The dryer has been very problematic to date. I have logged two warranty calls on this dryer. Now 3 years old the dryer has the same fault again, i.e. not drying clothes again. Electrolux have said I need to pay for this repair even though the lack of drying issue has happened twice under manufactures warranty. I will be taking this further under consumer law. Show details

The more the merrier – I now have two Electrolux 7KG vented tumble dryers, the other is model EDV705HQWA bought in August 2020. It is worth noting how I use these dryers and compare to how you intend to use yours. I have a large solar system, allowing me to make free use of this type of dryer during the day. There is ample solar power production at times to use both… Read more

dryers at same time, halving the time that it would otherwise take to complete my laundry drying chores. I do have a clothes line which I often use for large bath towels and sometimes the super king size sheets, however there is nothing I can't and do at times dry completely in the tumble dryer. Although these dryers have an auto sense feature which is supposed to stop the drying process when clothes are dry, I use a different system. I have multiple "ThermoPro" temperature and humidity sensors which use bluetooth to transmit information to my android phone app. So wherever I am in or around the house, I'm able to check on the status of the clothes in the dryer and even setup alarms based on temperature and/or humidity limits. I have become so familar with the drying times now that I don't bother with alarms, I just glance at the humidy/temperature charts at around the time things should be close to dry. Because power is free, going over time is no issue.

One thing I had an issue with happened due to something I did and would be easy for anyone else to do. I placed some heavy items on top of the older dryer and ended up bending the top panel. This eventually allowed some lint to get into the door switch and the dryer at times would suddenly stop, thinking that the door was opened. After repairing the top panel and vacuum cleaning the door switch, all is well again. If you use two vented dryers, don't place them near each other, otherwise the hot moise exhaust from one will feed into the other and vice versa.

I've had a Bosch condensor type dryer, and would never buy a condensor type dryer again. They are super expensive both with initial purchase and ongoing cost, once the unit is around 12 to 18 months old. It's not just Bosch, I have relatives with other brands of condensor dryer that spend all day just to complete two loads. I now do the same in around an hour, using 2 dryers at once.

It's important to clean the lint filter regularly, and every year or two, take the vent covers off and do a more thorough clean. If you don't have access to free or cheap power, I still wouldn't get a condensor dryer. For around the same money, you could install a solar system and start really saving money thereafter.

The items that take the longest to dry I have found, are thick bamboo socks. I wash around 18 pairs of these once every couple of months, and am careful to place ONLY these in one load with nothing else. That's because it takes around 2 to 2.5 hours to completely dry these, compared to 40 to 70 minutes of most other loads. Thus, I don't wash any bamboo socks until I have quite a few, then do all at once.

The largest item I dry is a thick super king sized blanket. I tumble this every 3 days, just after changing the sheets, even though I only wash it once per year or so. These dryers are large enough for this. If you are one that overloads tumble dryers, note that this can GREATLY increase drying times.

ELECTROLUX WILL SPIN YOU RIGHT ROUND ROUND LIKE DRYER BABY – RUBBISH. I had Electolux replace the sensor four times in two years as the dryer never turned off. Now the dryer has died and only 2 years and 8 months old. Show details

Poor reliability – Lasted 2 and half years (so only 2 winters) started to not dry properly eventually needing 2 or 3 cycles to dry, its out of warranty now and Electrolux referred us to a service centre but will not cover repair costs unless its a dramatic failure (like a motor etc) which it obviously isn't. Very poor Electrolux. Show details

My least favourite dryer – In a long line of worthy vented clothes dryer, this one stands out as a bit of a dud. Things I don't like are: 1. It is advertised as sensor drying, but the drying stops after a certain time regardless of whether the clothes are dry. Worst dryer I have had at telling when the items are dry. The only time it dries fully is when the items are… Read more

exactly the same and I mean exactly. If I put in a matching bedding set (sheets, doona cover, pillow case) it stops before the doona cover is dried! But if you only dry sheets of the same material, it is OK.

2. The controls! OMG who designed them? A nonsensical mix of mechanical and digital controls, with the digital controls placed so I knock into them whenever I get something off the top of the dryer and pause or stop the program. The digital control is for start/stop, and it doesn't even do this. You can press start, the button beeps, but nothing actually happens. I have had so so many loads not even started when I come home due to this.

3. The extra capacity is good, but but even very small loads are still damp when they finish.

4. After about nine months of use it stopped even getting close to drying a load. It does still heat up, but everything is still wet when it finishes a long cycle. I now have to put it on three full cycles to dry a load of clothes to the level that one cycle used to do. (I have put in a warranty claim so will see how that goes)

New dryer died, no parts and no replacement. Do not buy – Dryer dried after seven uses (only blows cold air). Customer service promised to call back within 48 hours. Weeks later, with five calls from me and none from them, I’m still getting no answers. Their story changes each time: a promise of parts in five days didn’t eventuate. They stonewall requests for an updated timeframe and refuse to discuss a… Read more

replacement machine. Yesterday I was told they’d need to make a new file because the old one had been closed. Every day they promise to call back with an update from the technical services manager but never do. My impression is this is a faulty machine that they can’t fix and don’t have parts for. Be very careful buying this product. (customer service reference Q220706301)

EDV705H3WB – Bought after the old one died after 12 years. It works very well for a midrange dryer, much nicer on the clothes, although it does take about 25% longer than the old one Show details

Poor quality and appalling customer service – Dryer has default settings of 3hrs on high heat on the delicate cycle. This cycle cannot be changed and is irrespective of weight. I rang Electrolux customer service 3 times to query as it is NOT stated in the product manual. Each time I called o was told they would check and call me back. I didn’t hear from them so I called Electrolux back a… Read more

week later and was told “this is normal for delicate cycle as it reduces static and heat on delicate clothes”. 3 HOURS is not appropriate for delicate items. The interface on the dryer is misleading and as there is no mention of a 3hr delicate cycle in the manual, it is false advertising. I will never purchase an Electrolux product again based on misleading product that doesn’t do what I paid for, poor quality and poor customer service.

Does the job – Had it a few months and no issues. We put it on the ‘cupboard’ setting and it dries the clothes fine, no need to keep checking if they’re dry like our old dryer. Only thing I don’t like is it doesn’t turn itself off when finished which is a pain cause if I go out I don’t need it to keep running - it finishes the cycle - beeps, flashes end then… Read more

continues flashing and tumbling the clothes intermittently which to me is a waste of power. If anyone knows how to get it to turn off at the end of a cycle please let me know!

Terrible – My one is the 6kg model but is not listed here. In the first use, the machine stopped working. It’s been very frustrating to buy an Electrolux thinking that you are buying a good brand but you have this kind of issue. Show details
