Absolute junk! 5 months out of warranty and the company won't touch it! – This thing has lived in my garage. No camping, no corrugated roads, no rough treatment at all. Not a scratch on it. I turn it on a couple times a year (Easter, Christmas, parties) when I need a second fridge for drinks when guests are over. Had a 2 year warranty, and in that time it was far too noisy to have it as a camp fridge (no way others… Read more
campers would have put up with the rattles and whines), so just kept it in the garage.
Sure as the sun rises, just out of warranty it stops cooling. Contacted them and they washed their hands of it. I expect a fridge to last a lot longer than 2.5 years. Will be following through with my consumer rights shortly.
DO NOT BUY EVAKOOL PRODUCTS!! The product is poor quality, and they don't back their product at all.
Receipt attached, genuine buyer VERY unhappy with their horrible service.
Wary of company – Was thinking of buying another eva cool product, but not interested in chinese junk, cannot understand companies that do not look after customers, bad news travels fast, just ask Jeep.
Did a good job – Purchased in 2017 during Easter sales from SCA. For the price it did as described and the draw is such a good idea. Good design just cheap parts which reflects the price - $750 for 70L is amazing. Has to work quite hard if ambient temps are high but It can take a beating offroad. The lcd's die overtime - by the end of its life I couldn't tell… Read more
what temp it was set to. Would occasionally throw codes it it was easy to fault find.
After 3 years of use and abuse she finally died on me and it's well out of warranty. I wish I got longer out of it but I enjoyed the time that I had
Poor quality – Used 10 times tops have not used due to covid ran out of warranty in that time went to use since restrictions lifted not getting cold contacted evakool to be told sorry out of warranty .I recommended this unit because of the draw to slot of people but now would not recommend them although it had a two year warranty most well made products last… Read more
much longer than the warranty period this tells you the type of product and people you are dealing with will buy assume only Steve
Used twice, had lots of issues, now doesn't cool down at all – Bought as a christmas present. Used it once no issues, used it on a big trip away for the second time and were having issues not even an hour from home. We had issues that whole trip with power. It now doesnt cool down at all. Love the design of it but hate how unreliable it is. My partners engel lives on the back of the ute in all kinds of… Read more
weather and hes had it for years with no issues at all. Going to get it fixed and sell it then buy another engel. I would much rather spend the extra money and know were not going to have our food go off in the middle of no where.
Will not work – Purchased 2 years and 2 months ago. Have literally used this fridge once on my rear patio. Has been stored wrapped up since. You only have to see the condition of this fridge and you can tell it is brand new, however now it will not work, When on 12v it shows and error code (low voltage) the battery shows 12.8 volts. When plugged into 240v it… Read more
shows a different error code (compressor or module error). Rang Evakool knowing full well that the warranty period is up, but thought they might be able to offer some ideas on the matter. The ONLY advice I received was, " take it to an agent for repair which I would have to pay for" I guess I expected too much a
No support for warranty – Warranty not honoured by company. Negative customer experience from dealing with [name removed] warranty manager. Place of purchase being Supercheap Auto honoured warranty at their expense. Great fridge, keeps beer extra cold, love the drawer. No after sales service received. Show details
Bad service poor warranty – I had a defective finish on the lid of my fridge and when I spoke to Tracy at evakool she said it is not a warranty claim. I took it back to supercheap and they did fix the problem at their costs. Supercheap said there was a problem with the lid and it should have been evakool warranty issue. Not happy at all with evakool not standing by there… Read more
product, very poor. One week later the control panel face just fell off. I contacted Tracy at evakool once again but she really didn't want to have anything to do with this warranty claim as well. She replied "just get some super glue and glue it up". Really no warranty with evakool at all. I suggest if you are looking for a fridge spend a little more and get a better fridge with a real warranty. Never again will I buy an evakool product. Chinese product backed and sold by incompetent evakool company.
Works well .but no good tie down points – I got the ridge ryder a couple of years ago and it does work well as a fridge or freezer .my only issue is tying it down.the handles are rivnutted on to thin plate and not strong enough to keep a full fridge secure when off roading.i would not buy another Show details
A must have for the 4wd & Camping enthusiast – I have been looking for a while for the perfect upgrade from our much smaller portable fridge, I was so happy when i found this in my local supercheap auto. The 63 Litre Drawer Ridge Ryder Fridge/Freezer is made exclusively by Evakool, they are a well known Australian owned and operated fridge manufacture that operate out of Brisbane which also… Read more
gave me peace of mind when purchasing their product.
THE GOOD:
- 63 litre capacity (21lt draw & 42lt top basket) Drawer can hold up to 24 CANS.
- NO FRIDGE SLIDE REQUIRED, this is money saver for the back of the 4wd
- Two year EvaKool nationwide warranty
- Temperature range setting -18°C to 10°C
- Durable metal lid
- Multi voltage system DC (12 and 24Volt) and AC (240Volt) operation
- Easy to read LED display
- Two speed setting with turbo performance
- Amp draw while running is 4.5 amps/h & 6amp/h on turbo mode
THE BAD
- Can't stand a 2lt milk bottle or drink bottle without losing the use of slide out draw.
- No transit cover bag available
Apart from the 2 minor negatives this fridge is truly amazing and i don't think anyone would be disappointed with it after buying it. Also don't pay full retail, wait for a special which happens a lot or contact evakool to buy a seconds for half the price :)
