Food was pretty bad to be totally honest. The prawns and muscles pasta was yellow glob, flavour was poor, fish and chips were average, chips so overcooked you couldn’t put your fork in them, hard to eat. It was a shame because it’s a nice spot and the staff were nice. Show details
We were travelling north to see family when we called into the Georgia Rose for a drink - the venue had a great ambience with wonderful views. epitomises the old cliche "service with a smile". Having worked in hospitality myself for more than 30 years, I found he was was prepared to go that extra mile to ensure that we had a favourible experience. Would highly recommend the Georgia Rose if all of their staff have the same attitude as this young fellow.
Had a beautiful lunch with my friend. We enjoyed the food and gorgeous harbour view. We were grateful for Maximus, he was so pleasant, kind and helpful. I just wanted to give him some respectful recognition. Show details
Won't be going back. Ripped off. Ordered BBQ beef ribs with other veggies. What arrived was NOT beef ribs but a lump of overcooked tasteless beef brisket on a plate with sloppy veggies. When we complained, waitress said with a straight face "bones had fallen out." $46 for one of the worst meals I've had! Show details
Hard boiled poached eggs – I waited for more than 20 minutes for my breakfast which was choice of eggs plus extras being mushrooms, salmon and Hollandaise sauce. My poached eggs were like hard boiled eggs. I took them back. They were replaced on the same plate so the toast was soggy and the sides were cold.
The worst meals – I have been twice to George Rose to participate in a single seniors meeting, which is set up by Frazer Building. out of the jar or bottle. Last week I ordered pulled pork tacos. It was served with once piece of meat, not sure if it was pork. In one taco was coleslaw, which tasted bitter und the other had avocado mash. It was terrible!! My neighbour ordered something, which looked like vomit with pita bread, another just a plate of chips, which were dark brown, probably fried in old oil. It is such a prime location, a pity that the food is so terrible. What a waste of money.

Nice views but terrible meal – Returned to give this restaurant another chance, basically paid $24 for a bowl of spinach leaves, very small amount of dried chicken, beetroot, tiny amount of tomato. Very slow service. Nice staff when we saw them. Show details

Apparently you can only book a table for 4 or more people or for functions. BUT, for Valentines day you could book a table for 2, IF you pay a $100 deposit for a set menu. Otherwise you take a chance of not having a table when you go for Valentines. It also stated that you can change your mind and have the a' la cart menu when your there and they will refund your $100.
Entrée was nice, however it was just a garlic bread and came out quick. PROBLEM 2. I got a glass of wine that cost me $12 and my wife a cocktail that I think cost $19. There was only about two mouthful's of wine in my glass it was a disgrace. Problem 3. My wife and I also noticed how often staff were walking around with meals in their hands not knowing what table they are going too. My wife ordered the Lamb Ragu and I ordered the Pork Steaks. My wife's meal came out without mine so I told her to start eating so it doesn't get cold and that mine will be out in a minute or so. WELL, ten minutes pass and I call a waitress over to see where my meal is and she goes off to find out. About another 5 minutes pass and she comes back and states they are plating it up now. By this time my wife is almost finished her meal. About another 10 minutes later STILL NO MEAL.
I call the waitress over and once again asked where my meal was as my wife has now finished hers. Off the waitress goes again and several minutes later we notice a waitress once again walking around with a meal looking for a table. She comes to our table and asks if we order the fish steaks. I promptly said, "NO", the Pork Steaks. She then told me I could eat the fish steaks or I would have TO WAIT for Pork Steaks AFTER waiting over about half an hour for my meal in the first place. My wife and I got a refund for my meal and left. Before leaving, the table behind us asked us what happened so I told them. They then tell us the same thing happened to them just now. The wife had finished her meal and the husbands had just come out.
BUT IT GETS BETTER. Problem 4. I ask for a refund of the $100 and told by the manager its on a different system and she will arrange it first thing in the morning to be refunded and she will let me know after she has done it. Well it never came and took me messaging them through Facebook to work out what was going on with the $100. BUT, still nothing from them so I went there to speak to a manager in person. I told the manager if a owner or someone in charge does not contact me straight away I will be contacting DFT or the Ombudsman and they can deal with them. ONLY then do I NOT GET A PHONE CALL but a message saying the $100 goes through a third party and can take up to 10 business days to be paid back and its out of their hands. HOW ABOUT THIS HIGHER MANAGEMENT, its your business so get another third party that does better by the customer. DISGUSTING.
