Fiido C11 City E-bike
MPN: C111 review
The bike is good overall. I had a small folding 250w electric one from Leitner and the speed was seriously compromised. Here are the good bits: - goes fast! 40km/h, which is actually too fast when cycling on tree-lined cycle lanes with several cars in/out junctions. Ride responsibly. - good position seat/handle bars angle - the battery seems to… Read more
last more than a week for my work commutes, but this may deteriorate with time. - 7 gears (I only use the top one for danger free straight lines stretched and reach high speed... it goes!) - brake light - off the light go with button is adequate - you can ride it with flat battery easily (my previous bike had so much resistance! no free pedalling when the battery was flat) The would be good to have: - the handle grip diameter/thickness is too small for my (average) hands, so inadequate for size and padding/comfort The very bad (in my opinion) - the worst and very annoying thing is that the battery is not "locked"/turned off by the key, only by pressing a button on the battery. The key is only to remove the battery from the bike. So, say you ride, and stop for a quick purchase of a baguette at the bakery, you get off the bike and press the button to turn the battery off and walk away...BUT anyone can steel the bike and RIDE AWAY FAST because they can activate the battery without the key! This seems like a massive oversight/bad design! so, if you get off the bike for a quick stop, you need to locked it with your chain or locking device. So annoying! - also, it is advertised as a 500w MOTOR, and mine says 250w printed on the motor! I questioned this with Electrix (reseller in Australia) and they vouch it is a 500w motor. Although the final gear is fast, I question if it is really a 500w motor as the torque figure aligns with all other 250w motors. I am unconvinced with their questionable reply that it is the details they get from Fiido.com website, as the Fiido website shows* a motor with 500w written on it! see image attached (*the US site no longer shows any markings but the pic on the Electrix site still does (https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0034/7504/6445/files/fiido-c11-electric-bike-feature-torque-motor.jpg?v=1711437786). I wish I could get my motor tested. The bike is good but I want to pay for what is advertised.
