Everything about this bike screams quality – From the moment you open the box you can tell this is no cheaply produced product. Everything on this bike is quality, right down to the side stand. We have done many enjoyable rides on our bikes and have just bought a rack for our caravan to make transportation easier again. For the price I haven't found any other bikes with the features of the Leitner Super T. Love the independent suspension. . . . Show details
After 6 years of regular use - Excellent – I bought my first Super-T over 6 years ago, search in here and you'll find earlier reviews, if they go back that far when I first purchased that Super T, because at that time there were not many e-bikes in the lower price range. Now that bike has been handed to a retired lady in Melbourne to continue its life as the battery after many, many… Read more
charges has barely deteriorated. I upgraded to my new Super-T as it came with a speedometer and a shorter, long range battery which does not impede the very useful carrier.
This bike is rugged! I regularly use the bike for a 55Km courier run, on dirt and bitumen roads around Ballan, Vic. for the exercise on the one charge of course and...
Last year I took the train from Ballan to Bairnsdale and rode from Bairnsdale to Orbost and return along the East Gippsland Rail Trail including overnight stays, of which 140km is dirt. Rode cross country from Beaufort station to Skipton, thence to Wendouree station, 60 km almost all dirt and for Christmas, train to Warrnambool, we rode from Warrnambool to Port Fairy overnight, around 80 Km of dirt along the rail trail. As my partners bike didn't have a rack, I carried two panniers, purchased separately on E-Bay with all our luggage!
COVID notwithstanding, I'm off to Cairns in July, by train as aeroplanes won't accept e-bikes and I'm going to do some riding around the Gulf Savannah by the Savannahlander train. I'm an ambassador for Leitner, but I did not get paid, receive encouragement or any reward for writing this review. This bike sells itself, its never had a flat tyre (touch wood). All my work for Leitner is voluntary, but I felt after all these years I needed to advise my Super-T experience to the many people reading Leitner reviews and considering a purchase.
Trains, Leitner Super T's and rail trails, what a great combination to get out and see Victoria and Australia.
Below, some images around east Gippsland. (Due to the dangerous for bikes Alpine Way, I took the bus from Bruthen to Swifts Creek and rode to Omeo via Cassilis)

I'm impressed with my Leitner – I should really give my SuperT 4.5 stars because it's a great bike over all. So easy and fun to ride. I bought this bike to be my only transport while I cruise on my yacht and needed a folding bike that I can store below, out of the weather and salt spray. I spen quitet some time researching folding e-bike options and ended up with my heart set… Read more
on a Lietner. I discovered however that fully folded (with the handlebars down) it would be too wide to fit through my companion-way and doors. Aiming to resolve this problem I sent a number of emails to Lietner asking for the dimensions and an extra picture of the bike with it's handle bars up and turned at 90 degrees. The staff worked with me and always got back to me in a timely way helping me to solve this issue. The folded bike will also in my small dingy so I can take it ashore and I can charge the battery from my solar power Since purchasing my SuperT I have added a fair size basket and saddle bags to the pack rack and should be able to use it effectivly for shopping in most ports I visit I have yet to try it on a big hill but so far so good On the down side it does need one more higher gear and a way to stop it flopping open when lifting it folded
Didn't last 3 years – This bike deserves ZERO stars. Firstly how did this lump of crap win an award? I have been cycling for around 30 years and I have NEVER had such an inadequate inferior troublesome bike. I have had $50 gumtree bikes that outperform this piece of junk. I have years of experience building and maintaining bikes. And if you follow the leitner… Read more
recommended maintenance schedule your bike is done for. I have gone above and beyond to keep this piece of crap running but ultimately the bike went in the skip at the end of October. 2 years and 7 months after purchase.
My daily commute is 4.8k to work. 1 decent hill, so mostly low and medium assist, until the hill climb up to work.
When I got the bike 45-50k on the battery no problem. This lasted for around 18 months then the battery just went off a cliff. The range dropped to 5k, so I could (just) get to work, then dropped to 3k range making this bike absolutely useless. His crappy bike only has 500 cycles on its battery, much inferior to the majority of other ebikes that are 800-1000+ recharge cycles. Also at $400 and up for a replacement battery they are a rip off. Similar batteries for competitor bikes are less than half that price.
And it’s not just the battery that’s the problem. There is a catalogue of mechanical issues as well.
The teeth holding the seat have all worn smooth. This makes cycling particular exciting, hit a bump and the seat tips throwing you off.
All the brake and gear cables have stretched so much they can’t be tightened any more following leitners recommended methods. Some technical skill is required to tighten the cables at the callipers. The brakes have also failed TWICE, which also makes riding exciting, heading towards a busy intersection and no brakes. It really gets the heart racing.
1 pedal broke. No idea how that happened, cycling along and bang no pedal.
1, possibly both bearings, in the rear wheel are failing.
According to my local bike shop it’s going to be up to $500 to have it fixed to a rideable standard. Add on 400 for a new battery and it’s looking at nearly $1000 to get this rubbish working again. I might as well buy a new bike.
And I will. And you can be GUARANTEED it won’t be another leitner folding paper weight, and it’d highly likely it won’t be a leitner.
There is a lot of criticism around Australian manufacturing, how it’s more expensive and inferior to foreign imports. Well this piece of crap supports that argument. AVOID this bike!
Wayne - Oregon, USA – I spent month's reviewing 20 inch folding ebikes for trail riding in Oregon's desert's. I wanted full suspension, 2 inch tires rather than power-robbing "fatties", strong power for climbing (reasonably) sized hills with fenders/rack/lights and a realistic warrantee (Leitner's is 1 year) And, I wanted an affordable price. Leitner's Super "T"… Read more
does this!
Power was my most important ingredient for an ebike for trail riding. From studying them I learned that "watts" doesn't equal power - amps do (check the ebike power calculations online). Watts equals "distance". So if your riding further than 25 miles get a 750+ watt battery. Leithner's 350 watts (650 max) rode me up a 5% hill on a paved golf-cart trail in second gear with the throttle maxed. I wasn't peddling hard, and seated! I weigh 209LBS.
The #1 US advertised 20 inch foldable ebike with 500 watts (max- they don't tell you that) is $1600.00. Other compatible ebikes here are $1700 - $2500. I wanted fenders/lights/rack too? Nope, not standard equipment not even a kick-stand with others! Cup holder, NO! The Leitner comes with those except a cup holder that I added.
Leitner service, there's that too. I broke a leaver since this "Neanderthal" didn't read the directions before I assembled it. I contacted Leitner and paid for the part, (my bad - not theirs). The headlight operations instructions were printed incorrectly. Before the bike arrived in two day's (!) I had a corrected copy of the light operations with a follow up email to confirm that the lights worked.
Point is that I didn't have any hassles or need to return the bike to - China! If you buy a Chinese ebike save the box! At Leitner, by the way, they speak fluent English - with a "Aussie" twang! Good on ya!
Finally, for service, useable power at an unbeatable price I'm completely happy with my Leitner Super "T".

My rugged Super-T exceeded all expectations – Recently returned from Qld with my Super-T folded up in the back of my MINI. I had always wanted to ride the Kilkivan to Kingaroy Rail Trail. See link: https://www.railtrails.org.au/trails/kilkivan-kingaroy-rail-trail/ The ride started after arriving at Gympie by train thence riding the very scenic, generally low traffic route from Gympie to… Read more
Kilkivan via Widgee. Don't be fooled by the image of a sealed path in Queensland sunshine. The start of the path at Kilkivan is terrible and an indictment on Gympie Regional Council which is not maintaining the path in their jurisdiction at all. Very rough riding for 30+ Km over 3 hours between Kilkivan and Goomeri including wading through a creek! I couldn't go faster than 12 Km/h due to the extremely rough track which still had the rail ballast in place. After Goomeri the track improved slightly then after Murgon, the track was the same as shown in the attachment for all the remaining 60km to Kingaroy. With overnight stays at Kilkivan, Wondai and Kingaroy it was a very pleasant mid-winter ride. The bike performed faultlessly. Despite the rough riding track there were no issues with the sturdiness of the bike which exceeded all my expectations. I'm a voluntary ambassador for Leitner, which means that I offer a test ride of these bikes...in my case, my Super-T. You'll find my contact details on their web site.
Exceeded my expectation – We're a retired couple doing the lap in a motorhome. We have one each, and they are meeting our needs perfectly. We store them folded in the luton, having devised a strap to secure each one. I had the unfortunate instance of a component failure, but I am suitably impressed by the response in a prompt despatch of the part to meet me in my travels.… Read more
Diagnosis was accurate and the part easily installed by myself. I'm back on my wheels again....I couldn't be happier. Thx
Absolutely love our Leitner Super T eBikes! – We have only had our Super T eBikes for 3 months and are very impressed with the performance and build of these bikes. We purchased 2 of these through Fully Charged (Snowbiz) in Brisbane and they had been assembled for us prior to pick up. Our handover was informative and very helpful as we had never owned or ridden eBikes prior to this purchase.… Read more
Love the folding capability and both fit well in the back of our Jeep. They are comfortable, particularly with the dual suspension and easy to ride. We only have the standard battery size of 9.6aH (I think) and have found this to be more than sufficient even for my husband who always uses the Assist mode on at least 2 or 3 out of a possible 5 levels. We have never run out of steam and only charge them because we think we should! We had a problem with the Speedo on one of the bikes and rang tech support who were easy to contact and extremely helpful. Using emailed instructions and the supplied toolkit we were able to solve the issue immediately. Many people have approached us about our bikes in our travels and we have always recommended them wholeheartedly and that is why we wanted to review these great bikes!
This was a great purchase – This is the second leitner bike I have bought. After being so happy with the first one for my partner. These bikes come with hardly any assembly or adjustments to be done. Would certainly recommend these bikes and the company Leitner Show details
Unbelievable encouragement to get fit in a fun way – Very stable bike, easy to assemble and ride can help you up hills if you are tired, Fantastic and supportive customer service Show details
BRILLIANT little bike – I did a stack of research and decided on the Leitner Super-T and nothing but praise for this little bike. It is well manufactured and strong with a good quality finish. Gears change well as does the battery backup. The convenience of folding the standout. Not a complaint, but what I would like to see is a screen based speedo and trip meter along… Read more
with the ability to switch off the battery from the handle bars instead of reaching down to the key. As I said, not a complaint but my opinion on improving this wonderful little bike. Oh, nearly forgot, the dual suspension really does make a difference to the ride quality. Thankyou Leitner.
Great Customer Support – I was very luck to purchased a 4 month old second hand Super T privately and found the headlight was not working but the taillight was. I checked the wiring and all SEEMED to be correct. I contacted Ed in Customer Support and sent him some photo he requested. Ed’s reply was within 5 minutes of me sending my email which I really appreciated. … Read more

Fantastic product and fantastic customer service – I was looking for a foldable ebike as I could no longer ride my bike due to health issues. Foldable to allow me to drive to enjoy riding in various locations. I researched many ebikes but kept coming back to the Leitner website. Positive reviews, a great price and a very attractive looking bike (yes that was important to me too), I purchased a… Read more

The bike was not quite me, but the service I had from the Leitner company to help me return the bike were excellent – Bike is excellent quality. The bike was a bit large for me as I am very much a beginner so it had to be returned. I had first class quick service from the company about returning the bike. I can highly recommend there efficient service and the high quality of the manufacturer. The rd was a beautiful red Show details
Great fun, gets us out and about again – Bought 2 bikes for my husband and I, both unfit and over 50, we are riding everywhere, so much fun, we are riding every day... I look for an excuse to duck to the shops for milk bread anything, whack it in my basket. love them, would recommend anytime. had a problem with my bell and they replaced straight away. haven't needed to fold yet, but love the function that we can if we need to. bike is very sturdy, just go for it. Love my Super T except – I have had my Leitner bike for over 4 months now. It does everything I hoped it would do. I get a lot of comments and enquiries. I coach runners and to be able to ride along with them is great. My only criticism is the break wear. I have had to replace the brake pads once already and am due for another replacement very soon. I use it every day over all terrain so have to use them ofen - could this be a factor? Show details
Great machine – We’ve had the bike 2 weeks we love it. Easy to assemble, easy to use. On or of the road it does everything it’s supposed to we think it’s just great. Show details
Leiter Super T bikes are very robust – A friend asked me to put together 2 E bikes that he'd just had delivered from Leitner, I was amazed at the ease with which they can be assembled, it was very noticeable that the design and engineering was of a high standard, both he and his wife are very pleased with the e Bikes. areas. I was involved with their purchase from the beginning, and the supplier's service was second to none.
Excellent traveling bike – This bike has excellent folding and is easy to move just rolling on the back wheel when folded. Very compact too. The battery lasts well; over 40 km for me and the riding position is excellent. Love the range of seat and handle bar adjustment when family ride with me on my 26 inch Leitner. Also fits nicely on my yacht when folded. Light fitting a bit delicate but still Highly recommended. Show details
Very poor quality – My wife bought a pair of these in late 2019 for us to enjoy caravanning. Sadly this didn't happen, however i did try and use mine during the pandemic. This is my first ebike and it is a huge disappointment. I was cycling around 50k a week, but this in no longer possible. Last week the battery deteriorated so now I can only get 5k between… Read more
charges, which now take all night.
Also the build quality is extremely poor. 4 spokes have broken, for no reason, both brake cables have snapped, and several times the front disk brake just locks up and won't come on.
My old bike is over 20 years old and i have never had these problems.
I no longer feel safe riding this bike. Sadly this has ruined was hoping to be fun activity for myself and my wife.
i did email customer service but all i got back appeared to be a form email effectively excluding them from any responsibility.
Overall this bike has been extremely disappointing.

Pretty Good and then – The bike frame is heavy and therefore strong and sturdy. It runs well enough, although the gearing is a little light so it is very easy to pedal to the point where your pedalling is doing nothing at all. Good if you want to exert very little energy, but a little frustrating if you want to be able to have 'pedal assisted' power. The bits and… Read more
pieces (mudflaps, brakes, gears) are all a bit noisy clicking and crunching, but OK. The worst part is the replacement battery - my battery died after a couple of years and will cost me nearly $AUD700 to replace. Whoa! That's half of what the bike cost me brand new. That is like buying a car and replacing the engine every couple of years.

Brilliant bike – This bike deals with all terrain from very rough bike tracks to off road. Suits us perfectly – My husband and I purchased 2 Super T's so we can fold up and take away with us on holidays in our caravan. We are very impressed with the quality of the bikes. They were easy to assemble and look very "smik". We have not ridden bikes for years so once we got our "bike legs" back the pedal assist was magic. We would definitely recommend these bikes to anyone wanting to purchase folding bikes. Show details
Excellent bike at a great value price! – Pedal assist is silky smooth. The dual suspension makes riding very comfortable. The build quality in general is really high. My flatmates responses were who needs a car! I went with the 10 amp hour battery and it was still about 80% after 6km ride with full pedal assist. Show details

A second update on my SuperT – Leitner would never have offered me any sort of guarantee if they'd known how I was going to treat my eBike and I have to say it is still performing brilliantly. Certainly I'm not suggesting anyone take their Leitner way past any intended specifications on reasonable use or wear and tear, as I continue to do, but I can promise that if I break this one I'll be buying another the same day.
It's a beaut piece of machinery with excellent back-up service and I continue to recommend it.

Had a problem and Leitner came through – I bought 2 of these bikes for my wife and myself. The black one was great but had a few problems with the red one. in working condition. I received a replacement part within 4 days of my call to Leitner. The information and communication from Leitner is excellent. I will be buying a Liselle this spring for my wife. We will be taking it on a cross country trip in our motor home . We are 68 years young! I do not think i have ever written a product review before but felt compelled to do so based on my satisfaction with the product.
The most fun I've had in years – I've done several good rides on the bike now and it's been fantastic. I used to be a "get to the end of the street and give up" cyclist but now I have the confidence to go wherever I want, knowing I'll be able to get back without too much effort. shop for a once-over (since I don't know anything about bikes). It fits into the boot of my Kia Rio neatly. The 10A battery has been good; when it runs out it doesn't just stop cold. I got 38km the other day - I weigh about 85kg and climbed nearly 150m, and the ride time was 2.5 hours. However, I decided I wanted the 16A battery, and larger wheels for when I'm riding places from home, and so I have just bought a brand new Venice as well. It arrived in 2 days - their courier company is great.
Things I love on the Super T: - enormous seat - dual suspension: bumps aren't uncomfortable! - disc brakes: never had these before and boy do they work well. - adjustability - I'm far more confident in traffic now that I can use a throttle to get myself going rather than having to worry about having my feet in the right place at the right time to shoot off at the lights. Pedal assist kicks in quickly so it's really just that start. - easy controls
Don't love: - the tyres, as their max pressure is pretty low and it didn't take too many bumps to damage. But that was an easy changeover.
