Great when they work
I've had my Berlin cruiser for five years, its a great bike when it works.
I purchased a new battery a couple of months ago, it probably has 50 kilometres on it and then the bike stopped working.
I contacted Leitner and the guys suggested it was the controller, so they sent me a new controller (non refundable), that didn't work, so they sent me a new monitor (non refundable), that didn't work.
They suggested another part, however I'm over playing this game and the bike is headed for the tip.
Great bike when it works, but you are on you own when it breaks down.
Purchased in at Leitner for $1,400.
folding bikes step through models
These are perfect for travelling, we fold them both up and they fit very well in the back of our Duel Cab DMAX with our Engel fridge freezer and Camp ovens for when we go travelling with our Caravan, highly recommend

Misled by the reviews here
I have to be honest, I think most of the Leitner reviews here are fake. I bought this bike because all of the Leitner bikes have such high reviews here. The bike itself is average I would say. There is very little suspension on the bike so it is quite a rough ride. Also the seat wont tighten, it seems to be broken, so it moves like a see-saw when I ride it. It has given me a lot of lower back pain when using it due to the suspension issue. I wouldn't recommend it overall.

This is perfect. The best folding bike
I had this bike for 4 years and only sold it to buy another Leitner. My Libelle went everywhere with me. It's easy to fold, easy to ride, zooms up hills, with some ebike don't, and she never let me down. The new owner loves it.

Excellent Product
Picked up a Leitner Libelle and a Super T in mid March 2023.
Both were purchased with the 15 amp hour battery option to help with battery longevity.
Prior to ordering I was given very valuable advice by Kitty regarding the bikes that would physically suit myself and my wife. Her advice totally changed our intentions.
I was also able to arrange to meet one of Leitner's "ambassadors" (who readily give up their time without recompense) to physically see one of the bikes. (It was 5 years old, had been well used, but was still in good condition). T

Not good
Hate to break the trend of glowing reviews but I have to say the bike didn't quite meet my expectations. It definitely is not as powerful as a full-sized ebike - it's still a struggle to go up hills even on max power. Battery doesn't last very long although I did only get the default small battery. It has a general "creaky" feel when riding it and I notice the seat pole is starting to warp a bit which makes sliding it in and out of the bike quite difficult. The folding and unfolding mechanism is also not as seamless as it should be but not sure
... Read more if that's an issue with all folding bikes. Overall it's not a bad bike but it definitely is not as "pleasant" to ride as my old full-size ebike. Perhaps there are just too many compromises to make if you want the convenience of portability. Update: Well after just over a year of owning it and less than 300km ridden the battery barely lasts me 5km now. I contacted Leitner who said the battery probably died and offered to send me a new one for $440. Don't think it's great to have to spend another $440 to get more than one year of use out of a $1400 ebike! Downgrading my rating from 3 stars to 2.Purchased in .

Fantastic quality, Ease of operation.
My wife and I just bought 2 Leitner Electric Folding bikes. 1 Labelle and 1 Tyrol. We upgraded to the 14.4 V battery ( just in case )..... These bikes are fantastic, they have to be the best value E Bikes in Australia. Very well made and so far they seem to be very robust. Looking forward to many hours of E Biking...... Max and Fiona.

Super eBike!
Love this great little eBike. Easy to ride. I still want to burn calories when I ride so I use the throttle only going up hills. Good advice from Leitner however I wasn't sure which bike I would like so I posted on FB as a member of our community residents group and I asked if anyone had a Leitner bike. A member offered to show us their bikes and give us a bit of info on assembly and use. Great quality product and it doesn't break the bank.
Very easy to assemble and like everything a bit of practice is key. I'm 69 and riding everywhere. My husband is 74 and has the SuperT and loves it. Go buy one!

best thing I've bought
Arrived within 2 days (SA). Easy to assemble (full instructions provided) even comes with toolkit. I'm not a walker so this allows me to exercise without any hassles. My wife is also getting used to ebiking around, so muchso that I'm about to buy her own Leitner Libelle folding e-bike. ow to work out how to fit them in the car/caravan.
Purchased in for $1,455.
So far so good
Our bikes arrived in Perth WA after just 12 days. Very easy to put together only took me about 45 mins for both bikes. Tested them in the rear of our Honda CRV had to fold down one seat as my bike the Tirol is slightly longer in the frame than my wifes Libelle. Very happy with them so far just getting our riding legs on our new Leitner ebikes.
PS: several friends I am sure will be ordering, they are well built bikes and neat finish.

Very Reliable
I have had my Libelle almost 2 years & apart from a small steering problem, which was fixed very quickly under warranty, the bike has been very reliable. I use the bike every day, sometimes in very hilly terrain, that it handles very well. Recently I had the front disk brake pads replaced. The pads were in stock at my local bike shop. I originally bought the folding bike because I thought I might need it to get it into my unit's angled entrance way, but I sometimes use it, when I have the bike 'tied up', to stop people sitting on it or taking t

I bought it on line from Leitner, who have answered my emails very quickly & I have been pleased with their help & advice. My sister has an identical Libelle & she recommended the brand to me. 1st ebike and love it
Sorry about my long review..but I just can't say enough about this bike. A little nervous at first to order online, a friend of mine had the SuperT style and after test riding it I was so impressed with the ride and quality, I ordered my Libelle online that afternoon. I'm 63 years old 72kg with difficulty raising my leg up over a higher bar bike but the libelle was no challenge with its step through design. We live in a very hilly area and the bike just zooms up them easily so I opted for the larger 16amp battery for that reason. The throttle o

I had one tiny issue with the bike bell and after phoning them a replacement is being sent.. cheerfully and helpful and couldn't do enough to resolve it...that's also another reason I chose Lietner...for their after sales service by aussies in Australia...no stress trying to deal with overseas retailers. Questions & Answers
Hi I have just brought a like new 20inch folding Leitner bike with the 16amp battery it's 2.5years old , on flat ground it seems ok but the second I hit the slightest incline the motor cuts out and comes on for like a second here and there and it's crap I have to pedal like mad but sometimes when it works it just cruises up it with ease . It seems like it's just cutting in and out on inclines and makes it hard to ride , is this a common problem?? Help
Hi Jordan, My wife and I have 2 20" folding bikes but there only 1 month old so we have had no problems with them. 16amp battery is a wopper !!!!. You should get well over 80K distance with a battery that size. Sorry I cannot help with the cutting in and out of power, are you using the " Throttle" or the pedal assist settings ??. 1to 5. ??. Max.
We have had no problems with our Leitners....sounds like it needs a service and possibly a new battery

I love my new Libelle bike ..it’s totally amazing.. I am just wondering as I ride the speedometer calculates the kms done.. When I ride again it stays at what I was last on and continues to add. Is there a way to start at 0 again or is like a car speedometer?
Hi Gail, You can't reset the odometer, but you can change to the 'trip meter' mode. For instructions check your manual, or email us at sales@leitner.com.au and we will be happy to assist. Thanks!
I have just bought a second hand Leitner Libelle fold up bike, which is the exact bike I have been looking for.
I know this is a silly question, but am wondering what the instructions are to to start the peddle assist and throttle. I have used it once with the peddle assist but don’t actually know how I did it. I can’t find it in the manual.
Turn on power (battery) push in red button. Next to it is throttle, turn slowly. Bike should move. Will only travell at 6km or walking pace.
Thank you :)
Hi Paula SO SORRY for this late reply, this email address is a secondary one and I don't check it regularly. I tried to send you the manual we got with our bikes but I can't send attachments on this review. If you wish to have a copy please send your email address and I will fwd a copy on.
