Disappointing – It is nothing but a glorified frying pan, the meat does not have the BBQ flavour. The stand is dangerous it is unstable. If you like your meat to have the traditional BBQ taste this product is not for you. Wish I had known this before wasting my money purchasing one. Going out and purchasing a gas one tomorrow. Great little bbq, slow cooker – Great little bbq. Cooked a leg of lamb last night. So long as it lasts it is ideal. Show details
Economical, easy & effective – After a run of bad luck with other barbecues being unavailable or dismal failures, I came across the George Foreman BBQ Grill quite accidentally. They say everything happens for a reason and I think I came out of this with a cheaper, easier and more effective BBQ than those I missed out on. It seems like a good option for us as a family of three… Read more
running solar power. Advertisements say it can do 13 serves but I'm not so sure; perhaps 13 sausages, but for my little family it is more than enough. And if we use it during daylight it has no associated running costs as we have solar power, and there's never the risk of running out of gas, so really it is just the one-off purchase price and that's all. Be aware that, being electric, it will need access to a power point.
The grill was easy to assemble and is stable when standing. Make sure you click the feet in securely and flip up the silver clip to keep the grill on the pole (and flip it down if you wish to take the grill off for indoor use). Tonight our test run was just sausages. They cooked quickly and the heat distribution was even. The instruction booklet includes recommended temperatures (easily controlled by turning the knob) and cooking times. Tomorrow we'll try chops and sliced potatoes. There should be enough room for three serves of this, but we were just discussing that this is such a simple and economic option that I'd be happy to buy a second one and keep them side-by-side so we can feed larger groups.
I can see this becoming our go-to cooking method, even in winter. It is splash-proof but should be sheltered from rain and can come inside on those occasions. The booklet includes times and temperatures for roasts, increasing its year-round usefulness.
Wish it was more durable – We are on our second one of these. The stand was wobbly on both, we never used them, same with the poorly fitting lid covers. We only use the grill plate on highest heat setting for steaks and it does a fantastic job. I love that it is safe and convenient with a large size plate that fits under the range hood. Our biggest gripe is that after a… Read more
short time it’s horrible to clean. We marinade steaks in worcestershire & wine, drain off and add salt + pepper. It always burns onto the grill. Chicken is just as bad or worse. We try to immediately add water and scrub to loosen, then wash it as soon as it’s cooled. I have to soak it and pick and scratch off bits with my nails for ages. Everyone else refuses to clean it. We’ve tried all kinds of non scratch cleaners. The burn patches eventually take off the non stick coating in spots. I HATE the non stick coating! We only use nylon tongs but it wears down just by cooking use. The first one lasted around 18months used much less than weekly. The reason we bought another one is because it was the best thing like this available. If I could clean it easier and it was durable it would be awesome. I’d pay more for that, and heat distribution could be better but it’s not bad for cheap. Next time we will invest in something with cast iron just because of the cleaning factor.
A great little indoor BBQ! – We had a coal BBQ earlier for a while however, while it was performing well and cooked our sausages, meat, and veggies to perfection, it was too much overhead to go through the cleaning chores every time after each BBQ. We were looking to get something that’s easier to clean and cooks as well as coal (I know the smokiness is amiss however that’s… Read more
the trade off)
Came across this decently priced BBQ by The Good Guys and used our concierge voucher to reduce the price to sub $70 and that’s a good deal for a free standing yet portable BBQ. Most of all we can now do both indoor and outdoors anytime without risk of fire. Highly recommended.
it works well – I was offered a George foreman bbq for only $89 but delivery pushed it up to $118.which is only $20 under retail but it works well and I use it round the pool bar with every visitor Show details
A heap of rubbish – I bought this BBQ for convenience whilst I would be travelling from house to house and working away from home. It has been a dismal failure. It doesn't heat up hot enough to cook a sausage and barely an egg. Just when you think it is going to perform when the thermostat light comes on, it clicks off again after a few seconds. Save your money. I plan on buying an alternate brand. All I can say is your have been warned.
Great For Vegetables – I feel with meat & poultry it doesn’t char the way a bbq does. However the grill is fantastic for vegetables and cooks then very fast. Is it a bbq? I wouldn’t say it is, it’s just glorified large grill. I use it indoors and the legs just take up far too much room on my balcony. They’re bigger than the grill itself and bulky. Show details
Bought thegoodguys ebay store $79 – I am very happy with this product. Bought thegoodguys ebay store $79. Compact Little Beauty – Grills 2 porter house steaks nicely, cooks very quickly, was surprised the steak did not dry out. My hubby reheated pizza, it came out hot and crispy, much better than microwaving it to rubber. Thinking of getting another one for the RV as it is so compact with a drip tray which is dish washable. Bought it half price at HN online sale. Show details
Healthy bbq cooking made easy – We bought these for a work promotion and took one home ourselves. It's really easy to use. Simply plug it in, turn on the grill, wait a bit for it to heat up and throw your food on. It's easy to clean too - you can take apart the actual grill and wash it under hot soapy water and the rest of the grill is easily wiped with a cloth. It comes… Read more
with a stand - we haven't actually used that yet, we have been using it on the bench.
The downside? It's limited to where you have a powerpoint. So if you thought this would be a good product to take on a picnic, think again.
Very Handy – I purchased this instead of going to the expense of a bulkier & more expensive BBQ. It has been very handy & it helps that it is portable, so I can choose to cook outside, using the stand, or by just placing it straight onto my kitchen bench top. It's just a little annoying when it comes time to cleaning it, but there's really no way around that,… Read more
it would be the same with any other product. Overall, it's been a good purchase & nice to be able to cook and get that chargrilled flavour, on a portable, more compact device.
Good But A Flimsy – I bought this because if the good George Foreman name but when I was putting it together, I could tell it was cheaply made. It's OK, it does a good job of cooking a steak and it suits me as I only have a small balcony and I don't use it that much but I wouldn't buy the same one again. It's starting to look like its had a lot of wear after it was… Read more
only a year old as the paint changed colour. Works but not the best ever. I ended up replacing it with a Weber and never looked back

Really horrible, waste of money – One of the single worst purchases I have made. Was missing a part when we first purchased, then the replacement bbq when I was using it for the first time the handle broke and I burned myself. Went straight into the garbage bin. Had intended to be used on an apartment balcony Show details
Cooks steaks reliably and quickly – I have used this grill now to cook about 9 or 10 steaks and each time the result has been great and easily achievable. There is only one setting to adjust on the grill - a dial that switches it from off to on and then adjusts the cooking temperature from 0 to 5. The grill heats up within a matter of minues and cools down almost as quickly. I… Read more
consider myself below a beginner level when it comes to cooking but so far I haven't had an issue with this and haven't managed to burn myself or ruin anything.
Missing part – Bought the George Foreman indoor outdoor grill for a gift, assembly is fairly easy, it is well constructed, set it up but it was missing a part to attach to base to the main unit, we used it on a table, it does cook well, easy to clean, fast even cooking but never received the missing part. Great BBQ for small balconies – Bought it as an offer on Ebay from good guys. Wanted to buy a BBQ for quite some time and this was a very good deal and value for money. Its quite easy to set up and use. Storage is quite easy as it is compact. Overall a good bbq for a small family February 6th 2018 Update: Great BBQ for small balconies in apartments Easy to assemble and… Read more
easy to use/clean. Since the time we have bought this bbq its become a weekend routine to bbq. I have made chicken, fish, lamb, prawns and everything is made really good. Its compact that it is stored in our balcony and looks good. Its very easy to clean, just remove the top part and wash it.
Great outdoor small electric bbq – Got this (suggested) birthday present to replace an ageing Sunbeam electric barby. First thing I did was throw away the stand as I wanted to put it on an outdoor table. It has been a very useful cooker for me as my wife is a vego and hates the smell of meat cooking, so outside I go. What I like is the cover. On the sunbeam the cover was just a… Read more
splatter shield. On the JF it is a heat container that really contains the heat to help cook my steaks. It is a high cover so you could cook a chicken I guess. I rarely use any heat setting below full, but full is quite hot and cooks everything I have thrown at it. I use it outside and it gets a bit wet now and then as I sometimes forget to put the cover on, and 4 months on, no rust yet. I have cut the cover as I don't use the legs. It is easy to keep clean as long as you do it straight after cooking while the plate is still hot. I wipe it with paper towels which works well. The fat collector works ok but I had to put a couple of 5ml chocks on the back legs to get a bit of angle for the fat to move off to the front collector groove. Not a problem really. Has a long electric chord. This is not a family barbeque as it is to small for that. Good for two or maybe three people. Happy with this appliance.
