Euromaid CS505 / CWH405

Only 2.5 years before repairs requried – I purchased the Euromaid CS505 as it was the only model that would fit into the space to replace an old existing oven. It was purchased 2 years ago for $1099 and until a few weeks ago worked well although I don't use the oven very much. Recently I heard a bang as I turned it on and then the oven stopped working completely and only the cooktop remained active. The repairman has advised the element had gone and this had to be replaced at a cost of $250. I'm disappointed that a few years after purchase with minimal use I would need to spend 1/4 of the purchase price on repairs when other brands of ovens last for 10 years without issue.
OK – We purchased this oven because it was the only oven we found that would fit with the dimensions of our small kitchen. It is nice to look at, the hot plates heat up fast, and the oven works well. But it does not have a timer!! I didn't think of checking this when we bought it, as I presumed all ovens had a timer! The ceramic glass top is developing marks that I am too afraid to scrub at, in case I scratch the glass.
Overall the oven is ok, it does the job. Nice looking in the stainless steel finish, compact, not as bulky as other ovens No timer! The ceramic glass top is stated as being 'easy to clean' but mine has developed stubborn ring marks which are hard to remove
ceramic glass top clean with lemon juice keep applying until all is removed l had same problem l also used vieldea non scratch sponge with one coarse side
