Price does not equate with the quality or performance – I bought a washing from Fisher & Paykel in 2018 & it broke down 6 years later. The price gor this front loader was close to $900. When contact F&P for repair they charge $150 for dropping by. The circuit board was found to be defective & they quote almost $400 for a replacement. I found F&P product quality has deterioraded & the price for their… Read more

Hole in the drum flooded my house – I’ve been using this Fisher & Paykel 8kg front loader washing machine for the last four years and, up until recently, I was extremely pleased with its performance. It was a great fit for my needs, and I especially loved using the delay function. I would time the wash to finish about an hour before I got home from work, ensuring that my clothes… Read more

never sat damp in the machine for too long—no unpleasant odors, and everything felt fresh.

However, my satisfaction turned to frustration when, one evening, I returned home to find my house flooded. Turns out, a hole had developed in the drum, causing water to leak out mid-cycle. The machine then attempted to refill itself, exacerbating the problem. By the time I arrived, significant damage had already been done to my floors and the surrounding area.

What’s most disappointing is that this machine only has a 2-year warranty, and given its $1000 price tag, I expected more durability. After only four years of use, I really didn’t anticipate this kind of issue. The washing machine was great while it worked, but the lack of a longer warranty or more longevity has left me incredibly frustrated. I’m now faced with not only the cost of repairs to the machine, but also the damage to my home.

For the price and the brand, I expected better durability. I would hesitate to recommend this model based on my recent experience.

Timer is inaccurate – I’m happy with the way this washes and spins but the quick cycle is not quick, it sits on 8 minutes to go for about 10 minutes which is very annoying when you’re in a hurry or have more loads to do. I have been sent the message from F&P to arrange a technician to come and inspect it but in a previous review someone with the same problem had been… Read more

Very poor after care service – Machine delivered and set up by good guys team. First load ( towels) and machine would not lock lid. Followed the guide with no positive result. Rang the support line and told it will take 48 hours before they will get back to me and if I miss the call to try through the call line again. This is very poor customer service. Very efficient! – This is my first front loader machine, I’ve always had top loader machines. My family consists of 2 adults and 3 children and I use it everyday as my kids play sport almost everyday. This machine washes so well and leaves clothes very clean. For dirtier clothes I find the Cottons and Everyday cycles to be very effective but often find these cycles… Read more

Great quality – Generous size for a small to medium size family. Looks smart and is easily stackable with a dryer. Runs and spins very quietly, could easily do a load while the rest of the house is asleep without waking them up with the sound of a spaceship taking off (Bosch Front Loader used to!) Upgraded from my Bosch that lasted 15+yrs(but had developed an… Read more

unpleasant smell that no amount of cleaning could get rid of). Have been running on the longer cycle as all my clothes felt they were coming out 'dirty' from last machine, so giving everything a good clean, then will swap to a quicker cycle. Great range of options and temperatures, also spin rpms. Clothes come out well rinsed and spun. Highly recommend

Noisy, but Nice – My last machine was a decade old and as overworked and smelly as a brick layer during the Covid housing boom. So in the 2023 May sales we took a plunge and splurged $1k of our savings on a new washer. As a working Mum with two children my family generates a a hefty contribution of partially soiled clothing to the hamper, (except in soccer season… Read more

when full soiling enters play!)

Tackling Mt Washmore is a far easier task with this delightful F&P machine. Multiple pre-purposed wash settings ranging from 15mins to 2hrs, with varying load styles including heavy, bulky (!), delicate and cotton to name a few, plus the brilliant timer function so that your clothes wash when you want them to and are ready bang on hometime to be hung out and not sitting developing that delightful wet clothes smell we all love.

Favourite bits: 1. The night light! The cavity inside lights up after loading. 2. The unobtrusive musical tone that signifies a finished cycle. 3. The timer baby! 4. The 15min quick cycle for screaming toddlers that want that blankie back! 5. The steam function to refresh a load for when life becomes so chaotic and you're so exhausted that you can't fathom any iotas of energy to hang out 5 school uniforms, all your non-granny-panties and 45 non-matching socks. 6. The pause and open door feature so you can throw in a last minute item EVEN during the wash cycle! Genius!! 7. Unobtrusive jingle tone upon wash completion.

Least favourite bits: 1. It's not as whisper quiet as it was sold to us.. the actual washing isn't noisy, but the water intake process is super clunky and the obnoxious whooshinh sound isn't compatible with sleeping children.

Overall this is a purchase I do not regret.

Impressive performance and ease of use – I recently purchased my first Fisher Pakel front load washing machine. To my surprise and delight it is simple to use and efficient on all settings. I particularly appreciate the fact that I can stop and add clothes when needed. Additionally the spin dry setting results in less drying time. I wash clothing , towels and sheets and I’m truly impressed with its performance and variety of functions. Truly recommend .

Fisher and Paykel fail – I purchased this machine 2 years ago and have had to have it replaced once and "fixed" once already. The liquid dispenser fills with water and does not drain so each time you open it you get water spilling out all over the floor. It goes off balance constantly and will attempt to correct itself for over an hour before alerting you to the problem.… Read more

Doesn't spin clothes dry and timer is inaccurate – This was the first time I purchased a front loader after always having a top loader. People assured me that a front loader washes better and clothes come out almost spun dry. This is not the situation with this machine. If you use the Everyday or Quick cycles, the machine will sit for quite a few minutes then spin for about 3 mins. Clothes… Read more

Almost perfect washer with a couple of minor annoyances – Bought this washer in early June 2022 to replace a failing 11 year old Electrolux 7kg washer. The Fisher & Paykel 8kg washer is very quiet and smooth due to the direct drive drum. We wash on the Everyday cycle at 800rpm which takes about an hour. Inaccurate timer and unable to add fabric softener in quick cycle – My wife likes to use the quick cycle for most of her washes, and found to her consternation that she couldn't add any fabric softener! This is confirmed in the instruction manual. We bought this machine in a hurry without checking this. The other major problem we faced was that the countdown timer was completely inaccurate. For example, there… Read more

might be 10 mins left in the cycle, and you would come back in 10 mins, only to find there were still about 8 mins left! As the machine was still under warranty, we called Good Guys, and they sent out a technician, who told my wife that the countdown timer is only meant as an approximation of time remaining. We have since sold this machine and bought an LG which is absolutely accurate in the timer, and you can add fabric softener in the quick cycle.

Good all-rounder – This machine is a significant upgrade from my old (15 year old - these things last for ever!) F&P washing machine. Great Washing Machine – I upgraded to this after my old 10+ year old machine started to die. I love it so far, I can fit a whole basket of washing in and don't have any fluff or dust sticking to the clothes at the end of the wash. Terrible product, very disappointed – I bought this product to replace my Samsung front loader which broke after 10 years. It is terrible. I've tried everything - redistributing the load by hand, only washing items of the… Read more

same weight together, washing more items, washing less items etc. I've had the technician out who states there's nothing wrong with the machine. It's pretty useless to me if I can't use it to wash linen and towels, a waste of $700!

The other issue is that it fills with water by stopping and starting 10+ times which is very noisy and bad for the pipes.

I am so disappointed and will never purchase a Fisher & Paykel product again.

Exactly what the one star says 'Terrible' – Purchased this online at Good Guys. The machine appears to be a lot smaller in real life than online and under it's description. My previous Samsung front loader was 7.5kg and a lot more room. It is too small to place a king size blanket in. The issues with the machine is the amount of noise it lets off. which I believe was set up correctly. The F&P technician came out to look over the 'clicking/knocking' noise it makes at the start of very cycle. It turns out that this is a normal clicking/knocking noise because it's the door locking and unlocking. I'm so disappointed in this machine and and would not recommend. I read the reviews prior to purchasing and thought that this would be a good investment. I would never buy F&P appliance again. Great brand but just not for me.

Couldn't recommend more – I bought this a week ago, and couldn't be happier. I've had a F&P top-loader that I've been really happy with, but have moved and needed a smaller under-bench one. input the times, temperatures (yes, even cold) and spin speeds that I want. It has a quick 30 minute cycle which we use most of the time. I've found that 8kg fits most of what we need - including change of bedsheets and doona cover. The clothes aren't too creased, even on the fastest spin. It's super quiet even on high spin, and no annoying alarms that keep bleeping loudly. And it produces really clean clothes! Couldn't recommend more. 5.1.24 update. Still working well, still happy!

It’s okay, but has started shredding clothes – This machine isn’t well designed. The filters don’t really work and leave debris in the drum. Cleaning The filter leaks water all over the floor. Cycles are longer than stated. Today it’s started shedding clothes. I pulled out the washing and there was a big hole in a couple of items. The machine is cleaned regularly and was not overloaded. Really disappointing. I tired to contact them about it, but the chat is ‘full’.  Show details

off. It has a subtle sound when it has finished the cycle which is nice. I timed all the cycles we have used and it is surprisingly accurate on the time it shows it will take to do the cycle.

It has a drum clean cycle which I recommend to use once a week or fortnight.

We are really happy to have picked this model and it matches with our dryer which is a Fisher & Paykel too also great product.
