Faulty product and no customer service – My Garmin Vivoactive 4 decided to just turn off one day, and will not turn back on even after trying different chargers. This item is less than two years old. I have contacted Garmin multiple times and still yet to resolve the issue or even get a response from the company. Terrible customer service. I would expect a product that costs this much to last longer. Show details
After 18 months of use, it does some things well, others, not so much – If you're like me and just want to get fitter, this is a good start. I didn't realise how far you have to walk to burn off those chocolates you just ate. It has certainly made me eat better and exercise more. Next...it stores a heap of music, which it will play directly to my Bluetooth earbuds. Battery lasts about three days. There are heaps of… Read more
digital "watch faces" you can choose from so you can customise the info you need. I can pay using Garmin Pay on my watch. Handy.
Now for the not-so-good: It is inaccurate. I just mowed our lawn which is quite big. I started with 499 steps and finished with 602. Just over 100 steps. WHAT! For some reason, it doesn't record steps while you're mowing. Heart rate is not accurate, but close. Temp is inaccurate unless you take the watch off and let it reach room temp. Calories can't be changed to Kilojoules, but I suspect calorie usage is close to correct...except for mowing. Price is way too high for what it does. Even switching to manual time adjustment, it ends up 2 or 3 minutes off after a few days. The menus are fiddly and just about everything is difficult to find. You need to consult Youtube to do most things on it.
If you're thinking of buying a smart watch and you aren't fussy, get one of the cheaper Garmins.
amusing, not accurate – I've owned it for a year now so it's time for a review. The heart rate is inaccurate, eg: actual pulse 76, watch says 92. The sleep seems to know when I nod off but can't recognize when I wake up unless I get out of bed. On my stationary rowing machine, the GPS has me rowing out of the house and to my neighbour. I can't recommend this if you are serious about your health stats. I won't buy Garmin again. Show details
Terrible – I bought this after my fitbit vesa died. I've never paid so much for a smart watch so I had high expectations. Firstly I was very disappointed with the full screen, but could I lived with it. But I noticed the battery only lasting for a day.. I went into app and turned a lot of things off to help battery. I only thing I liked about this watch was… Read more
the soft band.. Everything else I could get from my versa 3, with longer battery life.. So I returned it and got a versa3 instead. So much happier with my screen, battery and it has all the same data that the garmin had.. For me fitbits are so much better.
Great watch heap of features – Finally upgraded to a new watch and very impressed with the quality of the Garmin watch and the key features great large display and great battery life don’t have to charge it all the. Time Show details
Fitness tracker / watch – Bought this watch/fitness (white/rose gold) tracker to moniter excersice. Problems: 1/ until you read the book you are unable to tell where to wear the tracker on your wrist. It has to be above wrist bone to access tracker details accurately. 2/ the wrist band is way to small for a large wrist. Cant wear the fitness/watch now. Waste of money. … Read more
Garmin missing out on a market of longer wrist bands for larger people trying to get fit. Just think how many more might be sold if they actually fit the larger person.
Should Have Gotten It Long Before – Received this smartwatch as a gift. Didn't realise I needed it until I got it. Initially, I was overwhelmed with the setup via iPhone but soon you will get the hang of it. Mainly using it for running and hiking. The GPS allows you to record your timing and hiking route. All the data will be uploaded to your smartphone or PC with the app installed. Battery life is around 5 days with everyday use.
