GENTLE DENTAL - I BEG TO DIFFER – 'GENTLE' DENTAL - I BEG TO DIFFER I had an appointment sometime in November to remove a wisdom tooth that was causing me trouble. The dentist wore a turban. He applied lots of pressure to my jaw, and did not give me a lot of breaks to relax my jaw. He managed to remove the wisdom tooth in the end after all the trouble the tooth caused. After the average service I received from the dentist, my mother also went to the same dentist. The dentist requested a referral which we submitted to them. A day before the consultation on a Sunday, they sent a request through to fill out a patient form, which we filled out. The day of the consultation, the dentist looked at the teeth and applied pressure/scraped the teeth with one of his instruments which caused unnecessary pain to my mother. He said he would have to clean her teeth first, even though he had not cleaned mine. He also did not want to offer an OPG scan for her, he just wanted to do a basic xray. After the OPG scan was done, because we had requested it, then we were told by the dentist soon after that he could not do the procedure because of all the health conditions she had and that he would refer her to someone who was a doctor, a specialist in his field. Then I ask myself isn't the dentist a doctor? Even though we had filled out the patient medical form that listed the health conditions she suffers from. Gentle Dental knew weeks beforehand that my mother had those health conditons, my mother was with me in the dentist room, when my wisdom tooth was removed and he could see that she had a disability. They would have been able to notify us beforehand if they were unable to do the procedure in the first place, thereby not wasting our time, all they wanted was to make money, by charging us the consultation fee. When the lengthy discussion ended, we left the dentist. We would not recommend anyone going to this dentist, unless you would absolutely have to. There are other dentists out there who would do the same procedure for less money and hopefully without the excuses the doctor with the turban had. Also he clearly wore a t-shirt that stated he is a doctor and on the gentle dental website it states he is a doctor.
