Ford Endura (2018-2026)

Great Vehicle that suffered from poor marketing when new - grab a 2nd hand bargain if you can – 2019 Ford Endura with 70k kms. I have purchased this 2nd hand, it had 63k kms on the clock. This is a good car without being great. Ford should still be selling them, then they were on sale new Ford completely missed the market with the sales pitch and the vehicle was unloved, it is now popular on the 2nd hand market. I traded up from a 2016 Ford Mondeo which was a great vehicle, the Endura is based on the same platform. I also own a 2017 Jaguar F-Pace with a 2.0 lt diesel engine so have a valid comparison. What I don't like:

Engine is not refined or as fuel efficient as the Jaguar, it also has less torque. When you place the gearbox into reverse, it does not lock into gear immediately and the vehicle will roll forward if you are on a slope until you give it some revs - very annoying, first vehicle i have had do that. Fuel sloshes around in the fuel tank - WTH Ford? Uses Ad Blue like its no tomorrow - 3 x times what the Jaguar uses. Rear Suspension is not refined - you need quality tyres If you need to change the Battery, you need a professional, its tucked up under the windscreen/dash and you need to remove a number of other engine parts to get to it. You need a cargo mat in the rear - the carpet is like glass, everything slides around

What I do like: Impressive features from electronic safety aids to heated and cooled seats (my favourite on a hot day) Great on the highway with good fuel efficiency Very spacious Very comfortable to drive and ride in Solidly built, feels safe. good fit and finish Handles well around town with the exception of in the wet if you don't look after the rear tyres and the above rear suspension. I would happily buy another one, even a new one if they were still sold. I am spoilt by having the Jaguar as a comparison but if it was just the Endura on its own, it would beat most comparisons with its peers. If you can find one
