  130.2S

Gerni support – Purchased Gerni 135.2 a few year ago from Bunnings. In the last 2 years have had to replace the G4 handle twice since Oct 2018. Unable to provide purchase details for Bunnings who I am sure would replace it. Two weeks and not even the courtesy of a reply from Gerni customer service. Show details

  130.2S

Could be excellent, but not quite – Previously had a Bosch AquaTac cleaner - first was swapped under warranty when most of the included nozzles failed and the next burst its pump casing at the low pressure side ... ! So after much research (esp. here and after seeing someone else go through 6 'plastic' Karchers cleaning a pool) decided to try Gerni. The 130.2S offered the power… Read more

required for mould on paths and verandas, and was relatively cheap, yet had a 5 year warranty - thus hopefully avoiding my Bosch problems.

After weathering for a couple of years, the paths, courtyards and verandas were a serious test for the Gerni, but it was a pleasure to use and came through with hardly a problem. The included nozzles are very effective on pavers, tiles and concrete. I have since bought the car cleaning nozzle. Compared to the Bosch, swapping nozzles is a breeze, they all still work after several hours of use, it doesn't stop in hot weather and it hasn't blown a pump casing. Although heavy, I suspect this is because it has, as its 5 year warranty suggests, robust metal internals.

The only complaint is after the first outing, along an obstacle-free terracotta tiled veranda, I noticed the outer rubber of high pressure hose was suffering a lot of scuffs, some deep enough to show the layers below. I emailed my concerns and photos to Gerni Australia who suggested I buy the expensive heavy duty professional hose! Since I'm using it as intended, infrequently around the home, and not carelessly tugging the hose around sharp corners, I'm not sure how anyone could avoid scuffing the hose - it's far too soft. Even the old Bosch hose that I happened to keep (doesn't fit) looked new compared to the Gerni's after just one use.

Although a little anxious about wearing a hole through the high pressure hose, and it not being covered by the warranty (I'm contemplating fitting some hose risers at intervals along its length), overall I'm happy with the 130.2S - good bang per buck with a decent warranty. Just a pity about the hose.
