Edsemble

Your review is the only one on the Internet that mentions this. I was initially really excited about the subscription, too. Enjoyed most of the books that were selected (some of which we still read regularly). I didn't notice the price discrepancy between the actual book and the updated pricing. The books used to have a sticker on the back saying how to enhance the reading experience. I liked that, too. But then they rolled out their own brand books and I was underwhelmed, too. Not very well written. Feels like they might be written by AI. I canceled shortly afterward.
I signed up to the Edsemble book subscription for my toddler. The marketing is great and definitely lured me in. I noticed the branding similarities between this company and Lovevery and falsely assumed they were linked. They definitely are not and we have been disappointed in the quality of the books we received considering the cost. The first and second deliveries arrived with the price still on one of the two books in each order ($8.99 US and $7.99 US). Considering the subscription cost is $39, this immediately made me feel like we were not getting our moneys worth. The second book in each order was published by Edsemble. In my opinion, they were basic and not worth the price. They were also not appropriately matched to my child’s development.
Additionally, under the question “How do I cancel my subscription?” the Edsemble website FAQ section currently states “You can cancel anytime through your Edsemble account, or simply email us at hello@edsemble.com.” In my opinion, this is misleading as the “or” insinuates that you can cancel via your account. When you do navigate to your account there is a “Cancel Subscription” button, however when pressed it comes up with a message directing you to email Edsemble to cancel.
Overall, I would not recommend this subscription.
