise wise, well it depends on what you call noisy and what you don’t call noisy… could I be standing next to it and have a phone conversation yes but the person on the other end would be hearing it!!

The way it cleans the house does seem like it appears to “check out” which room might be cleaner but that could be the way it was mapped out

In terms of bumping into furniture… On the first round of it mapping out and work out what is furniture and what isn’t there is a bit of bumping, if the furniture stays in one place and isn’t moved it generally doesn’t bump into it after the first round of mapping is completed!! It would be enough that if a glass is full it would make the glass wobble but not fall over completely…

This little machine could upset a few pets particularly those that are very anxious until they get used to it

The technology on this has developed a lot since the robot vacuums were introduced as I remember the initial robot vacuum add and the rival company!! I am glad I waited it out until now

I am hopeful of a long lasting robot vacuum though I wish I could review more

Thanks for reading… oops don’t mind my spelling and grammar errors

This form of carpet and floor cleaning would suit some households, and be “surplus to needs” for others – I bought a far cheaper, and smaller auto-bot vacuum device about a year ago, and it’s hopeless. Even the cats don’t want to play with it. Thick carpet stopped it dead, a poor joke really. So, I needed to see some radical improvements from this latest offering. The Ecovacs Deebot N8 Pro is a far different kettle of domestic bliss. Most of our… Read more ·  2

house is carpeted. The wet areas have a hard cork tile finish. Surprisingly, the Deebot N8 works better on our thick carpet, than it does on the hard floors. Using the little disposable wet pads is fiddly, and far less effective than a squeegee mop or even a wet towel. No substitute for square centimetres, and a heavy human touch, it would seem. However, the carpet vacuuming is excellent. This is where this machine shines. Just like a good Dyson, the little collection bin is always full of a grey amalgam of dust, hair, paper bits and god knows what else. I have to empty the little bin every 25 minutes, or so. There is always some satisfaction in putting this matted fibre into the rubbish; our white carpets haven’t looked so clean for 10 years! I was fascinated to watch the device going about it’s duty. It “sees” the terrain very accurately, and I could customise the area I wanted it to clean easily. I was stumped trying to figure out it’s logic, regards the way it travels about. Sometimes, the software seems very silly, and other times very clever. One particular afternoon, our little Ecovacs was spending far too much time rubbing up against the largest white-goods device in the house, the fridge. Back and forth, as if it liked the interaction… I waited a full 10 minutes, before I swooped in and stopped the amorous behaviour of the Deebot. Schoolboy jokes about an elephant and a lonely ant came to mind…… The cleaner does it job at roughly one square metre per minute. Furniture legs and obstructions slow down it’s efficiency, but big empty rooms get the average up again. The associated application, via the smart phone, works very well. I can turn the device on from anywhere, and see it’s progress via the tracker memory. The online support is good (week days only), and sorted out my issue easily. The battery power lasts about 35 minutes, not enough to do the whole house, but it finds its own way back to the charger, and finishes the task after a couple of hours charging. More on-board amp/hours here would be an improvement. When the main brush or the port and starboard whisker brushes try to swallow string, wool or similar lengthy flotsam, it’s easily pulled down and set right; no biggie at all.

Do we need this expensive little device? Not really, but I’m glad to have it, as our carpets look so good lately. Just like how mowing the grass regularly makes for a great lawn, running the Ecovac regularly makes the house look clean and bright.

DEEBOT is not the best of the best Robotic vacuum, but it does the job nicely – My property size is 200 Sqm with 4 bedrooms, a lounge, a family room, a large sunroom, laundry area, 2 baths and toilets. Except for the lounge and bedrooms, all other areas are tiles. Product Delivery: I received the Ecovacs DEEBOT N8 Pro Robotic vacuum model a month before. I already have the Roborock S5 Max Robotic vacuum, so I’m comparing it… Read more ·  1

with Deebot.

Pros: 1. Quick Delivery 2. The box was packed well, and no damages during transit

Product Initial Setup: I have opened the box and set up the vacuum. It is not that harder to set up. I have downloaded the Deebot app on an Android phone. Initially, the Deebot struggled to identify my Wi-Fi because I have mesh Wi-Fi. Finally, the Deebot connected with my Wi-Fi.

Pros: 1. Basic and easy setup. Setup took 10 minutes for me (maybe due to prior experience with Robotic vacuum) 2. Dock has enough length wire to reach the Powerpoint

Cons: 1. Dock slightly bulk 2. Detecting mesh Wi-Fi with little difficulty. Unfortunately, no 5Ghz Wi-Fi is available.

Comparison: Roborock S5 Max is also easy to set up, especially the app. The app picked up the mesh Wi-Fi signal quickly, and the doc is slim compare to Deebot.

Product First Use: I operated Deebot with vacuum power to the Max mode. The Deebot cleaned only 68 minutes for the 66 Sqm size of the property. It took three times to recharge and complete the cleaning. Each time recharge took 3.5 hours. So the battery life is not great. This Deebot is suitable for 2 or 3 bedroom medium size houses but not for larger houses. Overall the cleaning is good. Pros: 1. Good Suction 2. Cleaning is good

Cons: 1. Vacuum unable to complete larger home in a single time. 2. Took charge for 3.5 hours 3. It missed a few areas to clean. 4. It struck on some areas, mainly revolving chairs and bar stools.

Comparison: Roborock S5 Max is a better choice for battery and covers the entire house with Max mode.

Map Setup: The map is not drawn the first time correctly. It took nearly ten times to get a reasonable map. I used the Vacuum power to quiet mode to draw the map to cover the entire house at one time. I’m not impressed with the map. After completion of the cleaning, the map was generated automatically and divided the areas alphabetically. However, in some areas, the map is not divided. So I don’t know how to activate those areas. Refer to the screenshot. The map required a lot of improvement.

Pros: 1. Reasonable map

Cons: 1. Couldn’t get a perfect map 2. Several times to operate the Deebot to get a reasonable map. 3. Areas are not divided properly 4. Hard to divide the areas

Comparison: Roborock S5 Max is a better choice when it comes to the map. S5 Max is not the best of the best but better than Deebot.

Vacuuming: I used to vacuum only first to test it. It is excellent with more suction, and cleaning is perfect on both carpet and tiles. The Deebot automatically changed the mode from tiles to carpet with increased suction. The only problem with Deebot is the struggle to move over on a corner rug.

Pros: 1. Great suction power 2. Perfect cleaning in bot 3. Automatically detect carpets and increased the power

Cons: 1. It is not cleaning in order and moving between multiple rooms multiple times. 2. It missed some areas to clean

Comparison: Roborock S5 Max is good in suction however, Deebot is better than S5 Max. I have operated the Deebot after the S5 Max vacuuming. Still, Deebot picked lots of dust which is impressive.

Mopping: Mopping is again reasonable. It is not the best.

Pros: 1. Ten disposable mop pads were provided, along with a reusable pad. 2. Mopping is reasonable.

Cons: 1. Mopping not evenly spreading the water on the floor

Comparison: Roborock S5 Max is good in mopping slightly better than Deebot.

Conclusion: If you have a 2 or 3 bedroom medium-sized home, this is a better option. If you have a larger property, you need lots of patience to recharge multiple times to complete the cleaning cycle. The vacuuming is perfect, and mopping is reasonable. The map required improvement. Overall, I’m recommending this product to buy.

Amazing Robot that vacuums and mops exceedingly well. Can't live without it now – I was pleasantly surprised at how good the Deebot N8 Pro robot actually is. It is intelligent, very effective at vacuuming and by regularly cleaning your floors with daily vacuuming I think this could do 98% of my mopping permanently. I feel like I cannot live without it now and would highly recommend it. It frees up my time considerably and is… Read more ·  1

exceedingly quiet. I am so glad to have this Ecovac. My dogs used to be scared of the vaccum, but now they just walk past it, and it doesn't run into them or me if we are in the way. Humorously, my dogs like to grab a couple of biscuits and place them on the floor to eat when I am in the kitchen with them, and whilst videoing the robot vacuuming, it came along next to my Dachsund and whisked away one of his biscuits before he could eat it. From previously being terrified of the noise etc from my heavy Barrel Dyson vacuum, this surprised him but did not phase him. The dogs have not tried to attack it at all, even after it ate his biscuit.

The ECOVACS App is very handy, I can come home, vacuum the front hall and lounge where bark from the firewood gets dropped/walked across the room. It automatically knows when it is on carpet or vinyl and tiles, and changes its suck power accordingly. All this is changeable on the App if you feel the need to increase or decrease it, but the settings it uses already seem very good so I haven't altered them. It detects when it is on a rug, and I am very impressed with its ability to clean my Mud Mats so well.. These used to be such a pain when we vacuumed by hand, getting sucked in, and needing continual bending to clean.. Now they are all spotless and my house looks so much cleaner. The mats are all clean, lying in position perfectly and there are no hairs from my 2 dogs lying around, and no more dust bunnies. This vacuum even cleans under my beds, low coffee tables - something I haven't been able to do for years with my Dyson.... I can set it to clean the whole house, or individual rooms or custom areas easily with the App, even getting it to clean x2 if I wanted for each area. I find x1 cleaning has been ample, and now use this robot vacuum daily. I tried the mopping feature out today, to see if it was worth using, as I was a bit skeptical.. To my surprise it is actually pretty good. I took some video of it mopping to see how much water is dispersed. It is very adequate. No detergent is used. If I walked mud in I wouldn't use this, I would wipe up with a baby wipe or disinfectant wipe first. But for day to day vacuuming and washing it is very good to use. It knows where the diagonal carpet border is on my kitchen/hall boundary and doesn't wet the carpet or any mats if you left them down. My floors are clean, dust free and feel very clean to walk on.

The Robot vacuum is very easy to empty, and it holds more than I thought in its easily removable and cleanable container. I have long hair, and previously it was a pain every time we vacuumed having to pry it out of the Dyson's vacuum turbohead. Hair is easily removed from the Deebot N8Pro's roller underneath, and it doesn't seem to get as many hairs tangled as other vacuums have, they must get sucked into the dust compartment more often than wrapped around the roller. It is easy to maintain, having a little brush, removable roller that fits in very easily and is pretty easy to clean. No problem or dread in cleaning it, it doesn't feel like a chore. It saves me so much time and keeps my house so clean I am going to look after this and maintain it well. The mop pad it came with washes out easily, and sits flat. It also comes with some disposable mop pads which I will try next. I will order some filters etc as per the maintenance schedule in the book, but it will be worth it as this robot is a keeper. Well worth the money. Ideal for anyone who has found their vacuuming too tiring as they have lost their muscle strength, as instead of getting someone in to vacuum once a week you can rely on this daily to keep your home spic and span, so you aren't embarrassed if visitors arrive anytime of the week. If I had a holiday home, I would take it with me as who wants to go cleaning during their holiday??

I have a large area of Berber (loop)carpet throughout my 3 bedroom home. I have a kitchen and dining area in Pegulan Vinyl. I have 2 tiled bathrooms and toilets plus a large tiled laundry and entry area. I have 4 plush carpeted/rubber backed Mud Mats at each entrance, sitting on vinyl, tiles and carpeted areas. The Deebot N8 Pro cleans all of these rooms amazingly. I will only have to clean behind the toilets which are too narrow for it to enter.

Notes about using the ECOVACS App: The ECOVACS App was a little bit frustrating to begin with. However, with persistence I have managed to get the App to work, and find it very useful. Before I got the App to work, I pressed the button and it manually went around my house vacuuming quite impressively. My problems in using the App initially occurred because I don't have a separate Router with permanent internet connection within my home. I got rid of my ADSL and kept my Mobile Phone Data a couple of years ago, so found it a bit tricky to set this App up. This is because the Device the ECOVAC App runs on needs to connect to the internet via Wifi only, and not from using the mobile data available on that device. Hence, I could not connect it to the robot vacuum successfully by using my Mobile data equipped iphone alone. The solution was to delete the ECOVACS App from my iphone. I then turned on an older Samsung tablet I have at home, and installed the App on the Tablet. I then ran through the setup process on the Tablet and tethered my Tablet to my iphone via Wifi. I then had internet available for the App via Wifi, and the Robot and App began working together beautifully. I then discovered that although I hadn't previously gotten the app to work, the moment I did the robot had already mapped my house very accurately from the previous manually started cleanings and uploaded them to the App. More than 1 map can be saved if you have different floors (or a holiday home.) Because I leave the house with my iphone, the Tablet loses its internet connection, and thus when I come back home it needs to reconnect back to the internet via wifi to my iphone before the App is happy and works smoothly. Sometimes I needed to press the button on top of the robot to 'reconnect' it to the Tablet and App. Other times it all finds each other okay and when I go to the App it is connected and working as if I had never left. Patience can help, as sometimes it doesn't connect immediately if I try to do it the moment I return. I have found that just waiting a bit on its own it finds it okay, so I don't need to keep running the reconnect process each time. In daily life this works out fine and I don't find it annoying to come back to it a bit later upon my return home.

One impressive piece of technology – I'll start of by saying the Deebot N8 Pro is an amazing device. I've been using it for just under a month now and I'm very glad we have it. Our house has tiles, floorboards, carpet and 4 bedrooms and we have 2 dogs and 3 young children so it needs cleaning often and the Deebot is up to the task. For me the initial setup was a bit tedious and… Read more ·  2

getting the Deebot to map the house for the first time had it's issues. Once that was done it has been a pleasure.

It runs for about 73min on mixed surfaces on medium vacuum strength. That time will be around 2hrs on hard surfaces and under 60min for carpet. When the battery is low it will return to charge and then continue cleaning where it left off once it decides it has enough charge to finish the job. It takes around 3.5 hours to fully charge, and has mopping and vacuuming functionality. It has some neat sensors including optical and gentle bump sensors that allow it to navigate around objects.

PROS: - Able to climb over 20mm steps. - Automatically detects floor types and what can and can't be mopped and automatically increases vacuum strength on carpet. - The dust cartridge is easy to access and empty. - Has a great App that allows you to fully customise and control the mapping and cleaning as well as monitor the Deebot in real-time and give notifications when there are issues. - Automatically maps out the house separating rooms and floor surfaces. - Has a durable build. - Has multi story functionality.

Cons: - Tedious initial house mapping and setup. - Takes a long time to completely charge and is unable to fully complete a clean in 1 charge. - Has had issues getting tangled, jammed and stuck on such things as cords, scarfs, legos, chairs and ducted heating vents. Though once you get used to its habits you should have minimal issues by moving or cleaning up items. - Will only connect to 2.4ghz Wifi not 5ghz. - Gets confused with mirrors thinking they are another room. - Can't vacuum carpet edges next to walls. - Mopping function is pretty average and is more like running a damp cloth along the floor. It will not mop an area if it is required to travel over carpet. Floor boards come up fine but the black tiles look cloudy.

Although I have a long list of cons most are not really an issue and I've enjoyed using the Deebot. It's taken a chore away from my wife so she loves it too. After every clean it has done a great job and the dust cartridge is always full. I would easily recommend the Deebot N8 Pro to potential buyers.

  Fair Incentive Ambassador Review

Should have bought one years ago – Have started using the deebot for vacuuming our carpets, tile, and timber floors.... living room, kitchen, bathroom, 4 bedrooms. Vacuuming performance on soft and hard surfaces is great, it fills it's canister with each trip over the house, so needs changing daily. The setup programming was simple, and its great to be able to see it map the… Read more ·  1

house on the app. It can move around really well, avoiding objects that the kids leave around on the floor, and gets up and over the joins from carpet to timber / tile to timber no worries. Noise level is excellent in comparison to our plug in, and stick vacum, however, there’s too much noise to run it during the night while we’re sleeping. Floor mopping function works ok, however, it involves some set up, we find it is most useful just as a vacum cleaner.
