I wish I coukd give a MINUS STAR RATING for their customer service. I purchased a 10 person tent from them and on the first night I had it up installed it got collapsed from the wind and WE END UP SLEEPING IN THE CAR WITH 2 KIDS RIGHT IN WINTER TIME. morning, very early, the park ranger picked up the broken tent so our evidence for refund has gone.

We had our friends as witness but still Freddys Fishing & Outdoors refused to provide refund under any circumstances.

I WON'T RECOMMEND OZTRAIL TENTS TO ANYONE AS THEY ARE VERY FLIMZY !

Freddy's regularly mislead with some of their sales. Their relevant sales claim all items reduced with exceptions, which is fine, but the exceptions are incorrect. made in China are excluded also (e.g. Commander, Battler, probably others).

I have advised them of the error and asked them to either correct their advertising to stop misleading customers (or alternatively, to reduce the non-Japanese items) but they have not responded despite numerous attempts.

Extremely disappointing and frankly concerning behaviour. Actively distrust them at this point.

Great service – Bought the oztrail fast frame ensuite, very happy with product, much better quality than my last pop up one from a different store. Very sturdy in the wind and plenty of room inside. Superfast delivery, recieved package a week earlier than was told, can't complain with that. Have bought various products from freddy's and never had an issue, can highly recommend. Thanks Guys

couldn't order in any from the supplier at the lower price I had purchased them for - yet were quite happy to take my money and not let me know this until I followed it up. They said they didn't have any shirts at that price but would happily sell me any of the other more expensive shirts on the website if I wanted to pay the difference! I believe this is called 'Bait Advertising' - perfect fit for a store selling fishing gear.... As the name suggests, bait and switch advertising occurs where a business offers a product for sale. However, in reality, this sale isn’t available, so they offer something else for a higher price. In line with consumer protection laws, bait and switch advertising is highly unethical and is therefore prohibited under the ACL. Even if your business does this unintentionally, you could be held liable and face heavy penalties for breaching the ACL.

As a first time customer there I will never shop with Freddys again and advise you against it also... avoid disappointed kiddos and go spend your hard earned cash and at a shop that isn't deceptive like Freddy's is....

grateful I don't complain to the ACCC. More common than ever that DISHONEST or INCOMPETENT Australian retailers don't give a damn about whether their online listings REFLECT ACTUAL STOCK LEVELS. They don't care, because it gets you to their site. Sickening really.

Item not working - Customer service – I bought a premium camping stove (Gasmate) that wasn't working properly from the beginning (1 stove stopped working after a week, the second one after a couple of months). although I tried to contact again another time. As a result I definitely recommend to avoid buying items from this dishonest company although they do have a great range of products. Customer service is just... inexistent.

Again, 9 days later I phoned Freddy's once more to enquire after the clips since they had not arrived. I was again asked to email, which I did. I received no response.

Another 3 days later I emailed again. Still no response.

The following day I phoned Freddy's and spoke once again to their online team. The person I spoke to was exceptionally rude and told me the clips had been delayed from Coleman (which no-one had informed me since I had received absolutely no communication from Freddy's). The person said I "couldn't expect them to phone customers every day to tell them the clips aren't in". I said I didn't want to be phoned every day. I wanted to have just one of my 3 phone calls and 3 emails enquiring where the clips were returned, since they had not been delivered and as far as things could be perceived from my end, they had forgotten to send the clips. Yet I had received absolutely no response.

No staff I spoke to apologised for the broken clips, which they are aware happens frequently when they send the table through the post (yet also fail to take any steps to mitigate that risk by packaging more appropriately).

Further, no one apologised for the fact they had failed to respond to any one of my 3 emails and 3 phone calls over a 2-week period since receiving the broken product, chasing the replacement clips they said I would receive within 4 days.

Finally, when I requested they send the clips urgently and via express post (noting there were 2 long weekends approaching on which we would like to use the table), the online team member said they "didn't 'see the point" in sending them express post because they wouldn't arrive any faster.

This is such a shame because Freddy's have a large range of products and are local to many Australian states. But their failure to send the clips in the time stated or to inform me they had been delayed by responding to any single one of my 3 emails and 3 phone calls is completely unacceptable. As yet, I am still waiting for the replacement clips to arrive and anticipate I'll be having to chase them again.

I have no confidence if there was a problem with a Freddy's product in the future that they would rectify it without customers having to chase and chase them. It's their product, they failed to pack it appropriately for delivery, it broke and it was their obligation to rectify it promptly. They completely failed to do so and treated me rudely and with complete disrespect.

The risk of shopping with them is not worth it. Avoid them and go elsewhere. There's plenty of alternative and good quality online camping stores.

they rang me back and told me it was out of stock. I reminded the staff member I had checked first, then I told them which store had it in stock. They found it, said thanks, and that’s what happens at Freddy’s when people leave messages on bits of paper everywhere. So then the item was shipped, and that’s where the problems escalated. After no change in tracking I rang the online team to find out where it was. The said, we sipped it with Couriers Please, you’ll need to wait. Multiple phone calls, emails (some unanswered after a week) still nothing. When I asked the online team why they shipped it with Couriers Please, they said, we have problems all the time and try not to ship with them. (So why use a Courier with the worst ratings in Australia if you want happy customers.). By this time it was a couple of days before my sons birthday. So I suggested I drive to the store, get a replacement and Freddy’s can divert the courier back to their warehouse. I was told by a very condescending kid “no, we can’t refund or replace until we have the item back, how can we trust you if it finally turns up?”. So I suggested they contact the Courier company and see if I can pick it up from a depot. Freddy’s response was “you’ll have to do it yourself.

My parcel turned up 3 weeks after I ordered, QLD metro to NSW metro. During this time I had dozens of other parcels ordered and delivered with no problem. Really dumb customer service to wait 5 days for the customer to push to ship the parcel, then use a very badly rated courier service. Not a good recipe for customer satisfaction. But the worst part in my personal experience was Freddy’s general arrogance and general lack of genuine interest in resolving issues.

All round, online shopping with Freddy’s was the I experienced all year, from delivery time, customer service and general attitude. I’ll never be back and hope my personal experience gives people some insight.
