Won't ever use speed dating event Brisbane again! – I have also paid to attend an event at speed dating event in Brisbane and on the day got an email saying that I didn't pay and wasn't book in. I email them my credit card bill to show them that the money has went through and they sill didn't accept even when I ask for the money back or wouldn't talk to me over the phone about the issue. They were… Read more
even so rude in the emails that I was so shock when I read the emails. Not good business. Would not gave good rates, as they are only after your money.
Paid girls – I was contacted the last minute to attend a dating session on Chapel St Melbourne. I turned up to find out that some of girl in the meeting are awfully familiar. I initially didn't notice anything wrong as I was a re-attending until I initiated a dead-end conversation with these girls. However, I particularly knew these girls because there were… Read more
extremely unresponsive. They didn't show slightest interest in being there, turned away their faces almost always and they often left immediately after. I eventually concluded that because FI could not fill in the seats they decided to do the wrong thing and pay some girls to rock up and just to fill in the seats.
That is my theory that was confirmed by many guys and girls.
asian speed dating – I paid $89.00 for speed dating event only to have the event cancelled 1 hour before it was due to start. I was given a lifetime non refundable credit and offered events well out of my criteria. I considered it a scam just like it's sister dating site P.O.F app.
Crap Impressions – I was a Fast Impressions member for several years and regularly attended the events. I only went to discounted events as it wasn't worth the $90 full price for dodgy food and a few glasses of sparkling. Disappointed they suddenly ceased without an explanation to members. At least my inbox isn't flooded with their emails anymore to inappropriate… Read more
events. Most were over my age limit and often were for events in another city! Or often I would get texts about the events that already had happened. One of the last events was at one of the dodgiest pubs in Parramatta where the host was very unfriendly and unwelcome. Have joined Sydney Speed Dating but hoping another company will start up and fill the gap Fast Impressions couldn't.
It's okay to go occasionally – I went to the first meeting about 7 years ago and to the second one recently (I don't date much as you can see). If you wait till the day before the event, the price is much cheaper (from half price to about a quarter of full price, especially for men, a species always in demand since many die young at war or because they are married :) ). In the… Read more
two meetings I have attended there was nobody I felt strikingly interesting and I had the feeling I was attending a job interview with all the other applicants also present. Having said that, nobody found me interesting either. Hence, if your friends are busy and you need to talk to someone, other than your psychologist, you can always book last minute to meet uninteresting people who will also find you uninteresting. One could say that, at the end of the day (or night), it's a 'win-win' situation if you pay only a quarter of the price. :) Expect cheap champagne and frozen Coles spring-rolls, but for $30 it's okay; if, like me, you only go occasionally until you lie flat on your grave without the need for anybody else in your life. :)
bad impressions – I am convinced after attending a number of events over the last 2 years that fast impressions is an elaborate scam. I attended an event one month ago, once again they were short of women so a few guys had to miss dates. Just to test the session i selected all 8 women as matches to see what response i would get. The next day I only got 1 match.… Read more
Now fast impressions only share email addresses of your chosen match no phone numbers. I emailed the supposed match but never got a reply via email.. The highlight for me for the event was the finger food! The dates were quite ordinary. It's a scam. Don't waste your money
Will not use again – I have been attending Fast Impressions regularly for 15 months and have been to many of their events. I believe that they generally run a good night and compared to other dating places it is very good value for money. The problem I have found is the quality of the females who attend. On many occasions I was matched with a lady only for them to not… Read more
return my calls/messages or say they are too busy. I find this very rude on behalf of the ladies that go and sometimes you have to wonder why do they attend such events? There should be more of an emphasis on the females doing the work, such as contacting their matches. This way it might sort out the genuine women from the non-genuine ones. I have been other single events to and it is the same where the women seem to be there for more a girls night out. This is very disappointing for the men as they to me seem to be all genuinely looking for a relationship.
Bad Impressions – Sort your house out Fast Impressions! After vowing to give up 5 months ago due to low female turn out and cancelled events I stupidly decided to sign up to two more events these past two weeks. On both events: surprise surprise, girls didn't turn up and the guys were left shorthanded again, having to sit out multiple dates - that they were… Read more
guaranteed - with the hostess! I understand if girls tend to be more flaky and bail at the last minute, but it's always the women who don't turn up, so in future book more gals then guys, and maybe let the women sit out at the bar for once.
And while you're at it, how about giving every poor person who got shafted a free entry into another one of your events, or at least a discount? At the least then they might give you a second chance before they decide your events are a crock of shlt!
Fast Impressions have really gone down hill in the last 6 months – Fast Impressions was acquired by Plenty Of Fish last year and has since really gone down hill. I have been doing speed dating with them for a couple of years now and I have really noticed the difference. There use to be 12-18 couples a night, these days you are lucky to get 8, and they charge the same; also most were called that day to fill up… Read more
numbers. The venues are quite terrible these days, many quite far out of CBD or dodgy quiet bars that people never go to.
They organise horrible themed events recently. The popular ones like Uni Educated and Professionals are seldomly run while they hold heaps of unpopular events like Vegetarian, Slender Women, Christian, Tradies, Asian Women, and most of them are for late 40s and early 50s. I am getting calls from them every week these days to fill up spaces for age groups that are decades above what I am at. I am in my early 30s yet I get called to events for 50+ (seriously?). If you run popular events people would book in themselves, and you wouldn't have to go around desparetely cold calling people to attend events that are not in their age category.
I have decided to switch companies to Sydney Speed date unless Fast impressions gets their act together.
Absolute Rubbish – Location location location. But this was Rubbish rubbish rubbish. Dont waste your money The theme was fitness singles it should have been called fat singles Unequivocally a barrage of false advertising by fast impressions. This speed dating nonsense is only for desperate people, i looked at their website they proclaim on an add in a video… Read more
showing more than 10 guys and ten girls in a fancy restaurant with 3 course meals and dates. A current affair should be more honest as well because they rambled on about how fancy this was.
Anways i joined and booked for a fitness singles, when i got there to the at the park royal parramatta it was 1.Some crummy finger foods just some raw veggies
2.Some cheap sparkling.
3.Then they were short on 4 women the host had to fill in
4. There was only one woman who was fit the rest looked fat and ugly
5. It should have been fat singles not fit singles
6. I attended again and it was worse 3 girls turned up instead of the promised ten.
Fast impressions should take that stupid add off their site because its misleading.
Do not go to the themed ones because they are the worst
I noticed that you get invites for about 29 to 39 dollars, they call it half price.. My butt!!
I wouldnt pay more than $20 for this crap. Its not worth the initial $80 per person, but if others dont show up they charge and invite others for very cheap. Thats not right.
Anyways i wouldnt even go if they paid me i talk to plenty of girls, i dnt have to pay some low life scum of a company to meet up with other people who are unfit, unattractive and false advertising by fast impressions.
Save your money. Don't do it – Pretty sure they spend all their effort on advertising instead of organising. I've attended two events and both advertised lots of games to get you mingling. At both all that happened was your were given a card to match up with someone else's and no instructions on what to do with it. The first event was $50 and turned out to be running in one… Read more
corner of a bar where other people had entered for free and were having things like hens parties!
I got talking with guys who told me they were just there to make up the numbers as they were friends with the organiser. A friend also told me she had previously been to one of their events only to discover not only were most of the guys the organisers friends they were also married. She took them to the office of fair trading over it.
This company is a massive rip off. You might meet someone to hook up with for the night but then he's going home to his wife!!!!
Unbelievably poor! Save yourself the trouble – I paid $90 to attend a Post Graduate event where I was supposed to meet 10-12 university educated men. On the night, only 9 showed up, 3 of whom had been offered free spots to make up numbers and did not have any university qualifications or fit the criteria. The male host (with extremely bad body odour) joined in to make up numbers and seemed… Read more
to forget that he was being paid to run the night. It was completely inappropriate and unprofessional for both the men and the women at the event. I complained afterwards and the customer service team don't want to know about it. Definitely won't waste $90 and 2 hours of my time with Fast Impressions again.
Poorly organised, company doesn't care about satisfaction, only your money
A Service the Gives a D-Word – I've tried speed dating with other agencies and Fast Impressions definitely takes pride in its work. For instance, Sydney Speed Dating is run by elitist snobs who kick you out if you earn less than 60k and blacklist you immediately afterwards. With Fast Impressions, the host(esse)s go out of their way to make you feel comfortable in a room full… Read more
of strangers who can seem judgemental at times. Even though I've left empty-handed on more than one occasion, I still come back for more, if only because some of the venues (particularly singles parties) are held in some of the nicest places in Sydney.
If you're tired of internet dating and want to speak to someone face-to-face, I'd recommend Fast Impressions. You can date a diverse range of people. For intance, there's "Asian Speed Dating", "Toyboy Speed Dating", "Travel Lovers Speed Dating" etc. Recently they've been hosting most of their events in hotel conference rooms. Not the most romantic of places.

Know better, choose better.
Dating gone bad... or was it originally so?! – Grossly disappointed in Fast Impressions! I was very excited to join & have been a member for over 2 years now, regularly visiting events (grossing a good spend, might I add) and even became an elite member in the last half a year. However the rules have gone ridiculous and customer service is out the window in the past 2 months! What… Read more

I called & requested to be put on a waitlist for sold out event, didn't get any updates via email or phone, rang back on the day of the event & found out I was never put on the waiting list, and there were free spots that came earlier in the week and got taken!! Didn't even get as much as a "sorry" for it!
I've bought several vouchers from the deals sites that offered a good discount for the events, and they've been going great with myself and a few friends I've introduced to FF. A month ago I buy another voucher and I'm now told, these vouchers are now exclusive to new members only... Ok... I guess it's fair that you don't want to give discounts to loyal members, who've already spent money with you (is it???)
Used to get quite a few SMSs and emails, promoting discounts to loyal members on events - either special ones or last moment fill ups. These stopped 3 months ago. I've asked the customer service on my last call what happened there and was dryly advised that "we don't offer these anymore". Ok... no rewards for loyal members anymore... Is there a point of being a loyal member then?
The last straw was today! I booked in for an event for tomorrow night several weeks back, however I've been called in to a hospital last moment, which I cannot cancel. I do understand that I need to give 7 days notice for credit to be moved to another event, but this particular situation is out of my control, surely a loyal member with a track record of well-spending $$ get an exception once (please check my account if I ever cancelled before)?? Nooo, wrong! I've been told the only way I can get a credit, if I provide a doctor's certificate, stating that I am infectious to other attendees. But I'm not infectious, I need to go to the hospital for a health matter, which has nothing to do with an infection or chronic illness!! Oh, well, in this case, you don't qualify for a refund, I'm told quite rudely. At that point, I'm actually upset to the point I ask the customer service representative to kindly close my member account, as I'm disappointed at the service and the way the company has changed. All I get in response is a half-muttered 'Yeah, whatever' and I get hanged up on!!
This has gone sour, FF. If you don't appreciate your loyal members and just want a quick money grab, than my business is going elsewhere. I'll make sure I'll be advising my friends, who've I've previously referred to you also, and passing my feedback on FF to anyone interested.
#badcustomerservice - Opportunity to meet new people, discounts and special treatment that was offered to existing members until 3 month ago. Now it's just all about taking & no giving back. - Greedy, money-grabbing machine, that doesn't care for any of its existing or new members. Only want your money and they'll keep it in any way they can!
No refunds for changes – Booked into a Fast Impressions event at a nice cocktail bar in Canberra, was told a few days later that the venue had changed to a dodgy pub. Asked for a refund and was refused - saying that somehow the event had not changed. Even when I took it to the office of fair trading who pointed out similar issues with their policies, still refused a… Read more
refund. Be very careful!! Know that they seem to think they reserve the right to change anything at the last minute so steer well clear of this company!!! NA Refusal of refund when core service changed
Woeful – Fast Impressions, like so many of the dating agencies is little other than a money making CON. It uses fancy advertising to lure you into paying to attend their events however the demographics of those attending seldom match the marketing promises. I've been to one marketed as "globetrotters" and hardly any of the ladies even had a passport! The… Read more
one marketed as "fit and trim" reveal attendees probably challenged by the prospect of waddling to their letter box..... Well organised, slick money making operation False marketing, not real attention give to meeting the promises made, preys on emotions
Fast Impressions is a good way to meet people and have a great time (Do not expect quick results!) – Having been going to Fast Impressions parties for 'ages', I must say I always have a great time. I have met a lot of great people over the years and make new friends. Having said that, you will be disappointed if you would like to get into a long term relationship by expecting to attend only a few speed dating or single parties events. From my… Read more
perspective, the success rate at Fast Impressions is not high so please lower your expectations and just focus on having a good time and make new friends. Who knows? You may meet someone special at Fast Impressions and you may not! Overall, it is good for having a party! That is all! Happy times, great company, professional organisation, great service, fantastic atmosphere They achieve everything except for the success rate of getting people into long term relationships, but once again, this is due to many factors including luck.
