I found this little robot online second hand for only £20. The bloke I collected it from mentioned that it needed a new battery as it only lasted 5 minutes before requiring recharging.
Stripped it all down, cleaned it thoroughly, reassembled, charged it up and it then lasted for over 90 minutes and did two cleaning cycles before needed to be recharged.
We live in a 2 bed bungalow with a mix of carpet, hardwood flooring and various rugs and a large dog and it does a fantastic job of keeping the floors clean.
It just goes to show that routine ma...

I bought the Roomba a couple of weeks ago and have now used it 3 times.
I am pretty disappointed and a little scared to keep using it because it bashes really hard into my brand new skirtings. - I don’t want to damage my walls and skirtings to save time cleaning.
It also gets caught up in my dining chairs and bashes around my furniture.
I am worried it will damage my house with all the constant banging.
It seems to be missing spots also.
For the price I expected a much smoother effective product.

Has completely failed just outside warranty, was moderately satisfied with it prior
After great reviews from a number of family members regarding their Robot vacuum cleaners (both Roomba and other brands), we decided to give one a go. We have a large open plan living / dining area that is tiled, along a tiled hallway, to the bathroom and laundry (also tiles). I was already aware from family members' experience that these vacuums are not effective on carpeted surfaces.
At first, we were reasonably happy with this product. We would run it two or three days a week while everyone was at work / school, in order to pick up the l...
Read moreoose dust, food crumbs and pet hair through the common areas and just assist us with the weekly floor cleaning. We shut all the bedroom doors so that it couldn't travel into the carpeted areas, and lifted the dining chairs to give it a clear run around the dining table. Most days, we would return to find it docked and re-charging, and full as expected. Occasionally, we would find it stopped in the hallway, presumably because it had insufficient charge to return to the charging dock (which was located in the dining area, approximately central to the general area for cleaning. More often than I would have liked we would find it wedged under the back of one of the recliners, having only cleaned about 1/3 to 1/2 of the area. In the end, I started moving the recliner hard against the wall so it would go behind there. When it got the whole floor cleaned, we were very happy with the outcome. It did make a big difference to the general cleanliness of the house, and because it was operating when we were all away from home, it didn't disturb us. I did notice that it was fairly noisy. If you were operating it while you were home, I'm sure it would be pretty annoying. It also needed some frequent cleaning above emptying the dust catcher and washing the filter (it came with two filters, so we would wash and place one out to dry after each use, and reload with the second one, ready to go). As a family with long-haired ladies, we found that we often had to remove the roller and detangle the hairs that were wrapped around it. We also used the screwdriver to regularly unscrew the little triple brush and pull out the hairs trapped under there, as they inhibited it from spinning freely. We found doing this every fifth or sixth use ensured the best operation. It wasn't particularly time-consuming, but did require a little effort.Purchased in at Harvey Norman for $619.

Thanks for your response, however, since my husband sent the Roomba to the local tip, I doubt you’ll be willing to assist with our issue.

We only had our robot vacuum for about a year and have had multiple issues with charging. The only way we can actually charge it is to lift it on a book so that the connectors actually work. We cannot get anybody on the phone and have sent a warranty request through months ago to no response. It is actually very frustrating that there is no help with such a defect.
After writing the above review, I was given an option for mediation instead of posting. I accepted. After multiple promises that somebody would contact me, it took weeks of me ...

They then asked for my receipt and when I provided it, they said that it was out of warranty despite the months of trying to get this sorted which began while it was in warranty. Extremely loud. Does not go everywhere, some places are missed. Never again!!! Battery is flat before finishes. It cleans only on tiles I close the bedrooms where the surface is carpet.
Hi MBB, so sorry to hear this. We'd love to look into this for you, if you can please send us a private message with your full name, contact details and state, and we'll get a member of our team in touch to resolve. Kind regards, iRobot
We have all tile floors and initially the Roomba did a fantastic job of cleaning. However after only a few months the battery did not last as long and the roomba started to fail to return to the charging station.
When returned for warranty they wanted to charge a $100 service fee.
System was returned after the service centre could not replicate the issue to have the same issues happen from day one.

Our vacuum recently broke so we decided to get Very convenient and easy to use. We usually turn this on downstairs at night before we go to bed and it automatically goes back to the dock after its done vacuuming. It sucks everything up and the floor is clean everyday. It's much less of a hassle than having to use a regular vacuum cleaner.

I have a tiled floor and carpet. So far it does a good job. The first 2 times it works out where to go and is all over the place but once it knows the layout of the house it's good. It's a little loud but you can schedule it to work while you're out so it fixes that issue. It's great to vac on a daily bases but I still vac once a week. I think its a good product.

Our house is fully tiled with a couple of rugs and our iRobot does a fantastic job making sure our house is spotless! I love the diversity of this beauty. Out for the day? Start vacuuming via the iRobot app on your phone. Want a scheduled time to vacuum? No worries, this can be arranged on your phone. The house needs a quick vacuum? Just press the button on the vacuum. Kids asleep and the vacuum gets too close to their room? Pause it via your phone!

Oh, let me count the ways I love this little Robot. I purchased from Harvey Norman, got it home and promptly named it Cruze. Charged it up and off it went .. of great interest to the cat who had been snoozing on the sofa. It does the whole ground floor of our house in about 1 hour …… ok it takes a while but guess what ? I’m not doing it, Cruze is…I’m generally sitting in the sun with a coffee and the crosswords. If it gets stuck, I get a notification on my phone. I’ve learned now where it’s ‘getting stuck’ places are so I block them off with a ...
Read morestool so it’s all plain sailing. When it’s done, it slides back to it’s charging dock and reconnects itself. I get a notification to say the job is completed. I’m always amazed at the thorough job it’s done and have been know to remark to Cruze… ‘another splendid job, thank you’…husband was sceptical at first but now appreciates the great job Cruze does for us. The cat still watches with a condescending look on his face, but it’s picking up the kitty litter that he kicks about in the laundry, so he should be as impressed as I am. Would highly recommend this appliance.Purchased in .
Originally thought the whole robot vacuum thing was a load of malarkey... after I ran the roomba on my floors - I just couldn't wait for it to finish to check how much dirt it had picked up - and I'm meticulous with my floors.. but this just seems to find dirt..
You need to keep on top of the maintenance if you have people / pets with long hair - take the triple brush out with a small philips screwdriver and remove any hair that's twined around the spool... then replace - same as the brush and the roller in the cage... you need to keep those c...

Have had this machine for about 4 years.
It's looking fairly used now but it just keeps on going.
It won't forever replace your vacuum cleaner but does an excellent
Job in between the weekly proper vacuum and does a far better job with dog hair.
Were talking Belgum Shepards !
Yes you do have to give the brush a good clean after a few runs to get the best results.
But even when the floors dont look to bad... when it finishs with always a full canister.
Your amazed there was that much dust and dirt on the floors....
only issue we have is it likes socks and power cables....
Our problem...not Dusty's (That's his name)

Got it for $399 at Big W back in April. I got it on a whim while shopping with my wife. It's tech (randomly bumping around) is old consider there are others (ie XiaoMi) that have wifi, app control, mapping, and other features for a similar or slightly higher price. After having it for 2 months, here's my honest review:
I have a large, open, hard floor area (wide entrance hallway connects with living, kitchen, dining and activity area). We turn it on when everyone leaves for work and school (1-2 times a week). It does it job, vacuum the area by...
Read more bumping around at random direction. It's able to go up the rug. By the time we get home, the area seems mostly clear of dust. Visible dust can still be spotted at corners or areas it can't reach. I'd say it manage to vacuum 80-90% of the entire open area. Is it worth $399? To my wife, yes in the beginning cause she doesn't have to do the work, but later disappointed that it does not have an app that maps out where it vacuum. To me, not really. Get a dyson V7 (i use it for the office) for same/similar price and manually vacuum. It's a lot more efficient and effective. It takes this model 40-50 mins to cover most of the area which takes 10 mins or less to manually vacuum. At the end of the day, we going to keep using it. However, If I did more research, I would've saved the money for a more advance one or something else. Nonetheless, easy to use and maintain, does its job, well built (external feels more sturdy than my friend's Xiaomi), and available at most department stores.Purchased in at Big W for $399.

I own a 600 and 900 series. I stopped using them 2 years ago when they would get stuck then burn the carpet because the wheels kept turning. A few weeks ago I came across really cheap replacement tyres from China on Ebay! Amazing, easy to fit and the renewed grip cured the problem. The original worn tyres were obviously slipping too much for the Roomba to recognise it had to stop the drive wheels turning if it got jammed under furniture. I now have two fully functioning Roombas again and no carpet damage. The newer 900 with rubber brushes...
Read more is far better at dirt collection than the original brush system on the 600. These reviews on the i7+ have put me off upgrading because I already know the Roomba can be unreliable. I did replace the PC board on my 600 plus numerous new batteries for both. Too complicated (and expensive) not to have access to a decent service dept. Roomba US needs a new agent in Australia. Would love a new i7+ but just too risky given the reviews.Purchased in at Harvey Norman for $800.
Day 3 and after 7 hours of charging states Roomba can not start due to low battery really dissapointed in this Product tomorrow we are going back to get a refund.....

We have IRoomba 630. We are getting error 1. We have addressed everything in the fault description and still no joy. When you line it up with the charger it gives the correct sounds, green charger light comes on,Roomba starts to flash orange as though it’s charging then about three flashes in it reverts back to error 1 and charger light goes out.
My iRobot Roomba 637 has suddenly stopped working. It’s docked and the battery light on the docking station flashes green for about 20 seconds then turns off.; the amber light on the Roomba changes from amber ti green quickly. I then press clean and it leaves the docking station but stops almost immediately with the red error symbol appearing. We have cleaned all of the components that we normally do, and have cleaned the charging pads on the docking station. It’s 3 years old. I don’t know what else to do. Any ideas for next steps? Thank you

How do I set a timer to clean with my iRobot without an app? Or does the 606 not have this feature?
Hi Kath, unfortunately Roomba 606 is not wifi enabled and thus cannot be used with the iRobot HOME app. Kind regards, iRobot

Currently consisting of the iRobot Roomba 670 and 606, the constantly changing Roomba 600 Series has received an overall positive rating to date. The iRobot Roomba 606 is the more affordable option as it retails for $499, compared to $649 for the Roomba 670.
iRobot Roomba 606:
- Its cleaning system combines vacuum suction with an Edge-Sweeping Brush to make closer contact with the floor and wall edges
- Auto-adjust cleaning head adapts its height responsively to suit a variety of floor surfaces, including carpets, tiles, hardwood and laminate
- In-built sensors include Dirt Detection (which applies a higher degree of suction power to especially soiled areas) and a Cliff-Detection sensor (which prevents an unfortunate tumble down the stairs)
- Automatic re-charging occurs when the 606 is about to run out of charge – it will walk itself to the Home Base for some extra juice
- Comes with a rechargeable battery and Home Base Charging Station and a line cord.
iRobot Roomba 670:
The iRobot Roomba 670 is equipped with all of the functions and features of the Roomba 606, but it’s also a ‘connected’ model, meaning it’s equipped with WiFi. This means that it can be controlled remotely via the iRobot Home app, or even a smart speaker using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
The 670 also comes with an extra filter, whereas the 606 only includes one standard filter.
