Rarely works – Heater is 10 years old now, but over the last 5 years has rarely worked, has now failed with nothing that can be done, except a $10k replacement. Each year required a repair, in the last 12-18 months has had solenoid, gas valve and regulator replaced, works for a week or 2 post repair and then starts failing. Repair man has been great, but says he is at a loss as to why it keeps failing and Escea also can’t help. Show details
Beware of after sales service despite great product – The Escea fireplace has heated our home very well for the past 8 years, despite the occasional issues with an E3 error where the heating stops and fans start to blow cold air. Centre does not return calls, then they text the night before to say he will come outside of the availability window I provided, then when we finally got a call back it was to say the one Escea-trained technician was about to go on two weeks leave.
Such a shame, after we had been recommending the heater to many of our friends. If Escea lifts their after-sales service game I would be happy to recommend them again.
Escea IB600 – We've had this fire for 5 years and it's been trouble on and off since it was installed. Many times the wrong part was sent, so it was another week or more while it was returned and they got around to sending the correct one. Our gasfitter got very little support from this company and all the issues and problems were dealt with by remote control, i.e. not once did they send up a technician. During my second phone call to the company, the chap had the cheek to say to me "Well what do you want me to do about it?". Overall, the fire we have is rubbish, the service from the company is appalling and I really recommend that anyone considering a gas fire look elsewhere - NOT Escea. Yes, they look beautiful (maybe) but if you want a reliable heating source Escea is definitely not it. The repair work this year has cost nearly $2k on a 5 year old fire and guess what - it still doesn't work properly. Be warned.
