I just tried the litter for the first time and really liked it. However, I found the formula to be a little too thin, and it tends to get distributed all over the floor when my cat exits the litter box. Show details
I have been using Fit Litter in my indoor cat's litter tray for a considerable time now and the claim that it lasts a month without odour is just not true at all on both counts. At around 3 weeks the urine odour is quite noticeable and my one and only male cat also manages to spread crystals over a couple of square metres when covering his wees… Read more
and poos. He is one very happy healthy and active cat and I am generally vacuuming crystals off the floor every day or so. The litter tray I have is quite large (495mm x 375mm x 225mm) so it takes an almost full 3.6 kg bag of Fit Litter plus to get full cover to ~ 7.5 mm depth. At least every morning and evening I do a no tilt "panning gold" horizontal action to even out the litter in the tray. Moonshine is very conscientious in covering his business so I have to be quick to check colour and thankfully the colour is always yellow. He had a UTI when young and I was using wood pellet litter. This is the reason I change the Fit Litter out when any odour is present. When I change the litter, there is always a green residue of clumped crystal litter on the plastic floor of the tray and I am hesitant to stir through or dump the whole tray under 3 weeks as suggested. Since I always keep the depth in the tray at the top range of the suggested depth, this indicates to me that the crystals are not really absorbing all the urine effectively.
The fact that it's subscription only is my first fed flag, I don't sign on for any subscription services, I like to control my own consumer choices. I wrote this was an issue on facebook and the inboxed me a link to purchase once. This is not an option in the online store. Pros: Delivered to my door quickly Light weight Worked really well for a… Read more
week Limited tracking through my house
Cons: Subscription only (that's a no from me) Became increasingly smelly when stirring in wet with dry and I felt sorry for my cat. (This stirring process becomes more laboured each day and I've contemplated a breathing apparatus because the smell is unbearable). Incredibly expensive compared to breeders Choice where I'm guaranteed one bag will last the month It becomes incredibly wet and yellowed at the two week mark and that's when I threw it out.
I HAVE ONE CAT!
I will be looking into their "risk free" policy where they offer a refund.
There's dramatic changes on social media sights as to what the actual product now looks like! I purchased beautiful white crystals in tiny tiny slither from. But it's now showing large rock like in colour, shaped like breeder choice twirl, nothing at all like a purchased and no new improved formula being sprouted, it changes from add to add and the have lots of cat pictures on their website but very few products. SO WILL THE REAL FIT LITTER PLEASE STAND UP!
This litter does not control oudor as stated on the advertising of this product. The litter tracking is extremely high, it gets everywhere constantly having to vacuum the house at least twice a day. I was looking for a litter for my automatic litter box and thought this would be great. I am very disappointed with the litter, I have cancelled my subscription and will go back to the original litter. Show details
I’ve had cats for two decades and this is by far the best cat litter I’ve ever used. I’m in an automatic cleaning litter and am using the crystals. The odour containment is great and compared to the last clumping litter I used, this does a much better job. I tend to also need to clean it once a month so the claims track. I’m a little… Read more
apprehensive on the health monitoring claims but even as an indicative, I’ll take it as a bonus. It’s also very light and easy to store.
Quite impressive.
Absolutely incredible for my household of 3 cats! Will never go back to normal litter
Initially thought it was great but after about 10 days the odour suppression stopped working. I changed it and the same thing happened. Disappointing Show details
Follow-up · It was 2.7L Not clumping (crystals) I've gone back to using Happy Tails crystals that I buy at Bunnings which at $25aud for 10kg works just as well other than not having the change of colour to pick up urinary problems
It doesn’t last for 30days. I have one 8 month old and after 10 days FitLitter was sodden. It wasn’t kept in a bathroom so no shower moisture affected it. It was so wet that I took it outside in direct sunlight to dry it out but it work. I’m very fastidious in keeping the tray clean so was stirring after each urination and poop. I asked them to… Read more
give me advice but instead they refunded my money. I’m glad they refunded my money but they definitely remove all negative reviews. I don’t recommend this product at all.
So far, my experience with Fit Litter hasn't been that great! I ordered express postage and although AusPost did indeed meet the express timeframe, it took Fit Litter 3 days to actually send the litter. Unfortunately, they sent my item on a Friday, so I wouldn't receive it until the Monday. That means that it took 5 to 6 days to actually get it!… Read more
I honestly feel like that I should've just gone 5 minutes down the road to my local Petbarn to get it!
When I received it, I was absolutely flabbergasted at how much it tells you to put it in the litter tray! No wonder why they claim it last so long! Because you're required to use so much! I had to go out and spend $150 on new litter trays to ensure that it would fit!
The dust! It's absolutely horrible! There's just so much of it that our air purifiers have been going at max capacity since pouring!
Don't get me started on the litter tracking! It gets absolutely everywhere and the colour of the litter blends in with my floors! So that means that you don't know that it's there until you step on it!
Now lets talk about it's odour control. My cat took a pee and guess what! I could smell it straight away! There's absolutely no odour control whatsoever. Even after "stirring/swirling" the litter.
The only positive I've got with this litter and the colour changing based off of PH level.
The clumping litter that I used didn't have any of the above issues. I feel like I was sucked in with the deceptive marketing and it quiet honestly is not worth the price you pay! I'm cleaning more than I was with my old clay litter and our air purifiers are working extra hard to get rid of the dust. If the crystals don't work out than I may try their paper litter!
I'll update this review in 4 weeks based upon my experience.
I’ve been using Fitlitter crystal cat litter for years now and honestly wouldn’t switch to anything else. Both of my cats took to it immediately with no adjustment period at all, which was such a relief because one of my cats can be quite picky with litter changes. What I love most is how long it lasts — one bag easily lasts me a full month with… Read more
two cats. I simply scoop the poop daily, flush it down the toilet, and stir the crystals around to keep everything fresh and evenly absorbent. It stays surprisingly odour-free compared to other litters I’ve tried, and there’s far less mess and tracking around the house.
A huge benefit for me personally is that my male cat suffers from a urinary condition where his bladder forms crystals. Because Fitlitter is a crystal litter, it makes it much easier to monitor urine colour and changes, which gives me peace of mind and helps me keep an eye on his health between vet visits.
Overall, it’s been incredibly convenient, hygienic, and reliable. After years of use, I can confidently say it’s been amazing for both my cats and for making litter maintenance so much easier.
Highly recommend!
I tried this for a period of 6 months, it does not last 30 days. I was changing it every 2 to 3 weeks, sometimes less as the smell was too much, the mix in method did more harm than good and in the end my cat ended up refusing to use it and… Read more
urinating outside her litter box. She was also grooming herself more than usual, I noticed there was a fine dust attracting to her fur, and litter particles on her paws and tail, she was ingesting this litter which lead to her rapid decline in health. It also tracks everywhere and unbeknownst to me my cat ended up getting very sick, a year later I had to make a difficult decision as she suffered a serious health issue that the vet could not explain but assumed it was kidney or liver damage, by ingesting this litter and the dust that accumulated in her fur I soon realised this litter was the main cause to her rapid health decline, my cat was active, clean and happy, after using this litter she was never the same, I reverted back to her previous litter but it was a struggle to make her use it again. This litter is a danger to feline health and the claims they state it is much better than other litters is false advertising. I highly recommend not buying this litter or using it at all.
It also states it has a urine tracking feature that monitors your cats health, there was no change in colour only a change in her health, by this time I was too late to save her ongoing health issue. What I thought would be the best litter option for my cat sadly ended up being a never ending health battle and I had to make the tough decision to sadly have her put down. Do not buy this litter and do not believe the hype. It’s dangerous and a major health hazard for felines
Follow-up · What type of litter did I use before switching to Fit Litter? I’ve used Fit Litter for 4 months now with one kitten (currently 6 months old). I was excited to try it after seeing so many rave reviews, but unfortunately, it hasn’t lived up to the hype for us. Despite carefully following all the instructions and keeping the litter box in a well-ventilated, dry room, the litter doesn’t last 30 days as claimed… Read more
— at best, we get around 21 days of effective odour control.
Tracking is a major issue, even with the Fit Litter mat. We’re vacuuming twice a day just to keep things tidy. I’ve also noticed a light powdery residue from the litter settling on our cat’s coat, which used to be smooth and shiny. The odour from the used litter seems to cling to his fur as well.
Unfortunately, we won’t be continuing with this product.
