Excellent - nothing to fault – Electrolux 6.5 k FL EW880F. I've had this 15 yo washer for 12 years and it is still going. Purchased second hand 2007. Approximately 5 washes weekly. Including bedspreads and work clothes and dedicates. Love the options of cold water and spin selection, rinse and spin. It runs quietly and is sturdy and stable. Quick wash option takes an… Read more

hour - good for half loads. And mostly I could add items after starting provided water level wasn't already full. It needed a new circuit panel and door latch at 8 yo. ($420 repair - was a $ gamble that paid off - included pickup) Then someone used it and tried to alter the wash mid cycle so stuffed up the selection knob, so it has been stuck on that selection since. But fortunately it kept working. Lately it's started to not spin during the wash - only a final spin, so time to update. Will certainly be purchasing another Electrolux - new model is looking great. Has all my favs and nice easy control panel. Highly recommend Electrolux FL Washer. It's also been transported a few times interstate and coped - including red dirt outback. Feel sad to update - been such a great, reliable machine. Posted 12.4.2019.

I love this washer - I wish it would last forever – I purchased this washer 5 years ago on ebay, at 2 years old. It has been a brilliant washer for all this time with zero problems. It goes beautifully, quietly, smoothly. Sits well and quiet in the spin cycle. It also allows me (most of the time) to open the door mid-wash. Very easy, straight forward operating dial and buttons. I wanted a… Read more

cold wash option and spin speed options which this has. I just love my washer. I know in this day and age nothing is built to last and I am very upset that it has just died. The mother board needs replacing. I dread getting a new washer as everything on the market is cheap and nasty. There is no option to spend more and get better quality available. Speed Queen is the best and even their quality is diminished. Maytag has been taken over by Whirlpool and is no longer quality. I've never liked Miele. My electrolux is way better than my sister's Miele, which is noisy and rough.

I have been fortunate to have found a good technician and although it will cost a bit I have decided to get this electrolux fixed ($420). Rather than get a new one which will only last 3 years. The technician said the motor and brushes are still good. If the washer is never over-loaded and operated on low spin cycle speeds the bearings have better longevity. Front loaders are designed to 'wash' by the clothes going to the top and then 'falling' but most people stack them to the hilt and run the machine up to 1400rpm. All this reduces the longevity of the machine. I only ever ran my machine on 700 rpm and two thirds filled it. Which gives the best clean anyway.

There are no faults with this machine. But with top and front loaders they both have their advantages and disadvantages. Front loaders always take much longer to wash. And the rubber door seal on this machine collected gunge in it's gullies which had to be wiped out once a month. I know I am taking a gamble getting this one repaired but with the lack of quality on the market I feel buying a new one is an equal gamble. (Reading reviews about the noise of spin cycles akin to a screaming jumbo jet - I don't want that in my house!) Smooth and quiet. Reliable and easy to use. Able to open door mid-wash. Wash cycle takes almost 2 hours but this is the nature of front loaders.

Fails when it is most needed! – Purchased over 7 years ago, it was fine being used a couple of times a week. But now that we have a little bub and are using cloth nappies we need to do a few loads every second day. It is when now that we need it most that it has chosen to fail. It randomly works sometimes, but most of the time a load of washing finishes with the end light… Read more

flashing. After reading the reviews we wont even try to get it fixed, we will just have to purchase another one otherwise the little one will have nothing to wear or we go back to disposables which she is allergic to. Reliable when it was working, water efficient. Gentle on clothes compared to top loaders. Standard program cycles took over 2 hours to wash clothes. Cannot take the rigors of cloth nappy washing. Towels are left rough when dried.

A severe disappointment – This is not in the most expensive bracket but is certainly not a cheap machine either but well up in the mid-price bracket the expected life of which, with reasonable repairs, is minimum 10 years and one hopes for 12 years. We bought this machine 6 1/2 years ago. We have found it slow but quiet and remarkably vibration free. Like the general… Read more

run of front-loaders of its generation it rubs the clothes up, causing pilling and loss of lint unlike the previous generation of front-loaders which were very kind to clothes [my daughter spent a small fortune on a Miele at about the same time and it does the same thing and does it much more noisily]. In other respects is washes the clothes well.

BUT - the atrocious price quoted for the first repair obliges us to junk the article. The stainless steel drum looks immaculate, the main seal is also immaculate and all other seals and working parts are functioning well but from now on we must expect repairs to seals, pumps and bearings and must allow for the possibility that we might get only 3 1/2 to four years more out of it with certainly more expense to come, though we would hope for a year or two more. For this prospect we would are estimated $500.00 for the repair of an electrical fault that has arisen. We are told that the component required is itself priced at well over $300. This is an "electronics board" which has failed. One expects the electronics board, which has no working parts, to be the last thing that goes.

That the makers should put a $300 plus electronics component into a machine which fails before mechanical components is a disgrace. It must be of the shoddiest quality - and costs two thirds of the new price of the whole machine to replace?

The strongest selling point of the Electrolux Group has been represented to us as their supposedly prompt and responsible after-sales service based on a policy of maintaining a particularly excellent stock of spares. We have learnt otherwise.

Electrolux should regard this as a design defect and recall and replace the component whenever, regardless of official "warranty period". We consider this a scandal. quiet After sales service prompt but so atrociously priced as to be effectively unavailable

While working was a very reliable and efficient washing machine BUT – From the time we bought this washing machine over 5 years ago, we were very happy with this product, the only small problems going from a top loader to a front loader was a big change, a lot slower, and filter catch and drain is very low bottom of machine in front near floor and very hard not to flood or have a lot of water escape to floor. Then… Read more

Excellent – I really like it and am happy with it. I've had it over a year and no problems at all. It's brilliant. It washes the clothes and has never been a problem. The normall cycle can take a while.

Excellent – I'm very happy with it. I've had it now for about 3 years and have had no problems at all. Overall, it's a great washing machine and I'd recommend it to anyone. It has different programs for different cycles: delicates, woollens, cottons etc. It washes my clothes thorougly.

Excellent – I'm really happy with my Electrolux. I've had it for nearly 4 years and not one problem in all that time. I would buy it again. It cleans well. There are different cycles for different types of fabrics, it's quiet. It doesn't damage my clothes.  Show reply
