BAD EXPERIENCE GETTING NEW PARTIAL DENTURES – Just before last Christmas I decided to have my two partial dentures replaced and made an appointment with a local Denture clinic. I was told I had a "gum ripper" on one of the denture teeth. I hadn't noticed my gum being pushed up and thought it was good that he noticed it and would fix it with the new upper denture. He made the two partial dentures and I noticed the teeth on the upper were really small and when I smiled it looked as though I had no back teeth. I mentioned this to "[Name Removed]" and he remade the upper denture begrudgingly. When I wore the new denture for a few days I noticed the "gum ripper" was obviously pushing my gum up much further than my previous denture and the false front tooth would drop occasionally. I didn't want to go back. The lower dentures did not align well with my natural teeth and looked unnatural. There was also a small crack on one side on day one. But I put up with it. A little over a year later I was eating a sandwich and my upper denture broke in half right down the middle. I phoned him and asked if he would fix it. He said to come in the next day and within less than 30 minutes it was fixed and he also fixed the crack which was a fault which shouldn't have been there in the beginning. The upper denture was quite thin on the palate and I was amazed to see he didn't reinforce it with a thin metal mesh which would have strengthened it. I don't feel confident it will last. He charged me $135.00 for a job which was very quick. So I’m left with a much worse gum ripper, a lower denture which looks bad and a bill for a broken 12 month old denture. Which I’m sure would have been fixed F.O.C. by any other technician. He was also very rude and accused me of lying, saying I probably dropped the denture which was not the case! So I’m a very unhappy “customer” I definitely would not recommend Essential Denture Clinic ([Name Removed]) to anyone. Dianne.
