Electrolux ESTM6400 Questions & Answers
VerifiedI like the blender and have been using it for 1 year. It works well. However, recently, the motor stopped working. I think it happened because I put in heavy food that the blender couldn't handle. Can you repair it?

Sukumar, sounds similar to my problem, I contact the Electrolux service desk and they were very helpful and replaced my bowl at no charge.
This has been a fantastic blender for two years until today. The main units cog attachment seams to have sunken in...like a spring has failed.
Motor runs fine but it can't make contact with the attatchments. Any help?
Hi Colleen, I had problems after a couple of years, the chopper bowl wouldn't work, but the stand mixer did, so something wasn't connecting properly. I was very disappointed and contacted Electrolux directly. The service was great and they forwarded me a replacement part at no cost. Good luck Leanne
Thanks Leanne. I will give it a go.
I also have the issue of water stuck in the top of the mixer, can you please advise on how to get the water out?

Hi Natie Nat, I wish I could but alas I haven't found a way, even shaking like a cocktail standing on my head wont work. It is a product flaw. I imagine that there is some sort of spring inside that is supposed to close the hole over when its not in use so you can wash it. Mine stopped working (the spring that is) within first few uses so if you want to clean it it will continually get water and possible food in it. Electrolux did call me on this but could not advise of any way to get and keep the water/foodie scrap mixture out or stop it from getting in. Maybe some of the water might release when you are blending the food but then it could only end up in your food, good if you are looking for the blue cheese flavour. Good luck. Good product with a fatal flaw.
Thanks Mikey!
I did email Electrolux yesterday but am yet to hear back, I use this to make baby food so I definitely won't be risking old dirty water getting in
Bought the ESTM 6400 red stickmixer with all attachments in mid 2013. It wouldnt start at home, I took it back to Myer Doncaster and they gladly replaced it immediately.
I rarely use this stickmixer as I often use my large mixer/blender as a result of my large family. When I did start using it late 2014, a small cylindrical round part fell out of the bottom of the blade that is used in the mini chopper and the grooves on the top of the blade started wearing and grazing immediately and small red plastic parts started falling into my food.
Has anybody had this problem as my unit works mechanically but I cant use the mini chopper (the main reason for bying it) to avoid small bits of plastic in my food. I have had fwded msg to Electrolux and awaiting a response before I am forced to buy yet another unit as a result of being several months out of warranty.

i am considering buying the estm6400 to replace my current stick mixer .. one review commented negatively on the plastic parts at the point of separation from one base to the other .. would you clarify if this is a weakness with this product? also i am ditching my current stick mixer because the handle section is almost impossible to separate from the bottom part for cleaning and use on the chopper, unless one has very strong muscles .. does yours have a mechanism making this a smooth action?
Thanks for the question, I have read the comment about the plastic parts and if I understand correctly they mean the little clips that keep the handle connected to the attachment. That may be an issue over years of use, but I think if you look after it and are gentle clipping it on and off it should last. There is a button to detach the handle from the attachments and it seems to click off easily enough each time without any great effort. Still loving it and haven't had problem.
I find the plastic parts quite sturdy, but I have not had my stick mixer for long. So far though everything seems solid. The mechanism to separate the two parts of the blender is very simple - press two clips and the thing separates with no force necessary.
I am in complete agreement with Jacques. Loving it still.
Thankyou both for your replies they are very helpful
only used the beaters twice and one broke they are very flimsy can I buy a new set
