Friendly Moving Men

I had a shocking experience with this company. It was completely out of the ordinary. When I made the booking I was told it was all going to be fine and that that's what they were there for to take the stress out of moving. I have used removal lists at least 10 times. In the past I have had no complaints. These guys were unprofessional. They turned up late after calling at 7:40 in the morning to tell me that'd be here in 20 minutes. They then rolled up at 8:35 attempting to get into a fire exit. They then moved their truck into the car park to find that they had not checked their truck before leaving and it had no dollies on board. So their boss had to bring out dollies and then they got upset that there was too much to move. When I made the booking I went through everything and then added. What if I have extra boxes and I was told there was no way the move was going to take more than 6 hours even if I had a lot more boxes. I had three more boxes than odd quoted. They then got upset that they had to get up and down lifts. When I had specifically mentioned this on the booking. They didn't communicate during the move. They were pretty antisocial and very involved in their own private conversation or one of them had got a new job or what he referred to as his real job and they were very interested in talking about that. So interested that when I tried to butt in I was treated like an enemy. Further on I asked them to protect each year. It's my favourite armchair. I spent a lot of money on it. I've taken really good care of it. I found that it is scratched and will cast more than the move to repair. I called initially during the move because they had ripped the mattress protector from my mattress and had dirtied my mattress. I sent these photos to their very indignant boss who then shifted the blame back on to me to tell me that rapport could have been better on both sides since when was it my responsibility to create rapport with the people I hire. He then refunded me $200 to get the mattress professionally cleaned because it had been in pristine condition being quite new. They not fate off my fridge and then became upset that I wanted them to replace it. They told me that my Westinghouse and Fisher and pikel were flimsy. They have gone through other moves without problem. It was almost as if they were doing me a favour and a lot of people mentioned to me during the move that my movers looked disorganised and I would have to say from my previous experience that was a fair assessment. They delivered boxes marked fragile upside down and wall art boxes on their sides. Almost seemed intentional but they weren't that smart.. They didn't seem organised. They hadn't checked their truck before they left in the morning. They took nearly an hour to get to me when they were in the next suburb. They were chatting amongst themselves which meant they weren't being efficient. When I showed the photos to their boss of my chair that I'd ask to be kept protected and it is now scratched. One of the bits of leather has been torn. He then accused me of trying to extort money and threatened to call the police to which I welcomed. I'm not sure why I'm but I am now taking this through consumer law because they failed on section 60, section 61, section 267 subsection 4 and 268.. I applaud the boss for protecting his staff so much but he has to be accountable for their poor behaviour. Their less than professional conduct not even checking their truck to make sure they had the equipment they needed to move somebody. And they shouldn't have damaged my furniture. No one else has. I do hope anybody who is about to hire them reads this take photos of all your possessions so that you can have absolute proof that these guys will damage your furniture. The unfortunately thing is their boss is pretty unprofessional so as long with his threads to me he was also taunting me misspelling my name. Sending inappropriate emojis in response to my text messages telling me he'd blocked me. All because I made a complaint about their service. This is unprofessional so just know when you're hiring people that are doing the job cheaply they may not have the expertise they say they have and they may not be open to discussing improvements in their practises. Well I appreciate the $200 refund for the mattress. They have to take responsibility for scratching my armchair. It's going to cost me quite a lot to get fixed so I know I'm going to be cat because I know the owner is pretty disrespectful making personal attacks that he cannot back up and the police never arrived yesterday because there is no warrant for them to waste their time because I've text messaged photos of damage.
Bad experience – My furniture was damaged by not being covered, mattresses and couch made dirty, fridge dented, fresh paint damaged, removalists swearing and clowning around, I was advised to have three men but the third had his hands in his pockets a lot and advised dryer didn't fit when it did. One guy wrote up high in dust on a light that I can't reach to clean. They left fridge food behind covered with other boxes. They left boxes stacked outside that fell and smashed. It was a big move, in tight spaces but their response has been rude and insulting. There is definitely a difference between their crews. They have admitted taking photos of my items without my permission and one worker inferred he had a criminal record. They get paid by the hour. The second crew were more efficient and professional, trying hard. After an frightening meeting, I was offered compensation for one item. I'm scared of what they are going to do following this review but I tell it without being insulting. I'm 34 weeks pregnant and they have caused me so much stress. There is a surcharge for using a credit card. The first crew went missing for 15 minutes on the drive.
