Oven Terrible – The top burners are great. The oven it takes hours to cook a roast. Worst oven I have ever used. They went through a bottle of gas very quickly. There must be a problem somewhere. You also havent got separate knobs for the grill and the oven. They are both on the same switch and there is no book to help you.

It is ok for small family – Eventhough it have many options to choose but I still dont really understand each option like under/above grills, with/without fan. Last time when I grilled a whole chicken, it made my house full of smoke even I used the fan+grill option. So it is ok with small cupcake or saussage

Oh. that s nice. I will call when I m have free time. Thank you
Its a serviceable unit – I have been using my Emilia stove with dual fuel for the last year. What I like about the stove is: The electric oven which heats up quickly and cooks well. I like the stainless steel frame. Its easy to clean. What I am not as keen on are that the gas burners on the stove top are not as adjustable heat wise as I have been used to. (And I have always loved cooking with gas!) Each burner is a different size and I think - intensity of flame - I haven't measured it!, but I find that I often have to move saucepans etc to different burners to lessen the temperature rather than leaving it on one burner and adjusting it right down or right up. There is movement on each burner, but not a great deal. Also, there is a timer on the stove, but the volume is so low (and it can't be adjusted. I contacted company to check) that there is not much point using it. Overall though, it is a serviceable unit.

Hi DRB - thank you for the positive feedback. The trick with the timer is to wind it right round to the maximum and then bring it back to the time you want to select. This loads the spring. It will make plenty of noise at the end of the period.
Worked well enough, until – Purchased our Emilia Oven 2 years and 1 month ago and was happy enough with it until the oven element just died. Warranty is 2 years, so the cynic in me thinks that the designing engineers are to be congratulated for their precision. $210 later the problem has been rectified by a local tech, who has told us he thinks the thermostat isn't working properly. If that goes, then it's almost like buying one oven for the price of two.
A Champion Duel Cooker EM534EI3 – EM534EI3 = $924.00 pick-up (Harvey Norman June 2014) Gas Installation = $445.00 (Yellow Pages discount $50.00) Electrician = Mates rates (Qualified) 2 x 9kg Bottles = $50.00 (Masters Hardware) 2 x Refill = $45.90 (at BCF) $1464.90 EM534EI3 (latest release) Duel Cooker 53cm – Predecessor Simpson Nova Electric 53cm, 23 years. I had thought to renovate my kitchen for the sake of a 60cm upright stove, but common sense prevailed.
For a 2 person household I chose 2 NEW 9kg bottles, and I am yet to see how long they last on Auto setting. In my homework, LPG is a much more efficient than Natural Gas 29.5Mj/h; LPG uses less and burns hotter 25.5Mj/h. Note; Natural Gas pipelines are not underground on the Southside of Brisbane.
Cooking experience; quick efficient economical – A Champion Duel Cooker! :)
Gas Installation; as per guidelines not to void warranty!
Electric Installation; as per my email I enquired to having it hardwired, I did not need or want to install another power point. I received confirmation that it was acceptable and it would not void warranty by hardwiring this appliance by a qualified Electrician. I suggest you get it writing first! The (fan-forced) Oven itself is 10amp connection, my existing fuse 25A – Everyone is happy!
FYI Readers of interest; near 2 years since my review my Emilia Duel Cooker has finally consumed the 2 x 9kg bottles of LPG to date… = approx. 2years 50days from time of connection/use in June 2014.
All other aspects and condition of this Champion Duel Cooker are operating as new. I’m very pleased and impressed with this purchase :)
Cheers ANGIE C.
