I am really happy that I decided to go with this dryer, it does everything it says it does and is easy to use and very quiet when in operation. Its been great with our towels, they dry a lot quicker than I thought they would. The lint filter is located at the front of the machine and is easily cleaned. I can highly recommend this dryer. We have a lot of sheets and towels and the 7kg handles it just fine. Show details
Just bought this recently, dries well however it is a bit noisy and the bad thing is it spreads lint all over the floor in the lau dry even though I clean the lint collector after every use. I will be contacting the supplier about this. I had a hoover for years and years and had no problem whatsoever. Show details
3 year old used once a week and the heating element dies on my Fisher and Paykel 7 Kg dryer model DE7060G2. Contacted Fisher and Paykel for a price on a new element, $200+ Australian. (Cheaper On E-Bay). New unit at The Good Guys Port Macquarie NSW, $589. Go Figure that one out. Show details
Two is about as accurate as can be – We've had the bed sheets rolling around for about 4 hours, it's raised the temperature of the whole apartment by 5 degrees ANDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD *Sheets come out at the doona is melted and heaps of stuff wet, this thing is useless some things are boiling hot and a heap of stuff isn't dry at all Expensive and… Read more
inefficient, struggles with bed sheets despite most people probably needing a dryer for bed sheets
Garment refresh does not iron your t shirt, or remove crease or actually do anything at all. ALL THE PROGRAMS ARE THE FREAKN SAME bar air dry, nothing new is happening old mate F & P insulting our intelligence by pretending the programs have any meaningful contribution
can dry t shirts and shorts probably in about 6 hours...absolutly wild how this has good reviews on all the sites you buy it.
Leaving it at three because it actually driers, that's all it does though
LEAVES PERMANENET BLACK MARKS ON CLOTHES – We purchased a Fisher & Paykel clothes dryer model DE7060G2 from Harvey Norman in 2023 (maybe 2022 ?). Within months the first version left black skid marks all over items that went into it. We were told it was because of teflon bearings wearing out and creating black residue. After more than a year of constant emails, we are on our third… Read more
version of the dryer, each version of which supposedly had the bearing issue fixed. This, along with a cash settlement from Fisher and Paykel for the $1000's of damaged goods. THE BEARING ISSUE IS NOT RESOLVED The 3rd version of the dryer we have is still leaving black marks over items, which do not come out whatever we have tried. Don't risk it.

Leaves grease marks on clothing and linen – Don't buy this model....please be warned. Worse dryer ever! Agree with other reviews that this model rolls sheets and other large items into a ball and doesn't dry them. But the worst part to this machine is that it leaves grease marks on clothing, linen and bath towels. This has not just happened once with one machine, but we have had our… Read more
dryer replaced twice, so we are on machine no#3 (first purchased in Jun 2023, replaced in Dec 2023 and then replaced again in Feb 2024)...and would you believe it, it's happening again! About to put in another direct complaint with Fisher & Paykel. I have to admit, as long as you are persistent and don't give in F&P customer service has been really good so far. Even reimbursing for damaged linen, clothing and towels. I know others with the same dryer (model up) and they have had no issues at all. They need to pull this model off the market completely. How is it possible for us to have received 3 defective dryers so far.
Leaves oil stains, terrible customer service – Left oil stains on clothes and sheets. I contacted Jbhifi waited 1.5 hours on hold, was told to send an email they took a week to respond then they sent it on to fisher and paykel who took another week, referred it to a technician who said it’s a common problem and that it needs to be replaced, waited 2 more weeks and still don’t have my replacement unit. Customer service absolutely terrible. Show details
Worst Dryer I've ever owned – Only had dryer 5 months and leaves black marks all over sheets and quilt covers. Rolls sheets into a ball and you have to physically stop dryer to unravel multiple times otherwise wont dry fully. I've owned many dryers in my life, this being my first ever fisher & paykel product and NEVER again will I purchase this brand. Customer service is not… Read more
user friendly. Online chat got to a certain point, then they asked me to enter credit card details to continue chat for $1. That was a no from me!! Called the 1300 number got voice recording, said I had an issue with my dryer, so the recording tells me I need a technician and texted a link to book one and call was ended. Not a happy customer and do not recommend this product!
Rolls sheets into balls - Look elsewhere – We regret buying this dryer, its bundles the sheets into a ball and then bangs around until you pull them out, stuff them back in and repeat up until 5-10 times per load. Drives you absolutely mad. Looking online it seems like a common problem with F&P dryers. Unacceptable design flaw for a 2023 dryer. Show details
Terrible dryer for a family – Dryer goes one way for far too long. Will not dry sheets as it just rolls them in a ball. So bad I actually called a technician as I couldn’t believe a dryer in the year 2023 could be so bad.completely useless for our family. Show details
Good dryer, does the job it is supposed to do – This is a good all round dryer with sensor to monitor when the clothes are dry. The only downside is that large sheets can roll into a ball and just keep tmbling, but keeping an eye on that is the only issue, otherwise it does its' job well, to dry clothes. Show details
Wet weather friend – Necessity for work clothes, with the recent wet weather. Dries fairly quickly. Great for all the small items.
Dryer malfunctions after 12 months - poor FP service – the display and function board on this dryer has electrical fault after 12 mths operation. We have had to replace it 3 times in 3 years under warranty. Problem with this is it is hard to book a FP service person to come out and then, after days when they arrive, they have to order the part and then you have to wait another week or more. This is… Read more
despite us having all the evidence of the problem from previous part failures. I would not buy this product again as the display board is all fancy touch buttons which are prone to fail under too much moisture (big problem for a dryer!). Make sure you only buy dial or physical button based dryers!!
Update - problem with this dryer (and new one we purchased (Electrolux) is when you install it on a wall ie upside down, moisture from the cloth drying can seep down into the control panel causing the malfunction - be careful in this mode.

Love this dryer - bought one for my son as well – I love the auto sensor function and the big capacity. I've had it for about 6 months and it's going well. Sheets do end up in a ball - I put them in with a towel and a couple of tennis balls which helps. It is very noisy however. Show details
A Good Appliance for Us – We needed to replace our worn out vented clothes dryer with another vented clothes dryer. We have it installed on the wall in our laundry and adjacent to the back door of the house. For us the positioning is important to allow free movement of moist discharged air with fresh air to avoid any chance of mould. We only use the machine to dry clothes… Read more
that have already been spun dried in the washing machine, or have been brought in from outside because of approaching rain but are already partially dry. We have dried a wide variety of items from delicates to bed sheets to light blankets and it has done the job very well. The filter is very effective and is easy to remove and clean. The Instructions advise cleaning the filter after every use. We do so and it is not an imposition. I installed the machine myself, as I have done on 2 predecessor machines, but I did have trouble wall hanging it. The two brackets that come with the machine are spaced at 550mms apart, whereas timber framed houses in Australia have wall studs spaced at 600mm. Therefore in a timber framed house it is necessary to fix a batten to the wall from which to hang the dryer. I did this as I have done previously, but then I ran into trouble when I found that the bottom two plastic spacers that were supplied were too short. The effect was that the appliance was hanging at an outward angle. I went back to the retailer and they provided me with longer spacers and that solved the problem so that it now hangs vertically. Remember that the wall batten will make the unit stand further out from the wall than if it is affixed onto say a masonry wall. I used some additional improvised spacers with the supplied ones to get the vertical angle at a perfect 90 degrees. The appliance has been working perfectly and we are very happy with it. Recommended.
Looks like it is running a marathon – I live in a 2nd floor flat so have had to buy a vented dryer. Bought this on a recommendation from a sales person at Harvey's (that was my first mistake) about 2 months ago. It is not like a regular dryer. I can't vent it using the vent kit as I can't vent it into the plaster or ceiling (again live in a flat with a few floors above) so it blows… Read more
fluff and hair everywhere in the laundry even when the lint filet has been cleaned. It sweats like a pig on any cycle to the extent it looks like it has run the marathon at the Olympic games hence sweating up my laundry too. I have the exhaust fan running but that doesn't help. Will never buy F&P again and I advise you stay away from this model.
Quality has dropped – I purchased this dryer in August 2020 as I wanted to wall mount my dryer (back issues were making the condenser dryer on the floor difficult to use) Overall in the early days, I found it quite good - its quick (much quicker than a condenser dryer) relatively easy to use and it looked good hung on the wall. After about six months use (used about… Read more
2-3 times a week in winter for a household of 2 adults) I noticed that it started to get much louder when being used. By that time, summer had rolled around so the dryer is getting much less use in those months - usually just to tumble line dried clothing very quickly to remove lint etc. Since then its remained kind of loud when operating, the drum makes a scraping sound when turning but it isn't so bad that it can't be used. It also vibrates quite a lot. When wall mounted at our old house, it was mounted on a wall that held the kitchen wall mounted cabinets on the other side - the vibration used to shake the contents of those cabinets, so be careful if wall-mounting in a laundry that backs onto your kitchen - jingling glasses are really annoying. We've since moved house and the dryer is not wall mounted (just used in the garage now due to space and its noisiness) and I still find it shakes a bit when used. I'm reluctant to call F&P service as my experience with trying to book service calls on my dish drawers makes that prospect off-putting. The dryer is very quick though - a 6kg load spun at the highest speed in my washer will dry in 45-60mins. The dryer runs HOT (compared to my Electrolux condenser dryer) so be sure to use Medium or Low heat settings to avoid shrinkage and damage to sensitive clothing. Be warned though, although it has a lint filter it will blow a significant amount of lint out of the vent at the front. Now, the door latch is getting a bit difficult to use (you really have to pull on the door to open it) Overall I think the quality of F&P products has slipped in recent years - they are just not the same as they used to be.
Excellent Dryer! – Can't rate this dryer highly enough! It automatically detects how long a load should go for until it's dry, loads come out completely dry 99% of the time. I very rarely have to use any of the other options for my day-to-day needs. Noise level is more than acceptable. Only con is that it does create a lot of humidity if using in a closed space like an internal laundry. Show details
Good dryer, good value for money – We needed a new dryer and couldn’t go past this offer at our local good guys. We wanted something bigger and the 8.5kg version was perfect for us. We can fit a king size duvet insert inside with some room to spare for pillow covers. It handles really well with everyday clothes, sometimes jeans / thick jumpers / towels can still come out a little… Read more
damp despite the sensor dryer capabilities, but will just hang on a chair for further drying. Simple use, 1-2 buttons to start. Good with delicates, no problems with tearing. Lint filter fills up really quickly. Pumps a lot of heat, must have door open for ventilation. All in all, good dryer!
Waste of money – I was reasonably happy with this dryer initially, however within weeks of the 2 year warranty expiring it started to disintegrate. Firstly the heat element went, costing $200 to replace. The thermostat is malfunctioning so the dryer can no longer be used on the hot setting without tripping the internal safety switch, and it will periodically stop… Read more
spinning and need to be reset. Not built to last, wish we’d gone with a cheaper option given the lifespan. Fischer and Paykel’s own customer service was also awful, it would have taken over a month to get a technician out to service the machine! Went with local repairer.
Balls sheets and shirts. Too hot – Having been very happy with a Fisher & Paykel in the past, we were confident to go with the brand again in our new apartment. Unfortunately this model has been quite disappointing for the price. * The build quality does not seem what it used to be, but reasonable. Removing the entire control panel for inverted mounting is very fiddly and hampered… Read more
by the panels wiring restraints, but the end result is good. * Drying small and medium items is fine. The auto-sense works well and nothing appears over-dried. * One of the reasons we bought this model was the ability to vary temperature. The high setting however is extremely hot, such that we won't use it. The medium setting is more sensible. The delicate setting is perhaps too low but still effective. * Major frustration however is how frequently it balls larger items. Not sometimes, but always. This is our 4th tumble dryer over the years and we have never had such problems. Even business get balled if you put in more than 5. Forget doing sheets without supervising the dryer and unballing the load a few times. Not even one doona cover and two pillow slips can be done without a few stops, let alone actually making use of the large capacity and doing two sheet.
Sorry FP, this one needed more (or proper) R&D.
