Gardena no longer offers quality but its still pricey – I have used these for years. Some of my old ones still work, especially as I protect them from the sun. But the new ones do not outlast their guarantees any more. Whats happend to german made stuff. Its getting as bad as rubbish from china. From now on I will be keeping my receipt and making a note of it ON the product so I know for sure its the timer that relates to that receipt. I have no receipt so cant take it back.

To much unesesscary time wasted and cost of fitting them and returning when they constantly fail – On our acreage property here in Australia we use a lot of manual water timers for efficiency. 15 years ago all were Gardena 2 hr manual timers that seemed to last forever, expensive but high quality. Recently we purchased 5 after one week from installation all but one have been returned for exchange for other brands, always same problem.......… Read more

timer does not turn off. This has effected our confidence buying all Gardena products from hoses, couplings and hose reels to tools and the useless timers the subject of this review.

Great when working but dont last – Purchased a dozen of these timers over the last 2 years. Of those 2 were faulty when unpacked and returned to Bunnings. (You would turn the knob and it would immediately spring back) Of the rest 2 more faltered during the next 12 months. (Turn to a time and they did not count down leaving the tap turned on) Two more have now failed today almost… Read more

2years old. That's 6 out of 12 - 50% failure rate. When they work they are great. Quality - you decide. Return policy at store maintains "must have receipt as proof of purchase" - so keep receipt for 2 years and photo copy it - the receipts fade then you cant replace them. I have 3 now failed in a box unable to be replaced - no receipt. Update:- 3 more failed. One within a week of purchase- replaced. Then both the replacement and the other of those 2 failed at 1 year old. Changed the rating to a 1 and would use a 0 if available. Still negotiating a refund. Should have 2 year warranty.

Timer Function – My timer worked well for years and then stopped ticking. I purchased a new one which stopped after i day, returned it to the shop for a replacement and it lasted only one day. Not ticking either connected to water supply or not.

poor quality prone to failure – Gardena products are prone to failure after short term use. I have had 3x sprinklers and every one of them failed very quickly. I suggest looking for another brand. Show details

Excellent quality – I've had two Gardena 2hr manual timers - previous model - for about 10 years (probably longer). Both still work perfectly. I'm about to buy another two, for different taps. Thoroughly recommended!

Solid construction works perfectly – I have owned holman and hardie pope timers before this and both were terrible. They did not last and were not accurate. The Gardena timer is excellent, as soon as you pick it up and turn the timing mechanism it is obvious it is better quality than the other brands I've tried (I think they are manufactured in Germany). I've had two of these for a… Read more

few months now and they are working perfectly. They were a little more expensive, but I am expecting they will last a lot longer!
