Lasted 7 years not bad – Lasted seven years and cost something like $750. Before that we had a Smeg that cost more and lasted about 10 years. This F&P died because it kept overflowing into the sump underneath causing an E6 message. Might have been able to fix it but at this age not really worth it. Bought a Bosch 6 to replace it Show details
Worst dishwasher we've ever owned – We bought this dishwasher in 2013 and it died today. A small internal component (door switch) burnt out and needs replacing, with the possibility that the control board or other areas were damaged as well. We dislike this dishwasher so much that rather than get a technician in to try replace this part, we've decided to get a new dishwasher from a… Read more
different brand. The shelves pack inefficiently, knives fall through the cutlery section easily, it doesn't clean dishes very well requiring multiple runs, the door is difficult to open, the handle feels flimsy and it was very noisy when operating. Wish us luck with our next dishwasher purchase.
Rubbish dishwasher – This is our second Fisher and Paykel dishwasher bought it 2014 to replace the last one that died out of warranty. The dishwasher does not wash the dishes well, is very noisy and does not dry the dishes effectively. The cutlery basket was very poor quality and developed holes within the first few months of use so the cutlery would fall through. We… Read more
had to throw it out and buy a replacement one from another brand. The adjustable plate holders on the bottom rack are made of flimsy plastic, keep popping off are difficult to reattach - eventually we gave up on them and used plastic ties to secure the racks. The top rack is unstable and the height adjustment is secured by flimsy plastic stops that keep popping out when pulling out the rack.
After 4 years of normal use and regular cleaning as per the manual, the dishwasher cycle doesn't start. This is precisely what happened to the previous dishwasher that could not be repaired. Once again, the dishwasher dies when out of warranty, and we have to foot the bill for a $120+ call out fee just to have the issue investigated. I refuse to waste money on such routine investigations - especially given our previous experience. Fisher and Paykel customer service will not take responsibility for this issue and informed me plainly over the phone "there is nothing we will do to help you".
Fisher and Paykel treat their customers with contempt and produce poorly designed and unreliable products destined for landfill. They do not deserve your business.

Absolutely appaling service – After owning this dishwasher for 4 years it has been nothing but trouble, but the worst of the trouble isn't with the machine, rather the service technicians, support desk and the parts people, their ability to repair the machine is disgustingly poor, the poorest of service technicians I have ever encountered, the first guy damaged the paint on… Read more
the door. The parts department couldn't order the correct part after multiple attempts and weeks of waiting the correct part arrived. 3 attempts to repair the machine resulted in yet the same fault a couple of months later. This machine has damaged our kitchen cabinets from the leakage and F&P don't want to know about it, they couldn't care less. Owning many, many F&P products over the years and currently 10 F&P appliances, I always respected the brand that HAD great products, great service and a warehouse full of spare parts at Carbine Rd, getting an F&P machine in the days gone by was just so simple, which is why I purchased their products. However, NEVER AGAIN WILL an F&P appliance enter my home. This company and their products are a disaster.
Have grown to be very happy with it – At first it seemed noisier than expected, but much quieter than the 2005 dishlex I had before it. The filling cycles and some wash cycles are just noisy enough that I wouldn't program it to come on while I am sleeping. The design of the racks is amazing, permanently set the top rack at the high setting and you'll be amazed how much you can fit in… Read more
the bottom, significantly more than the old dishwasher, including our banquet fryer. The cutlery rack in the top is handy for carving knives etc but to fit a big load in take it out and you'll fit 10 -15% more in this rack.
To achieve better energy efficiency they seem to have increased the washing time of all dishwashers these days by a good 30 minutes, it still doesn't dry plastic items but if I shake them when it finishes and wait half an hour or longer to unload I get a better result.
Good at washing soiled dishes, I used to scrape and rinse all dishes in the past but now just scrape the food off as recommended in the manual and get great results Rack design Noise, cycle time.
Extremely happy! – I thought I wouldn't find a dishwasher as good as my old Electrolux, but I was wrong! I love this dishwasher. We've had it for about 2 months now, and I have been happy with every wash (including the burnt sausage pan results). Seems to use a fair bit of Finish rinseaid, but worth the results. We run it on settled river water with no issues or… Read more · 2
marking. It is a bit noisy, so I delay start so it runs while we're sleeping. The drawer layout is really good. I was a bit sceptical at first, but it works well. The extra cutlery tray up the top is handy for those small items that get in the way, like sippy cup lids, serving spoons, measuring cups... I also looked for a dishwasher with the wine glass notches instead of just a little dip. Top rack adjustment is very handy as we have very large dinner plates which are cleared with plenty of room. Looks fantastic. I did feel like the handle may break eventually as it has a very good latch and it felt like every time you open the door that the handle has too much give, but appears to have loosened off. Highly recommended. Great looks/wash/quality/layout A bit noisy.

Loved this dishwasher – Inherited this dishwasher with our previous house and it was fantastic. Second best dishwasher we’ve owned/used and we have owned/used a lot between flipping houses and using different dishwashers at work. Only bested by the SMEG we installed in our first house build because it was quieter (also a substantially more expensiveness unit). Loved how… Read more
easy to stack this machine is, how it can hold a lot of dishes and cutlery in one load and it’s very flexible with placement of things. Above all it cleans very well. I was hoping to purchase this unit again as we are about to renovate again (we flip houses), however the volume of negative reviews makes me nervous. Perhaps we were just lucky with our machine?
It leaks – After calling in the official f&p repairer, the leaking cannot be fixed. Last time with F&p believe me. Since the China ownership everything went downhill. We are moving to a top Italian brand. Good luck to the F&p new customer they need it. Bad bad bad experience bad service bad attitude bad and frustrating lobo Show details
Good unit works well without any dramas – This one is Quiet and works very well overall. All that is needed is some common sense to not overload this machine with dishes and check that the the filter is free from muck buildup from time to time and its actually trouble free. Overload it with too many dishes or not stacking it correctly inside and it won't work as it should. Same goes with the filter if its blocked it may flood. ( like any other)
Last time for me with fisher and paykel – Seemed to do alright no issues then 1 week after warranty period finished it starts leaking and after trying new seals including the one where you have to buy the whole door skin still leaks from the door corners. This is the second time for us with F&P diswashers and issues so time to move onto a premium brand, which by the way they were once until the ownership changed.
Glad they discontinued this one – I bought this dishwasher in 2012. The dishes where never properly clean or dry, it was quite. Problems started after the warranty ended. First of all in the front panel with error codes etc. The on and off switch sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. And now after four years the pump has stoped working ER4 keeps coming up. It has been a little bit of a temperamental princess this one. So I am getting rid of it and getting a new one.
error code crazy – Ok, so looks good, easy to use, cleans well but day one first use i got an error code E20 (not draining ). Turn it off and on and it drains but still displays error code. Ignored it coz was draining ok regardless and then it displays E30 (flooding ) and just started leaking everywhere. Day one brand new. After much research and contacting company… Read more
it seems im stuck with it coz apparently its the installers fault but i watched him do it and it was smooth as and done properly. Constant problems. Error codes beeping all the time and i have to put towels down for when flooding error comes up and it just had a tantrum. Wud not buy again and no support or help from fisher paykel. Grrrr
Easily as good as more expensive brands – I bought this dishwasher about 2 years ago when I knew I was moving house so didn't want to put in an expensive machine. I love it. Easily as good as previous more expensive brands. Plastic not dried perfectly but yet to find one that does. I am finally moving and will buy another bottom of the line F&P dishwasher for new house.

Can't wait to have the money to replace it – At the 2 years miraculously it breaks down- pipes from top of machine have cooked and are now leaking and so after every wash I have to mop floors - even the repair guy couldn't fix it and I think he felt sorry for us!! 2 years is not a long time!!!!
Designed to fail at about 2 years – Worst Dishwasher ever. Never really rinsed properly, we had to run it on a quick cycle after every wash, just to rinse them properly. At about 1.5 years, there was a break in a plastic moulding at the back, flooding the bottom and stopping it. This was repaired under warranty, and just now, about 2 months out of warranty date, the pipe for… Read more
drainage water has split. Note, it has never been moved except to be repaired, and the drainage pipe has never been touched.. So it split on it's own. Terrible. Getting rid of it today.
NO WONDER IT IS DISCONTINUED - A HEAP OF CRA? – I seems like this machine is designed to die around the end of 2 YEAR warranty period. Being a small family ours would not have had a lot of use and first break down was 4 months from warranty expiry then another 2 breakdowns in the month warranty expired {February}and now another breakdown 3 months out of warranty. Late February at end of… Read more
warranty there was talk of a replacement then when it cracked up again in May the subject of replacement came up and F& P wanted a written report to review if going to replace it.
All of a sudden they realised I had bought extended warranty cover so that was used as an out and they have denied all responsibility so now I have to deal with Total Guard and what a shi? fight that is. This last fiasco has now dragged on for almost a month and we are still no closer to getting this heap of CRA? working.
This will be the last Fisher & Paykel product to come into our house..
Does not wear well – Absolutely disgusted with this dishwasher. The racks do not slide out easily. Can't load bottom fully as it gets too heavy and won't slide. I can't use powder a it gets stuck in dispenser. Seems to get damp and then sticks. Water sits in tops of coffee cups, lips of lids etc. Rinse aid seems to have leaked out from bottom of door. Doesn't clean… Read more
very well now. Have to rewash things. A slimy residue builds up near seal at bottom. Gross! Obviously not built to last. Only about 18 months old. Unfortunately we have another one in our beach house, which doesn't have as much use but has signs of going the same way. Thumbs down all round!
Best Buy ! – Have been really impressed at how well it cleans and dries dishes. Have seen a few bad reviews here and I can't relate to them. I don't find it noisy, the dish racks are adjustable and its pretty easy and straight forward to use. Coming from a Westinghouse which was good, I'd have to say this one is even better.
So annoying – Landlord replaced old dishwasher that was about 30 years old with this model. OMG constantly having to put dishes on a rack to dry out and that makes the place look untidy. I want it to wash and dry and be ready for me to put them away - unfortunately that's not the case. Angry
Heap of rubbish – This is the worst dishwasher....Does not dry dishes at all.....Have to dry by hand......Had a service call the guy claimed that is normal with all Dishwashers......Explained that is not the case as I previously had a Miele that dried dishes perfectly.....Stay away from Fisher &Paykel.....After sales service disgusting.
Just dreadful – The dishwasher is badly designed. The top rack has to be stacked in a curious way and the cups bang in to each other. Whatever cycle is used the whole interior ends up dripping with water. The cutlery and crockery are dripping even if left overnight. Cutlery comes out unclean and cereal bowls have to be rinsed before going in the machine. Definitely not recommended
Reliability sux and flood protection does not exist – Bought 2.5 years ago - Endless issues. * Very noise as we have it freestanding and really, really loud especially at the back – in a cupboard probably OK. The back gets so hot that the water inlet hose has a groove in the black of the black “heat proof” lining stuck to the back of it. * The waste water pump is very weak compared to my old LG… Read more
so when you add the recommended extension hose you need to carefully position it as without extra gravity you get endless pump errors. Also if you position the hose as stated in user manual it does not work at all.
* After a few weeks the cutlery basket warped and the basket lid don’t fit and keep falling threw. I got 2 replacement ones sent to me by F&P under warranty and then gave up as they all kept doing the same. Ended up dumping the lid (the plastic bit with slots for your individual cutlery pieces) and used without – still works but what idiot at F&P thought this was acceptable?
* After 1 year the hose for the waste pump got a lead near the metal it protrudes through at back of dishwasher- flooded the kitchen. Was repaired under warranty and was told by technician common problem.
Same day the same thing – another flooded kitchen – but this time cause the technician didn’t put clamp in correct position and so hose burst off. Also he only replaced half the screws and took them with him. After a number of calls finally got in contact and he said he doesn’t put the screws as it makes it easier for next time- what the? I said that was not acceptable and asked for them back which he said he would drop them off - but after 3 post phone call to F&P and the Technician refusing to call me back I gave up.
* After a year and a bit the water inlet hose connector (at back of machine) cracked and caused a minor flooding in the kitchen as mains water pressure filled the room - was lucky that I was there at the time. Replaced the connector with a better quality one from Bunnings and has been OK since then.
* 2.5 years later another flooded kitchen with an E6 error. E6 means flood switch has been activated – great but it didn’t turn off rather the waste pump kept endless running, E6 displayed and endless beeping but just kept going even when the dishwasher was emptied. I pulled it apart and turns out the plastic insert (sprays water onto top draw knife shelf) had become brittle and come apart. I watched the water pouring out and when I touch it snapped off in my hands. From looking it seems it can’t handle dishwashing chemicals as it looks like it’s been chemical wear and tear affected.
*** Overall disappointed by the low quality and lack of reliability- it cleans dishes OK. ***

Hate it! – Has to be the most annoying dishwasher I have ever used. As mentioned previously, the layout is just terrible. I can't fit anything in as the slots for the dinner plates are so close together you can only place a few at a time. The bottom drawer is hard to move in and out even when it is empty. Can't place anything too high in the top rack as it… Read more
wont close and my glasses always fall over or end up with dirt in the bottom. It is so noisy I have to turn the TV up in the lounge room to hear it. Probably fine if you live alone with one cat, but if you have two cats or a dog - forget it - your dog bowls wont fit!!!!! Guess you get what you pay for...
Would not recommend – We have had our dishwasher for 10 weeks which we use probably 4 times a week. At times it does not wash or dry the dishes very well. If I do not empty it within an hour of the cycle finishing, the dishes seem to come out wet. To top it off there is no power going to the dishwasher. We cannot turn it on. Have tested power point and it works. … Read more
I have rung F&P to get someone out and the operator was very rude. Asked if I had tried this and that, is the door obstructed and other technical stuff, then told me there could be a cost if it is not a warranty fault. When I asked what sort of things this could be she replied I cannot give you any technical advice!! So now waiting for the service call to see what the problem is. Wouldn't buy again, very noisey and the cycle takes far to long.
Very noisey, cycle takes too long, dishes don't always clean or dry, lasted 10 weeks using around 4 times per week.
A complete waste of money – the dishes at the bottom don't get cleaned at all, I have taken off the spray arms - after a lot of difficulty! - as advised on their problem page and they are perfectly clean. There's nothing blocking the spray arms while cleaning so am at a loss, wish I'd kept my old LG doesn't clean the dishes in the bottom compartment, getting the spray arms off and on is a nightmare
isappointed & angry – This machine is only average at washing dishes, no better than many 10 year old designs from different producers. It is acceptably quiet unless you have a special requirement in this area. Appearance is above average. Controls are acceptably easy to master. Problems & design issues are however, legion: 1) During installation, one of the… Read more
very poorly made adjustable feet sheared off, not surprising when you discover it's poor design. Remember that in Australia most kitchens will have tiled floors with minor irregularities & I think That's what caused this problem despite the care we took.
2) Don't rely on the User & Install Manual, the dimensions shown are not a good guide & fail to allow for clearance or an accurate measure of washer dimensions.
3) Almost all cases of installation will require the plastic top panel to be discarded because "as assembled" it won't fit under most benches. So why not supply at a lower cost & offer the top as a a free extra if needed?
4) When you discard the top you will notice a poorly fitted felt insulation pad. Most Australians are constantly battling cockroaches if only in small numbers, this appears to provide them with a home. At least the felt should be vermin proof or better still a more suitable material.
5) I was advised I should be careful to fit a non-return valve to comply with plumbing codes. It turns out that such a device is "built in"; but no mention of this in the manual - should I take up mind reading?
6) Every time my wife opens the door it seems to move the dishwasher a few mm which after a day or two means you need to wriggle it back into position. Annoying & surely avoidable, we never needed to touched our old unit.
7) It should not be necessary ever to swab the concave upward facing recesses in mugs, cups or glassware which tend to trap water if not loaded correctly. This dishwasher does not seem to allow loading with sufficient slope to allow the natural draining of these recesses as a result swabbing is often required. This is time wasting & worse unhygienic.
8) You will soon discover that despite the 14 place setting boast you will be unable to fit more than 3 large dinner plates in the lower rack. I do not refer to monster plates, just restaurant style dinner plates. No obvious warning about this (don't think the sales lady even knew herself). But eventually you might discover buried in the manual that the upper tray can be moved up to create more room. God alone knows why Fisher & Paykel do not suitably adjust the upper tray position at the factory?
9) In our case we now have a dishwasher installed with a greater than desired gap between white dishwasher top & the bench underside, to achieve this the dishwasher has been raised well up on the flimsy adjustable feet.
There is also an unsightly gap between door bottom & the fixed lower panel. These are visually thick black lines running horizontally across the pristine white of the dishwasher.
We are not concerned about wash cycle times & always do a manual pre-wash & soil removal scrub before loading the dishwasher. I am unable to comment on electricity usage, water usage.
Could not in good conscience recommend to a friend & I will not likely ever buy Fisher & Paykel again. Relatively good appearance Multiple faults
great value – Have had dishwasher for two months and performs well. Top tray should be set at high position as the factory default as large plates don't fit on the bottom tray unless the top one is raised. Cycle time is long at 121m for normal wash. Appears to use quite a bit of power Looks great and cleans well at a bargain price! stylish looks, cheap price, easy to use, child lock cycle tine too long, power consumption Show reply
Great clean and excellent value – We did a fair bit of research into this purchase. The reviews on this washer were a little mixed with the positives being very positive and the negatives being mainly around the noise of the unit. We bought ours through The Good Guys and got a great deal at $538. Since bringing it home and installing it we have been very pleased with it. It… Read more
looks sharp, cleans well, is efficient and isn't noisy.
Great value. Inexpensive, energy efficient, looks sharp and cleans very well. Some of the dishes have drips at the end of the cycle.
Budget Dishwasher performing way above expectations – For an under $550 dishwasher we can not ask for more. Yes I have used dishwashers with more flexible options within the dish racks, but after 2 weeks there has been nothing we could not fit in. The racks for mugs and the like could slope bit more so less water pooled in the indent on bottom of our mugs. Lots of mugs means reduced drying… Read more
efficiency. However if we have no mugs and no other things to allow water to pool, it dries everything except plastic completely. Reasonable choice of wash cycles, with a 30 minute cycle for lightly soiled plates. Moveable knife rack at the top is a big bonus for this dishwasher. Nothing has come out dirty needing a further wash. We can hear it when it is on, but we still talk and don't need to turn the tele up just because we turned on the dishwasher. Upper knife rack, low cost. Other than needing to be a bit focused when loading it to achieve the best result, not much.
Unimpressed – We recently replaced our old Fisher & Paykel WD920 with this one, and I'm really not impressed. *Pros* A lot of people seem to be unaware that the top tray is height adjustable. There were instructions in the user manual. If your dinner plates are too tall to sit in the bottom tray, then this is a handy feature. I set mine to the higher… Read more
level and will leave it like that.
The user interface is easy. I like that it displays the time left until the cycle is finished.
I have not had any problems with the cleanliness of dishes. I have been using dishwasher gel and rinse aid, and everything has been coming out very clean and virtually dry. So at least it performs its main function well.
*Cons*
It is much louder than our older dishwasher, in fact it is the loudest dishwasher I have ever come across.
The normal cycle takes 2 hours.
Bottom tray does not slide in and out smoothly
My biggest gripe with this dishwasher is that the stacking prongs on the bottom tray are arranged so that there are several sections with their own direction. I really struggle to find efficient ways to stack the bottom tray.
The gaps between the prongs of the bottom tray are really close together, so when stacking dinner plates, I'm leaving a gap between each one otherwise they are just too close together.
The 'lid' for the cutlery basket is useless. Some of the holes are too small for even a knife to fit into.
If you have any tall glasses or saucers in the top tray, the sliding cutlery tray won't fit, so I don't use it. I keep it in the cupboard with the cutlery basket lid. Cleans my dishes just fine. Top tray is heigh adjustable. Nice, easy user interface that displays timer. Very noisy. Long wash cycles. Inefficient prong arrangements. I find the sliding cutlery tray and the cutlery basket lid useless, so they take up space in my cupboard now.
Design failure – My previous Fisher Paykel dishwasher lasted 12 years, and never had a problem with it. This new model is a design failure, normal size dinner plates do not fit in the loading compartment without the spray jets being obstructed making the unit useless. Now having to take it back to Harvey Norman.
Are your dinner plates for normal sized monsters or have you just not noticed that the top rack is… Read more

one also.. Reliable, energy efficient, inexpensive Disappointed that my dinner plates which I premeasured after reading reviews do not fit. They are 27 cm in diameter and when I say that they don't fit, they go in but the water sprayer will not go because it hits the plates. Very disappointed that Fisher and Paykel would not fix this on their advertising.
I have the exact problem as above- dinner plates do not fit. Absolute design failure taking it back to Harvey Norman today.
Will never get Fisher & Paykel again – The dishwasher worked well for 2 months and then started getting random faults that even the repair man couldn't make sense of. Good so far - Value for money & looks great – We bought this in March so we've had it 2 months and is really good so far. It's true that it is a bit noisy and that plastics don't come out dry but that's ok. fan that dries everything but it's not necessary. I think you can use a rinse aid which helps everything dry quicker. I haven't tried it yet because it's no big deal.
Everything is squeaky clean. I did over pack it one time and there were a few dishes that were not fully cleaned but if you don't over pack it then it's perfect every time.
I made sure I wrote a review because I always look at the reviews here before I buy. I hope this is helpful for you. Let me know how you go. Value for money and looks great! Noisy & plastics don't dry but that's ok because it's more energy efficient that was as there is no drying fan.
Not happy – We have had this dishwasher for 7 months now, we chose it as it has a super wash cycle which reaches a higher temperature than most other ones. After every wash we have to take out the arms and try to remove some of… Read more
the build up, without much success. How hard would it be for a dishwasher arm to have clips that allow you to open them fully and clean accordingly instead of trying to get little pieces of muck out of tiny holes. We tend to hand wash now as that is easier and we aren't having to rewash again as we do with the dishwasher. The Super cycle reaching a high temperature for safer cleaning arms get clogged too easily and too hard to clean out. Having to rewash half the load each time
