relatively easy and the instructions are clear. The disk brakes came correctly adjusted, as did the gear change, even the tyres were at the correct pressure. Took me a little over 30 minutes, but much of this time was reading the instructions. All the tools are provided. I got a little frustrated at first, as the power assist works different to my other eBike. The levels are the power output from the battery but assist cuts out at particular speeds rather then providing the same level of assist up to the maximum speed. Tested each of the levels and they would drive the bike to the following speeds (1=10.5km, 2=13.5, 3=16.7, 4=19.8, 5=24.7) All were double checked on a flat car park in each direction. During this testing I found the really annoying thing - the speedo only goes up to 24.7km/h. Exchanged emails with support, and this is correct, the speedo will only show upto the maximum of 24.7km/h which is the top level of assistance permitted by law. You can peddle faster than this but it still only shows 24.7 (my other bike shows the actual speed). This means that the option for Average & Max speed, don't mean anything if you peddle faster than 24.7 at any time. GPS testing of speed and distance measuring shows that what is displayed is about 9.8% higher than actual. As in, when speed is showing 10km/h you are only going 9km/h. As expected the distance is out by about the same amount. This is slightly better than my other eBike that has an error of a little over 10%. Talking to other people this is about normal for non-GPS speedos. The battery monitor takes a bit of getting used to, and each person should test their bike to understand how far it will take them rather than relying on the 5 bar battery levels. I found that the battery will show as Full for upto a third of the distance it will take you, and then the next 3 bars will drop though in about another third of distance. The last bar holding out for the last third. Battery life was better than expected (I peddle quite fast, so often peddle above the assistance level). With level 1-3 being annoying slow, I have just tested Lv4 and 5. Level 5 took me 37.1km (average of a number of trips) and Level 4 took me a whopping 70.7km (Avg). My testing loop was a pretty flat circuit with no hills just a few underlations, half tarmac and half gravel. I probably peddled more above the assist on level 4 and hence the much increased distance. Loved the twist throttle, this is a great way to give that little extra push when pulling away. It only takes you up to just over 5km/h (4.5 real), but as under normal peddling, the 2-3 second lag from starting to peddle and the assistance kicking in, this allows the assistance to start quicker. Great for starting off from lights or crossings. I have had the bike for 8 months now, and it is growing on me. I only ever use Levels 4&5. The ride is smooth and simple adjustments have allowed me to have the handle bars higher for a more sit-up position, rather than the head down racer. I did have the main computer die after about 4 months, but the support I got was top tier. Responce to my email was the same day, after a few questions and photos they sent out the new controller computer by express post, probably less than a week from having the fault to getting the new part. Other than this, I have had no issues at all. I did ask about the possibility of changing the bike computer, to a better quality one (would have liked to have USB power outlet) but changing the computer is not an option. Thus I have now added my own GPS Bike computer for time, speed and distance (cheap on ebay). The bike is certainly targetted for the non-serious day tripper, and it fits that quite well without having to spend a fortune on all the bells and whistles. I would recommend. PS: Go online for how to make adjustments to the King meter KM529 settings that certainly made it a better fit for me.

Regular cleaning and self-servicing of the bicycle have been part of my routine maintenance practices. Given my larger physique, traversing the steep climbs in my vicinity requires some effort on my part. Nonetheless, riding the Berlin Cruiser elsewhere has been effortless and enjoyable.

The frame, wheels, and components comprising the bicycle exemplify high-quality craftsmanship designed for longevity. I have encountered cheaper imported models that surprised me with the noticeable compromises made during their manufacturing processes.

The battery, a crucial component, has consistently delivered exceptional performance. On my longest excursion, spanning just over 60 kilometers, the battery discharged completely upon reaching my driveway upon return. However, even after covering substantial distances, I have not observed any decline in battery performance since purchase, I predominantly utilize the lowest two assist settings, except when climbing.

By not solely relying on the E-Bike's assistance and actively engaging in pedaling, one can attain improved fitness levels. Additionally, I have personally experienced considerable weight loss solely through cycling on the Berlin Cruiser, without making any other lifestyle changes.

I wholeheartedly endorse the Leitner Berlin Cruiser and am delighted with my decision to forgo a cheaper import. If you are currently considering an E-Bike purchase, I highly recommend exploring the Leitner Berlin Cruiser, as it offers remarkable value for your investment.

any better? The tyres are reinforced to reduce punctures. As I have osteo knees the motor assist is essential to power up hills. The power and speed display shows all you need to know. I did buy a handlebar mirror for safety reasons. The battery can be charged on bike or removed for separate charging. I purchased the blue frame model and the finish is great. The seat is comfortable. A luggage rack is included as well as lights. The front suspension is great and adjustable. I researched ebikes for weeks and the numerous positive reviews on these bikes was a great factor in my purchase. In summary the bike exceeded my expectations by a lot. I just love it riding to the beach.

Awesome Comfortable Bike – I have done about 1500km on my Leitner Berlin and it is a great bike. The seat and riding position are perfect for commuting. The rack, lights, mud guards and thick tube inclusions are so useful and something you then don't have to worry about. through the motor was replaced after three years. Noisy from the start I suspect it was potentially faulty on delivery. The planetary gears failed first then the motor ceased a year later getting noisier as time passed. Since then the bike has performed flawlessly. Both are ridden every day for up to two hours on very hilly terrain.

These bikes are excellent value for money as the above review suggests.

very roughly, taking it into national parks and riding on dirt tracks, and it's handled it flawlessly. After nearly five years of abuse, the only issues I've had are the headlight wires ripped out when the handlebar was turned too far (by me) to fit into the truck tray, and some noise from the motor, which started after I was riding through mud, so this is entirely on me. Also recommended one to my dad, who has also enjoyed his for years also. I'm saving up to buy the off road Leitner Electric Fat Bike next so I can stop mistreating my Berlin Cruiser.

Quality build and great after sales service – Recently took delivery of a Berlin model for myself and a Libelle E Bike for my wife. Relatively easy to complete assembly and make roadworthy. Both bikes are solidly manufactured and we look forward to years of riding enjoyment. Has been a Wonderful Bike – Bought mine three years ago. Easy to assemble, (other than a bit of trouble getting the brakes aligned properly) and like that it came with fenders, a headlight, and a rear rack. (minor) concern is that I am 6ft 3 and the frame size (distance between saddle and handlebars) is very slightly shorter than I would have ideally liked. However I've decided to accept this as a compromise because the bike is so good. I also think I can adjust the handlebars so that they clear my knees when turning. I do think that the one weakness of the whole buying system is the inability to see and try before buying. Our nearest volunteer person who could show us the bike was well over 40 minutes drive away. We tried contacting him and he didn't reply - not great. So it was a leap of faith to buy blind - but it was the reviews on sites like this that persuaded us . We are glad we took the gamble - but this explains why we only bought one to start with. I suspect that this is why the company has to be really on top of its game with high quality products and customer service - because trust is critical when no physical shop exists.

bonus. With weather coming I had everything finished and batteries charged by four o'clock, it was recommended in the manual to get used to the bike, so I rode it first with no battery to get the hang of it. It rode really well, albeit a little heavier than normal but it just felt like a push bike to ride. I then put the battery in, I used the throttle to start moving the bike and then started peddling up our driveway and could not believe how easy it was with pedal assist. Although i live on acres with plenty of room to ride, it was straight out on the road and I'm off. (This bit, is a bit personal.) I am 62 this year in Dec, and my wife and I have been active hikers, rock climbers, cavers, hang glider pilots, and basically led very active lives. As I got older, I started having problems with pain in my legs which ended up being narrowing arteries in my legs. Which in turn caused me intense pain when i try to walk distance, 100m is it for me and I have to stop walking and wait a min or two before i can walk another 100m or so. It has been secretly distressing for me knowing my wife is healthy and could walk twenty km without breaking a sweat and I can't join her. It has been heart breaking living next to Wison's Prom with so many beautiful walks and trails at hand, but not being able to walk any with my beautiful wife. She never complains that I can't walk with her and the dog, but it breaks my heart that I can't. It will sound corny, but I shed a few tears on the ride back home knowing that distance was now a thing of the past. Leitner, you have changed my life, you have given me back the freedom of twenty years ago. No longer will my wife walk without me, as we both now have Leitner bikes and many new adventures lie in wait for us. Thank you!

Best bang for your buck E-Bike with STELLAR customer support!!! – I live in the US, and was one of the few who bought a leitner from US shop. AU shop sent me replacement parts years after US shop sadly went under.
