Bought this robot the end of December 2024. It now has a know fault with the robot and eufy does not want anything to do with warranty in Australia. This is from there chat "We are very sorry, but we are not responsible for the warranty service of products sold by Australian distributors. provide you with any after-sales service." Great support eufy thanks. After a lot of discussion with Harvey Norman they replaced it with the e25 at a cost of $40 extra.
The Vacuum Menace: Dust Vader's Near-Perfect Performance – So I have always been against Robot Vacuums, seeing them as being a bit of a gimmick. My wife has always wanted one, and with her birthday coming up and me being fresh out of ideas, I thought surprising her with a robot vacuum would put me into the good books, despite it being a gimmick. And it did :) BUT in the end I have been pleasantly… Read more · 4
surprised by this little device, whom I have decided to name Dust Vader..
What I like about this unit; - It forces you (Pun intended) to keep your house clutter free... It is not until you have a robot vac that you realise how many things you have around the place, cables on the floor etc. Having this device makes us ensure things aren't just left on the floor (we are tidy people but life gets busy) - Mapping out the house was easy through the app. A little tip, get EVERYTHING out of the way that you can at least for this initial process. Getting the mapping right at the start makes a big difference. I learnt this after a few goes. That means removing chairs, mats, timber statues bought cheap in Bali etc. - The app is great, not that I have anything to compare to, but I like that it shows where it has been and you can select rooms and different cleaning modes etc. - It actually does a half decent job. It vacuums well and surprisingly the mopping function is effective also. NOTE - my house is 100% tiled, just have a large rug in the living room which the vacuum lifts up the mop for so it doesn't get wet. - The wife is happy
Minor things I don't like; - While the vacuum is bag-less, the base station requires a bag to operate. This would be fine except a genuine Eufy vacuum bag is $10 per bag and they are not big. This isn't a problem for us as our house isn't very dirty and 2 months in I haven't had to replace a bag yet. But for someone with multiple pets/mess I could imagine this becomes expensive quite quickly. There are 3rd party bags available, on a site that rhymes with memu, but I have not purchased or tried these so I can't comment if they are any good. I feel in this day and age bagged vacuums are a thing of the past and feels like a bit of a money grab. In saying that, I think the upfront purchase price is fair so maybe this is the trade-off. - It doesn't like floor mats, well at least the ones we use anyway. This isn't anything to do with Eufy but more of a robot vacuum problem. Just something to be conscious of before purchasing... have a good look around your house, floor level, and see what you would need to pick up every time you vacuum. - Because I bought it, and I like tech, I have now assumed the role of being responsible for vacuuming. What used to be my wife's responsibility, is now mine. I have assumed the role of Head of Vacuuming Operations which means I have to lift things up and get the robot going as she plays the 'I don't know how to use the app' card. Smart play on her part.
To summarise, I have been pleasantly surprised by this device. It is clever and does a great job of cleaning, both vacuuming and mopping. And my wife is happy which is a win for me...
