Review from a former Landlord
I purchased an apartment in inner city (Sydney) area and with much excitement decided to let it out as short-stay accommodation through Furnished Properties. I had met with the owners a few times prior to going with them and was promised the returns were well worth the effort of fully furnishing the apartment and getting it up to a comfortable standard. I even went the extra yards and purchased top quality furniture and appliances because this was supposed to attract quality corporate clientele.
Unfortunately it became evident over time that...the promises made were not promises kept. Instead of regular corporate clients staying from 1 month - 6 months at a time as they promised, bookings for my apartment were predominantly through online booking platforms for short stays of 4 days to 21 days. Not to mention that some of the guests were the type of people that I would personally not want to stay in my place if I had to choose. There was a lot of damage to my property caused by guests - I was actually appalled at how awful some people are (nappies flushed down toilet blocking drains, shower cubicle being flooded causing damage downstairs, broken dining table, destroyed bathroom vanity lights). Honestly some people are disgusting. Of course gaps in bookings inevitably crept up resulting in unrealised revenues. All in all in the end the income generated was no better than had I just rented the apartment out on a traditional long-term lease. Furthermore, the cleaners they used only ever did a mediocre job of cleaning which resulted in guests complaining that cleanliness was not to standard. Admittedly I must say some of the guests were a bit precious and nit-picking, but when you pay for a check-out clean you would expect it to be done properly. Overall, if you are thinking about renting out your property with Furnished Properties, I would say they are not bad - but the service and attention to detail is lacking and needs significant improvement. I will say however that they do have new management in place and I think they are trying to improve things, but I think they have too many apartments under their management so they are unable to devote sufficient time to provide a quality service to landlords.

Worst customer service experience of my life
I don't really know where to start with these guys, but they are honestly one of the worst companies I have dealt with in my entire life.
First issue was that the property we originally wanted to rent and was shown as available was given away to another customer. Being flexible we agree on another property, we were offered this at a discounted rate, however had to correct the customer service rep when they sent the invoice as they were then actually trying to charge us more. No worries, still ok, these things happen.
Communication was pre...tty average to start with, however we managed to confirm that our payment was received and that early check in would be possible from noon on the day of our arrival. Lo and behold when we arrived and contacted FP they told us that they weren't aware of early check in and that we'd have to wait. After complaining about this they finally grudgingly agreed to come down and let us check in. This is where the real fun started.

Worst service ever, misleading information
Firstly I arrived at the property and couldn't find unit as wasn't advised where key was, was advertised under cover Bay and internet, received neither.
Property was dirty and main room had water leaking from roof on electrical plugs below, so unsafe. They had tradesman walk in house next day no notice while I was at work.
Photographs on internet for 22 fontenoy Rd, north Ryde are false and property looks nothing like it.

I was electrocuted twice
I was electrocuted twice by their washing machine, they lied to me in the first email telling me they'd have someone tend to it, and the 2nd time I was electrocuted about two weeks later expecting them to have fixed it. Both times I was rather shocked but seems like I injured my right shoulder pulling back suddenly when shocked, no burns and I'm otherwise ok. Also I'm paying over $500 per week and they cannot even take responsibility for the plumbing, I've been living with really bad hygiene for over a month now because I cannot afford that ext...ra $200 to do the plumbing as I just started a degree and I have no spare time to make that extra bit more money even though I try. Because of the bad hygiene from discusting toilet issues needing tending by a plumber, I have become sick and have been attending uni with so many tissues and I usually never get sick my immune system is strong. Also the place was very mouldy and dirty when I moved in. The one large bed was two crappy single beds pushed together. Does anyone have any advice how to deal with this situation as I'm just a 1st year undergraduate student... On arrival a few items needed repairing or replacing and some extra cleaning was required. This was taken care of so we are satisfied with the apartment now. Not exactly executive luxury but perfectly reasonable and the company were pleasant and helpful, keen to put right the items we complained about.

Furnished Properties Pty Ltd-Very poor customer service; places listed on available dates are not av
We were in desperate need for a place close to the hospital and had found 5 different properties that came up for the specific dates that we entered though the Stayz website. On Wednesday night we sent individual booking request off for all properties, but we received emails back from Furnished properties Pty Ltd who managed these properties. With every place we inquired about, their returning email said someone from Furnished Properties Pty Ltd would be in contact soon but there was absolutely no follow up from this company for days - not unt...il ONE email was received on Monday stating "fully booked". After repeated attempts at calling during that previous week when I wasn't able to get through, I was relieved when someone eventually picked up on Saturday. The person on the line seemed disinterested and the said no they are all booked without even checking. I was thinking 'what, everywhere???' It seemed like he was just saying that to get me off the phone. When I was trying to ask if there was anything else in the local area that they could help us with it as we were desperate due to a situation at the hospital, it was like he hung up, the phone cut out and we received no return call from him. After all of our attempts to contact them this seemed very rude. In summary, disgraceful customer service, advertising properties as available when they are not, and in total a very negative experience. Thankfully we found something through another apartments website who were professional, acted quickly in getting back to us and as it turns out were cheaper for a lovely place. We are also notifying Stayz of this.
Great location and apartment!!
My partner and I had looked endlessly for the right apartment in the location of Surry Hills, as this is where we wanted to be. We found an apartment on Goulburn Street that was offered by Furnished Properties Pty Ltd. More importantly it was available for our dates and the price was within our budget. Booking process was trouble free and Joe on arrival was a great welcome to only the apartment but the area, with suggestions of local cafes, restaurants and bars to check it. Thanks Joe and Furnished Properties. Hope to see you next year!!
The choice over a hotel in Sydney
Our usual choice for accommodation in Sydney was a hotel, however through the advice of a colleague I booked a furnished apartment with Furnished Properties and found the experience stress free. The apartment was as advertised and [Name removed] made the arrival and check in informative and fun. Will use them again.
Zero customer care
I have now left 2 emails enquiring about some properties in Sydney, and received no reply. It seems they don't really have a need to rent out their apartments and after reading the reviews below I have no desire to rent through them. Looks like I had a lucky escape!
Very Poor Customer Service
I am renting a property currently. I am locked in a for a few months and through a third party business. I have made a call to Furnished Properties and complained about some very basic requirements. The response I received from them was very poor. They weren't willing to listen and advised that I had signed the contract and that was that...I notified them of just 3 items, WIFI unworkable and insecure, cockroaches and damage that worse getting worse based upon poor workmanship. The issues are a concern but the attitude is archaic it is the worst...example of customer care I have seen in awhile. They did agree to write an email to the owner but I haven't heard anything by way of courtesy. My neighbours who also rent from Furnished properties have similar concerns. I would tread carefully if working with this company. I would also suggest that the glowing reports are probably 'manufactured' on the experience I have received. I could go on about condition and state of repair but I think that has been covered elsewhere - my advice would be to go elsewhere.
Poor value for money
I booked an unserviced 2 bedroom apartment for a month being only slightly cheaper than a serviced hotel room. On arrival the bin was full of rubbish and smelt and no lights worked (these were however fixed promptly the next day). The carpark was very small. The apartment was on the 14th floor but the elevators were not working properly providing long waits and often having to climb the stairs. I paid quite a lot for WiFi however when I arrived I was told the apartment didn't have it and I was handed a mobile dongle. This was so slow it could ...not be used so I assume it had already reached its limit. Other issues included the TV volume did not work and neither did the DVD player. It appeared to get very little maintenance. I found the company to be inflexible with my booking and unwilling to refund or make changes even well in advance. Once they have your money that is it. On the positive side the location of the flat was very convenient and they did provide a small welcome pack. I would not use them again.
Great service genuine
Very smooth transition for my son, highly organised and really nice people run this organisation. Its great for those who come from out of town. Room was clean and tidy. Leasing arrangements easy. Airport to furnished property to Crown St all over in less than an hour! Loved the provision of linen and airconditioning.

Don't expect a refund of your deposit!
The property was good but the problem came after we followed up the refund of the deposit.
After weeks, the deposit was not in our account. After writing to them, we eventually received a partial refund.
When we pointed out the error in the statements via emails, they stopped replying.
Use a more reputable provider as these sharks will/have keep as much of the deposit as they can.
For the record, the apartment was left in great shape as I own properties myself.

Perhaps LilianT is confusing Furnished Properties with Furnished Property. I have stayed in apartments managed by Furnished Properties (www.furnishedproperties.com.au). They were immaculate, beautifully furnished and excellent value. The personal service offered by www.furnishedproperties.com.au is without fault. They even personally check you into your apartment (a welcome surprise after a long flight) and show you around to familiarise you with all the gadgets (foxtel, wifi etc). I have stayed in other furnished apartments in Sydney but will only be using www.furnishedproperties.com.au in the future. Their service is second to none.

Poorly managed furnished property
The furnished apartment was dirty on arrival. It was located on the third floor and the lift did not work for duration of stay. There were also numerous other building issues. The property manager deliberately withheld information on building defects and also tried to renege on rental agreement after rental deposit was paid.
