Oven -5 stars, Grill -5 stars, Stove 4 stars – This is in a rental property that we're renting, OMG this oven is appalling!!! Can't obtain any consistent temperature in the oven. Oven door is extremely hot whilst in use, we can't have our children anywhere near the kitchen. Grill just burns everything directly underneath but nothing to the side. It redeems itself with a decent stove. We are… Read more
discussing the option of replacing this with our real estate agent. We'll move if this isn't replaced!
Renting a place with one - worst oven ever! – I can't even begin to describe how pathetic this oven is?! I've rented this place for 4 years, and it's one of the reasons I'm moving out. Can't cook any roast, etc. Any meat or cake takes 2-3 times longer than normal... but the oven itself gets scolding hot on the outside (dangerous!). The stovetop itself is good, but can't redeem the rest. The… Read more
grilling process is shocking -- on or off, not gradual options, and meant to install a shield that just blocks you from the grilling access. Even with the oven door closed, the knobs have half melted, and you can't touch them to turn them off when the oven is on (unless using a cloth); and they get so soft they don't always actually turn off anyway. Whole units should be recalled. All it's got going for it is it looks good.
Appalling! – This is the worst oven I've ever used. Do not waste your money. The stove top is ok but the oven is ridiculous- it is the exact opposite to my previous Westinghouse and Chef freestanding ovens. The euromaid takes forever to heat up, everything takes twice as long to cook (it takes as long to cook half a cake as the packet recommends for the entire… Read more
cake! Don't even bother trying to cook potato gems.), the oven handle and stove top get super hot, you can't light the grill for ages after you've had the oven lit and vice versa, the grill is the worst design imaginable and you can't see what your cooking as you have to fit a heat guard so you have to put your face right down at the same level as what your grilling which is bloody dangerous for such a temperamental appliance.
Basically unless you hate yourself or your tenants, are only going to ever use the stove top or want to lose some weight don't buy this oven.
Bought to update kitchen and shouldn't have wasted the money – Stove top fine . Oven terrible . Have to guess cooking times and temperatures when baking or you end up with burnt bottom and not cooked . Very hot surface . Laminate lifting off cupboard doors next to it - have to always open cupboard doors when using oven and now our ignition button has popped inside so have to light hot plates with a match and no idea how to light the oven now . Expected it to be better for the price . Show details
Cheapest AND BEST! – The cheapest 600mm Stainless Steel Gas Stove with (Sssooo important) Cast Iron Hobs. Very very very good! Easy to use, does everything one could ask for great results ALL the time, we can't understand the other negative feedbacks we've loved it from the start and have used it constantly for the last 4 years on L.P.G. (Even came with the extra… Read more
necessary Jets that not all Gas Stove Manufacturers can convert) and honestly couldn't ask for better! (The only very slight annoying thing is not having a pull-out heat shield for the Grille operation and having to fiddle a little to clip it in place BUT more than happy to live with that!)
Appalling – I should have known better .am real estate agent who buys an oven a week and I've never seen worse.burning hot to touch am worried the laminate cupboards will at least scald if not eventually ignite ,no oven light,no indication of how hot oven is . How do you grill a steak and have oven roasted vegetables, you can't. I'm embarrassed to have purchased . If this is what euromaid are capable of I certainly won't touch any of their products again
Still happy after over two years, love the cooktop and the design. Not ideal heat handling with oven – We bought our stove new and after daily use for over two years we're still very happy with it! Despite what other reviews here suggest it is not terrible at all, and we have never had any issues. I agree that the oven need a bit longer than normal to heat up and the thermostat is a little inaccurate, but not too bad, it's just a question of better… Read more
planning :) Also the front of the oven can become hott-ish but I have never had any issues opening the door or operating knobs as suggested.
Keep in mind though, it is a all gas stove top and oven, not electric. Heat production is different, but we are talking about live fire vs. produced heat here. Nice finish, well built, excellent trivets, overall a good stove Thermostat could be better, could use locator for trivets
GS60NG – we bought a Euromaid GS60NG today and bought it without reading the review. Now after reading the review I am afraid to use the grill and oven as they are so many complains about the usages and how hot it gets and also we have to use the grill guard while grilling otherwise the knobs would melt!!. I have not yet install it. I need advise please ASAP and should I return it?? it has big wok cooker on right side. Not used it yet so cannot comment.
GWH60NG – I wish I had read the reviews before buying this cooker - the oven is useless, the grill restricts anything being cooked high up in the oven such as leg of lamb and it doesn't seem to heat up until after a while at top temp - please take this model off the market. Looks good, 600cm and The pot drawer Oven temperature and design
Like Lori I'm very disappointed with model GWH60NG please help me with some cooking instructions for using oven.Joan
Terrible – The cooker was adapted for LPG when installed. The oven did not ccok but eventually things burnt at the bottom. The whole of the oven became very hot on the outside. It was nearly impossible to brown anything under the grill. After persitent complaining our gas fitter recieved new thermo-couples which he installed. The cooker was marginally better… Read more
the cooker would just cook if used at top heat but everything around the cooker got very hot. Only the central third of the grill worked and I could make toast if I continually turned the bread. The gas hob worked but was very slow. I also found the cooker very badly designed but that seemed hardly relevant. I complained and complained so eventually they gave me my money back. I now have a chef 540 made for LPG which is just fine. I dealt with people who worked for Euromaid The grill did not work. The oven did not work but got very hot on the out side.
Same problem outside of oven dangerously hot to touch, afraid will start a fire with having enclosed cabinets between the stove.........
Appalling stove – The only reason I bought this stove was because it was: a) One of two available models which would fit the 600 mm space available b) Was supposed to replace the Chef cooker which had previously served me quite well. c) Unlike its predecessor, had the minumum of electronic gadgetry to go wrong However, it has turned out to be quite the… Read more
worst stove I have ever had to try to cook with!
To begin with, the grill is ridiculous - with the shield in place, it is impossible to see what is happening to the items on the griller - and the knobs which it is supposed to protect get overheated anyway. To make matters worse, the toast or whatever is under the grill cooks unevenly, and the grill tray has to be removed to reposition the food!
Then there is the oven. The temperature 'gauge' is wildly innaccurate - an oven thermometer shows anything up to a fifty degree difference between the setting and the actual temperature. Added to this is the fact that there is no external indicator to show that the oven has reached the temperature for which it was set.
A test with an old fashioned oven thermometer showed that it took 25 minutes for the oven to reach 200C - and resetting the gauge for a lower temeperature to 180C - a fairly frequently used level, saw the temperature drop to around 150C.
The grill tray also reduces the usable space within the oven, so that a casserole dish of normal proportions has to be positioned well below the centre of the oven, and a medium sized chicken, if roasted on a rack, must be similarly positioned below the oven centre, for which the previously mentioned innacurate temperature gauge is supposed to be set!!
Finally, the temperature control cannot be set below 130C, which means that food requiring long slow cooking at a low temperature, such as meringues, or confit of duck, are theoretically at least, impossible to cook in this oven. Of course, the fact that it does not actually reach the temperature indicated on the gauge may in this case be an advantage, but there is always the chance that, after an hour or two it might actually climb to the minimum setting, and thus ruin the slowly braising duck or pork.
This stove is a cook's nightmare, good only for warming pizzas in cheaply remodelled budget apartments, and should be sold with a warning to that effect for potential buyers. The burners work The grill, the oven - see the above 'experience' notes
After reading this I agree with every detail & now know why I'm tearing my hair out everytime I need to use the oven-what can I do about such a dud?
Terrible – The stove was fitted and adjusted for LPG. I struggled with it, the grill would only cook toast if you put in exactly the right spot and kept on turning it. The oven only cooked after along time burning the bottom of the food and not even browning the top. After numerous complaints our gas fitter was sent adifferent thermo-couple to instal it made… Read more
things marginally betterthe grill worked only in the middle third still entailed some turning the oven would just about work if I used full temperature all the time I was getting frustrated and did not seem to be getting anywhere. Euromade was moving its depots I spoke to Theo who sensed my frustration and gave me refund. I now have a chef which works just fine
euromaid Complaints were delt with by the company. It did not work grill, oven and to a lesser extent hob.
18 months of problems – Grill didn't brown and biggest ring on stovetop took best part of 5 minutes to boil very hot solar heated water. Improved by gasfitter but never as good as our previous gas stove (Chef). Oven door always super hot and needed protection on your hands to open. Oven racks made of soft steel and would sag under the weight of cast iron casserole. … Read more
Just before the 1 yr warranty ran out (phew!), the oven thermostat failed and nuked our Christmas cake at 150C after 1.5 hours. Warranty repairman went on holiday to Bali so no repairs for 2 weeks and no Chrissie cake! Glass came away from door.
At 18 months oven knob has lost its grip. It's useable but hard to know what temperature you're cooking at.
Brushed stainless steel is showing rust on high points. Not covered under extended warranty.
Extended warranty (The Good Guys Horizon) has agreed to replace the stove but doesn't cover the cost of transport, fitting and conversion to natural gas. Oven drawer for storing cast iron grill plate and wok trivet, baking trays and roasting pan. It cooked cakes beautifully (only slightly hotter at the back of the oven to the front) but marks on oven control difficult to read.. Too many problems too soon. I'm amazed the hot oven door met the Australian safety standard.
