Has been a winner – I have owned this fridge now for over 5 years and it has never missed a beat. Only time was when the vehicle rolled on to its side, the fridge was understandably unhappy with that treatment but after being turned off for a couple of hours it was fine. Cape York trip for 5 weeks, one side on freezer at -14, the other side fridge at zero and had no… Read more
issues keeping things frozen when running off the car dual battery system. Periodically goes away for long weekends camping and is great in the Darwin tropical temperatures. It also goes under the cast deck in my boat for up to 4-5 days as well getting hammered about. Highly recommend. Power usage is line with manufacturer specs and not excessive for it's size. I generally run the fridge 2 degrees lower than the digital readout to achieve the internal temperatures desired.
Fridge works well, no issues with workability. That refrigerate noise that is really annoying – Quite Noisy, constant gurgling, even in comparison with the same make and size fridge at repairer. Have personally sent it twice to have it assessed, repairer wasn't sure how to fix the noise, and the bloke from everkool rejected the claim. Saying Its normal to make this noise, shouldn't be set below -10° ( factory can be set -16 ) and then to add… Read more
salt to the wound... the purchase recipe ( noticed by everkool) states this fridge was bought from BCF as a " damaged " item ! When it was sold to me as the last one/ discontinued - no problems mate. Well.. I would put up with the noise if was deaf, se what fare trading has to say , just to be clear, fridge works as advertised, but this one's just to Noisy.
Has been a great fridge – Fridge is now 6 years old and never missed a beat. Ran 24/7 for 6 weeks up Cape York doing the telegraph track with freezer one side, fridge the other. Beers were cold, frozen food stayed frozen including the ice creams. Intermittently used for camping and boat trips mainly otherwise. Have had several other fridges over the years and would rate it better than a Waeco CF80 Show details · 1
Piece of crap! – If you only want to use it in Tasmania, then it just might be ok. Anywhere else in Aus, in Spring, Summer or early Autumn, forget it. The freezer will struggle to keep -10 on a 24°c day. The fridge set at +2 will only keep +6, AND the compressor will run continuously. If it is 30°c day, then the freezer will maybe get -1 and fridge +10. Save your money and buy a decent fridge. Show details
I have a fridge that is less than three years old and can’t get it to cool – I have a fridge that can with a second hand camper that I can’t get to cool. I can’t be any clearer than that. Wi-Fi setting is garbage. There’s no quick and easy connection. There’s no support and the majority of people with problems are told to return the fridge to a service centre. Better off with a 40 litre plastic Engel. Show details
Evakool 36litre dual zone fridge freezer – I have owned a 36l Evakool fridge/freezer for 8 years and as we are grey nomads travelling Oz it works pretty much all day every day. When we stop for a while it is on 240v but when we travel it is on 12v and we have done 90,000 ks in the van with the fridge in the back of the tow vehicle. Have only had one fault in that time $150 to fix and has… Read more
not stopped since. I am looking to upgrade to a 50L Glacier but the negative reviews on this site have me thinking twice. Jon
So far only one fault – The fridge/freezer was purchased for camping off grid. On our last two camps away the fridge stopped working and we couldn't workout why when the battery level showed 12.something (enough power to keep it running). At the last camp we thought everything was going OK but once again the alarm went off and it stopped working. We were recharging the… Read more
camper batteries with a solar panel. With the wet weather and thunderstorms we decided to go home early. So frustrating and disappointing. We found the problem once we were home reviewing the instruction manual. There is a misprint on page 3 of the instruction book with the battery voltage diagram (the one at the bottom of the page which my husband followed). It shows LO cuts out at 11v MED cuts out at 12v HI cuts out at 12.5v but should be the other way around with HI at the top. So if you buy one follow the diagrams at the top of the page and put a big black X through the one at the bottom. Once we changed this and tested it out in the camper it ran well and stopped when the battery level reached 11.1. This has been our only problem otherwise the fridge runs great and keeps everything cold.
Camping gamechanger – Bought during one of their factory seconds sales because the price was too good to miss. Took on a week camping trip in Jan, 40*c heat running off a 115Ah battery and 160w solar panel. Running as fridge/freezer we had cold meat/drinks and frozen ice poles which I've never had camping before. Temperature range fluctuates a little but I think… Read more
that's near the top of the fridge so not a massive problem. I have been using this as an overflow freezer at home. Only issue I've had is that when running for extended periods the condensation builds up around the top and can get into the LED light housing and cause the lights to dim. Some silicone in there should fix the issue.
Very Disappointing product not once but twice – Started with an Evakool Glacier 80lt but has an issue with in warranty took it back to a repair/dealer and he found a internal gas leak. submitted warranty claim and Evakool said that the unit was no longer available but they gave me a duel zone 75lt (same external size) and i was was told buy them it was a much better unit. it lasted 1 camping… Read more
trip and then i get the 2 flash fault (fan issue). no problem look online and found the answer replaced the fan worked for about 2 days and once battery voltage started to get low same fault 2 flashes. Return home and plug in to the wall again same fault 2 flashes.
all in all i have had 2 fridges in about 4 years and both have failed miserably i am very disappointed in this manufacturer and will never buy another on or recommend one to anyone. But they would make a good boat anchor. Mathew

Unreliable – I bought mine 2 and a half years ago but have only used it for 4 weeks in total as it is used with our camper trailer and we spend more time away in a caravan with which we take a 40 liter engel . Well the Everkool has done 2 short trips and failed on both occasions. Due to its unreliability we have bit the bullet and bought a 60 liter Engel … Read more
November 18th 2019 Update: Follow on for Glacier 75
I had dropped the refrigerator into Everkool in Caloundra and they informed me today that it had an internal gas leak. To fix it they were going to take the baskets out and put a new evaporator on the inside of fridge making the baskets unusable and at a cost of $300. They would except no responsibility even though it was explained to them that an internal leak is a fault not caused by the customer.
November 22nd 2019 Update: Unreliable
Fridge is only 2 and a half years old has done 2 trips 1for a week and another to Fraser for 2 weeks Failed on both occasions luckily we were off the Island in Hervey Bay when it failed the second time so we had access to fresh food. Have taken it to Evekool for assessment . Glad I wasnt on a big trip somewhere.
Good morning Grahame, thank you for your… Read more
Best thing we have bought for camping – I spent nearly 12 months trying to decide on a fridge. Loved the ARB 60L, but wasn't dual zone and too long for the Pajero's boot. Engel was way too expensive for nothing extra, no true dual zone. Waeco CF series had terrible electronics, hinges, catches and lid. Burnt before. CFX series came out after I bought mine, but seem much better. … Read more
Then stumbled on the Glacier series. The large 75ltr fits perfect in the boot. True dual zone. Larger BD50 compressor. Dual lid. And at less than $1000 with cover on a show special, I was sold.
Have dragged it to both ends of Australia and never a single fault. Having the option of a freezer makes touring so much easier. We premake a lot of meals or baby food and just pull one out every morning to defrost and tea is ready to go that night. Otherwise its used for drinks. Uses pretty much exactly what the advertised current draw is.
Would definitely buy another one.
Initial test looks good – Bought direct from Evakool the 25th anniversary edition (they had a special price with cover - much cheaper than anywhere else). Looks good so far, but have only tested it on mains power for 24 hours so far. Temperatures seem reasonably accurate compared to a thermometer. Fast shipping - ordered Sunday and arrived on Wednesday. Also had wifi… Read more
connectivity which was a bonus not listed on the advert - handy to track temperature movements. Will test it out further while camping in a few months and give an update.
Love my Evakool – We bought this fridge over 12 months ago and have been on the road full time since July 17. We have set our 75 litre dual zone to run at -10 degrees on the left side and 0 degrees on the right. I can't fault it, the fridge is on a slide in the back of the ute and has been running now 24/7 for the last 9 months. Not only is it reliable but due to… Read more
the thick insulation the fridge doesn't cycle very often thereby saving battery power. Would I ever buy another one, in a heart beat.

Digital Readout wild variations – Made a big mistake You would think a Fridge Freezer Digital readout in a modern fridge would read around what you want your food or drinks to be. Apparently thats not the case. This one when set on 4 degrees goes up to 8 and down to 1 degrees. Really a big concern with a large fridge in the Outback full of very valuable food , not knowing if… Read more
the fridge is actually doing its job.
After 2 weeks a Technician finally rang about this and Told us a variation of 5 degrees above and 2 below is normal, when I questioned why my old Failed FM70 Evakool had a even readout of Temperature he told me it was where the sensors are located.
So in fact the Glacier has the Sensors located badly .
poor build quality – purchased the glacier 75l dual zone just over two years ago been used about 4 trips won't cool down pulled the ispection panel off bout 30 washers fell out for a start, had it checked out to find that it has dropped its gas and is not repairable all evakool offerd was a small discount on new fridge, no thanks evakool wont get burned twice. Error codes – We bought a 75 l glacier for our new camper as it was what fitted the best on the fridge slide. We picked up our camper 2weeks ago and and installed the fridge into its new home on its slide. I did some testing with the fridge and it run fine for a week. It was turned off for a couple of days and got turned back on to load some frozen stuff in it… Read more
for our first camping trip. It run fine for a bit and then error code 2 flashes, fan. Turned it off and tried again and it's back on and working. Couple of hours later same thing 2 flashes. Not a good first experience with evakool and will wait to hear a reply from them. Hopefully it can be resolved quickly as its now Tuesday and we go camping Friday lunch

Temperature Control Poor – Set Freezer and Fridge up and froze both sides. Appears to not like running both modes at once. Set at -15c and it allows fridge to go to -10c. Set Fridge to 4c and it went to -6 c. Froze all the drinks and lucky I took the beer out. Will continue to test then ring Evakool.
It appears if you use left hand side for fridge and right (larger side) for freezer it works ok. … Read more
Didn't survive one outback trip – The fridge started having problems just 6 hours into the trip. Kept producing an error code that there wasn't enough voltage. Had it set to lowest battery setting and no change. Both had damage upon return from thin inner lining. Do not waste your money. Both had dents all through the thin alloy lining with some items penetrating the base. This is… Read more
by far the worst 2 fridges I have ever owned. Took the one that didn't even work back to store but it too 2 months to get a refund. Never again. Also bought a G75 split fridge freezer. If you load the freezer and freeze it expect the items in your fridge to freeze as well. You can only use it as a complete fridge or freezer not both. As with the D80 the D75 was full of dents and one hole in the base from a frozen water bottle. The wire insert bends and allows items to impact the base causing damage. Thought that I had bought a bargain at $800ea but should have bought an Engel :(
The other guys on the trip named it "The Microwave"
Very Disappointed – Purchased Feb 15 to take on a 8 day camping holiday worked for 3 days then only the fan stayed on constantly no compressor. Had to throw most food out after 4 days. Still waiting for RV Superstore to contact me on replacement. Maybe I was just unlucky but certainly not happy.
