Some people! – We put this twin tumbler composter together without instructions, but without problems either. (Thanks Mum for losing the instructions!). I broke a couple of clips but quickly figured out 'how to' without breaking any more, and there were ample spares to cover my breakages. As some reviewers have complained, we also had the issue of getting to the… Read more
final tumbler connection, and finding it offset, but I discovered that we'd placed a panel on upside down as we went. After rectifying OUR mistake, everything went together perfectly. The (hex) ends went onto the tumbler squares easily, snapping into place beautifully. It was fairly easy for us to work out which parts went where, even without the instructions. THEN, I read the reviews! Some people can be harsh! All the complainers here show that it is difficult to make things idiot-proof, but I think that this is pretty close. Unless this (which I see now is discontinued) was re-engineered in it's final years of manufacture, I can't see what all the one-star reviews are about. How can ours, which fitted together perfectly in the end, be the only one in history to fit together perfectly? I like the final article, and enjoyed the process of assembly, but then I also enjoy Sudoku! Now, I'm going to pop in some CHEWing GUM, and WALK out to inspect the composter again, feeling quite smug. Thanks Aldi and Gardenline. FIVE-STARs
Products works well, but absolute lack of support from ALDI – I had no problem assembling and using my composted for a while but, due to bad design, one of the doors on mine broke. I asked to purchase a replacement, and they have no parts and asked me instead to search a well-know Chinese website! Very disappointing, as any product is only as good as its weakest part. Got there in the end – As I had lost the manual I was googling this product and my heart sank when I saw the reviews. However the person who said to soak the clips in hot water - thankyou! None broke! It all went together OK, was fiddly but doable. I am looking forward to using it now. Also thankyou to the person who gave the Aldi phone number and product number as they emailed out the manual straight away. Yay the internet :) Show details
Works for me – At half the price of similar products I wasn't too perturbed that it was a pain to put together. But following the instructions, everything fitted perfectly. My food scraps and plant material breaks down beautifully and I have nice free fertiliser for my garden. To empty the bin, I just place a tray under the unit and open the door. I like that it doesnt take up a lot of room and rodents can't get into the bins. Show details
Don't bother with clips - use cable ties! – I read the reviews complaining about the clips before I assembled. I got the first one to work and wondered what the fuss was. Then I broke three in a row and went oh now I see. Not one to give up I went to what anyone with and iq over 80 would do - cable ties. Simply use two cable ties in place of each clip and you are laughing. If anyone… Read more
from Aldi is reading this give up on the clips and supply cable ties, it's much easier and would be no doubt cheaper.
Other then that it's easy to put together with some patience.
A bit smaller than we thought but pretty good.

Sorry I bought it – I know why this was marked down.. My son took 3 hrs and most of the clips broke luckily I had some Cable Ties or he would have given up. It is now up but I read the use instructions and still don't follow how to use the two tumblers as I 3/4 filled the first in 2 days. Show details
Assembling nightmare – I had to ask for help to put this together; that's never a good sign when you need assistance. The clips were too brittle to link the panels together; some of the panels cracked in the process because, they too were brittle. We gave up on the clips and used those plastic tie strips instead. Magical! So I've ended up with a damaged tumbler but… Read more
it's holding together so far. The only other thing that I would suggest from the manufacturer, would be to include better instructions on how to use it etc. instructions relevant to that particular type of composter. Sadly, I would not recommend purely for the frustration value of putting it together.
Impossible to put together – I cannot assemble this as one of the panels has edges that will not fit with the adjacent panel... a manufacturing problem, not an assembly problem. In addition there were five fewer clips than needed and clips kept breaking. Very disappointed. I will be reulcant to ever buy an Aldi product again. Show details

Excellent experience with mine – Have not had a single problem with mine. Putting it together was a breeze.... and I usually don’t do we’ll with self assembly. Easy to use and is a valuable addition to my gardening experience. Show details
Piece of junk – I was wondering why this was marked down! Impossible to line up parts, well the ones that dont break. Almost had a nervous breakdown trying to put it together but it sure did make me want to drink copious amounts of alcohol. It is a piece of garbage and I will have to return it. Show details
Gardenline twin tumbling compost – I was so disappointed in this twin tumbling compost bin , it wasn’t cheap and it wasn’t easy to put together, I followed instructions and the clips kept braking, I eventually ran out of clips and couldn’t finish it. I was more disappointed that I wasted my money on this product that wasn’t cheap, and I realised when I checked the internet on compost bins there was so many cheaper! Show details
Disaster! – Tried so carefully not to break clips but over half snapped. Lid panel didn't line up but after using a cable tie, realised sides didn't go on then either. Total waste of time and money. Show details

Sorry Aldi... you disappoint me and I am a strong fan of yours – As per most other reviews this is a pretty ordinary piece of equipment. YES the clips are brittle, YES pull ties would be a much better way of putting this together. I broke all the spares plus a few and I did read the instructions and aligned all pieces in my own mind prior to starting. Yes the sides are difficult to get into place (this is where… Read more
I am up to, but am not going to waste any further time on it) I am sure the company that made it got their staff in and gave it a good go of putting it together properly, they should have picked up someone off the street to see how they handled it. Interestingly, this will be my 3rd Gardenline product that I will be returning in the past 5 months. We were recommended their hose spray gun and bought 2...for front and back hoses both brilliant, until a week later and one of them somehow broke internally and it lost its trigger locking device (a great selling point for someone with arthritis) Then a couple of weeks ago we saw a new 'improved' model that seemed more sturdy; so in we went again. It is just a shocker compared to the remaining original purchase that is still working fine... almost strangely... BUT my 65 inch Bauhn TV is almost 3 years old and going gangbusters.. so I am not biased in any way... The big boys annoy the crap out of me!
UPDATE : took it back today no receipt. I paid on credit card and could show them the debit against by card and the date of the purchase and they tracked it back thru their system and did not hesitate to credit me. Lesson learned.... PHOTOGRAPH ALL YOUR RECEIPTS AND KEEP THEM IN A FILE ON YOUR PHONE!!!
A piece of crap – Terrible construction. It is very fiddly to put together, and once done, the construction was so poor that only one bin can be used. The door on the other is completely jammed. Would not buy. Would not recommend Somebody messed up in Aldi,Hoping to find better quality elsewhere,A piece of crap. Show details
Shocking!!!! – Clips broke and so did replacement ones. Then we realised that some of the sides are missformed. Waste of time and $$$$. This is a shonky product. We were hoping to do our small bit for the world by composting but it has backfired as now we have added to landfill. Show details
Piece of rubbish! – Broke 4 ‘P’ clips IN A ROW and then decided to see if anyone else had the same problem! Turns out it’s not just my inability to put this bloody thing together. It’s so poorly designed, apply even the smallest amount of pressure to put the side walls on and the attached clips break. I’ve got lots of broken little bits of plastic all over the… Read more
ground. You need good lighting to be able to match up the holes for the screws.
Only just finished assembly so havnt used it properly yet but I’m not holding my breath that it’s going to be any good
Very Difficult to Put Together Without Breaking the Plastic Parts – Started with the clips and after breaking two realised it was better to have two people doing the job, also helped to use washing up detergent on the clips to help them slide. However for me the worst part was getting the sides and ends to slip in together broke at least four on the first tumbler then once again used detergent on the second but… Read more
still broke two and now they both leak smaller particles when tumbled and the little mites have an entry point. Disappointed with Aldi as this product was not cheap (and nasty) so you would expect much better quality!!
Total disaster – This is a disaster. Clips that are almost impossible to put together. Drum sides do not line up and have broken three clips trying to install. Have resorted to cable ties but still cannot align top parts to sides. I am an Aldi shopper and their products are usually excellent but this effort is a nightmare. Two hours to put one drum together!!!! Show details
The worst – This is the worst product we have ever bought from Ald!!i shoddy mismatched parts the the biggest piece of junk ever Don't buy they give you extra clips because every second one brakes the metal rods that hold the legs together are different lengths , these are just the obvious faults it is also so low to the ground it is impossible to empty in to… Read more

A mechanical engineer could not put this together without experiencing fits of rage – This overly engineered, over complicated, poor quality piece of rubbish is enough to cause rifts in relationships through the construction alone. A member of NASA wouldn’t be able to construct it alone. Recommend a beer before, during and after the construction to stop yourself murdering your companion. Am cracking a beer as we speak, but my… Read more
fingers hurt due to the small plastic joints that require robot like fingers to navigate. 1/10 do not recommend. My dad better get the best compost in Australia or I am burning the product to the ground.
Piece of rubbish – Have never had a problem with the purchase of Aldi products and am a contented regular shopper. However this product is just sub standard. The clips broke when being put on and then the only other one that had been put broke. Badly designed, frustrating, time consuming and as I have arthritis in both hands, guide painful. have lost the receipt, Murphy’s law. Has definitely affected my view of Aldi and the level of trust I have in their products. I will be staying away for a while at least.

Clips break, waste of time – Green Clips provided would break everytime, I started using cable ties instead, then when it came to applying a small amount of pressure to get the side walls together (from instructions),The black tabs would break and pop off, decided to take it back to Aldi and get a refund, will continue to look for a reasonable priced compost bin, just not from Aldi Show details
Clips are the downfall – The panels do line up if all the vents are on the same side. That's frustrating but not the real issue... The poor quality of the clips, which are so thin and cheap, and need to be bent out to fit, but simply break sasoon as they are bent, is below par. I like ALDI products but I can't believe I spent so much money on this Chinese made piece of rubbish. Charge $2 more and make some clips that don't break... then you'd get some positive reviews. Rubbish!! – Difficult to assemble if at all. I gave up after 3 minutes trying to get the tumbler assembly together Clips break if not aligned correctly Even slight pressure on the ends to line up panels caused it to crack Terrible design for assembly Engineer that designed it should be shot Avoid like the plague Show details
Bad design bad construction bad instuctions – It was a pain to put together but maybe this will help: Before assembly: lay part B on the ground, connect part C around it. Make sure all the stickers are facing the same way otherwise it will not line up. Soak clips(part P) in hot water before using. This is the hard part....connect part P one at a time, If you try both at the same time the clip will break. Good luck all, Show details
An absolute piece of rubbish – Spent an hour trying to put together, most of the plastic clips broke so it became useless and I took it back. Absolute insult to customers to sell this junk. I am a loyal Aldi shopper they have wasted nearly three hours of my day . Disgrace disgrace disgrace ! Show details
Not happy Jan – Mis-aligned parts meant i stopped 1/3rd of the way through and the instructions blew away. Tried to have another assembly attempt but ALDI don't give any access to copies on line. VERY POOR service, which i believe is not typical of ALDI's usual fare. I make a point of supporting ALDI against the Duopoly, but this gives me pause. Got this as a gift so no docket. Show details
Product improved – I bought this recently from Aldi in the discounted section, unopened so must have been from a previous catalogue. They must have improved the design from previous reviews as it went together without issues and no broken clips. They even give you 6 spare clips and bolts just in case you break or lose some. I haven’t used it yet but it seems sturdy enough, I will add to the edit if there are issues when it is full. Show details
I am waiting to see how long it takes to compost and I also bought the single composter – I was able to assemble the unit without breaking any of the pieces but I am one who reads every word of instructions so I didn't have a problem. Putting the clips on that hold the pieces together was a little tricky but I figured out how to do it without breaking any of the clips. I'm able to add my yard waste (my mower mulches my grass so I do… Read more
not add grass to the bin) and my produce garbage that I collect in a little ceramic compost collector in my kitchen through the little door on the unit. I turn it every other day per the instructions, and I'm looking forward to getting the finished product. I think the trick is to make the added items as small as one can.
Money Waster – This is the biggest piece of crap, it doesn't go together correctly and the plastic breaks too easily. When bottom bars go on to square the unit up, that is when it really shows it's poor quality it sits like a car with a missing wheel. This product is sold at Aldi usually their products aren't bad, but this one is terrible. Buyer should get… Read more
sacked for this line. I challenge the CEO of Aldi to buy this crap and assemble it, then put this embarrassing thing in their garden. Even the worms would be embarrassed to live here. This is why refund policies are in place by ACCC so when retailers sell this kind of quality or lack there of we get protected.
Very expensive rubbish. Do not buy it! – Bought this a week ago thinking it would be good since most Aldi products seem reliable. Did not have too much trouble assembling until it came to the last screw which goes into the axle to keep the whole thing together. The screw is very small and the axle is too short so it has been impossible for me so far to get this tiny screw into the… Read more
axle as it is impossible to align with the tiny hole in the axle and you are working blind. I regret I have wasted my time putting this together so far. Help Line is continuously engaged so no help there. My doubts started when I began to assemble the drums and the plastic is not at all sturdy and there were no screws to keep the walls of the drum securely fastened before you move on to the next part of the assembly, so they keep falling apart, while you try to proceed with the next step. However, I persevered till almost the end but having read the reviews of other people I have decided it is a very shoddy, poorly produced product and I should not waste my money on it. Tomorrow, when I may be a little over the disappointment and frustration at wasted time, I hope to have the will to disassemble the whole thing , put it back in the box and return it for my money back. Wish I had read the reviews before I purchased it.
I can't even do step one – Um er, I did the align c and the clips that are supposed to keep them together, are too little... I did really really really try to do it, and I didn't lose my block once.. Well I can't write anymore as I didn't get past aligning the panels. Oh I successfully removed it from the box, although I did tear it a bit.. I hope I can take it back un assembled and all the bits are still there.. Show details
Very poor quality – Ive put the compost tumbler together only to watch part G disintegrate which de-stabilises the legs to hold the twin compost bins. The quality of the part (plastic) is just too thin to withstand the forces the tumbler will be subjected to. When making an enquiry on the listed phone number on the accompanying instruction pamphlet I was told the… Read more
number only related to warranties and not replaceable parts which Im led to believe do not exist! Ive done my $100 simply because of the failure of the design concerning the thickness of the plastic membrane of part G.
Assembly issues people are having – Easy enough to assemble IF YOU READ THE INSTRUCTIONS . Sit down with a coffee and read carefully. The main problem seems to be the misalignment of the panels. Its because as I did... I didn't read the instructions carefully and assumed that the panels just fit together. I had to disassemble one drum and snapped the little green panel clip...… Read more
lucky they supplied extras.
Each BLACK panel has vent holes on one side top and bottom, the other side doesn't. So the next panels vent holes align with the blank side of the previous panel.... eventually the green panels line up.
Also when clipping on the Hexagonal side panels DO NOT bang it with your fist as clips can break.... just look on the inside and gently push each edge of the hex side panel into place. This is more difficult with the second hex panel as you cant see inside.... just remove the green sliding door and reach inside and gently push each edge of the hex side panel into place.
when the drum is complete... only then should you thump gently to make sure the clips click in.
The instructions can and should be improved ... EDIT: I see the product is discontinued, I hope these tips will help people who have just purchased this in WA
This is really just about the assembly as we just bought it.... will do a review once we used it a bit.
