Beware the cheapies – I don't know this for a fact about Gerni but I do in regards to other brands, Makita for example. If you get yours from bunnings it will be the dumbed down cheaper version. I've had 4 gernis from bunnings all have failed within warranty time and on returning them to bunnings they have always said to just grab another one, sign the docket and away… Read more

you go with your new one. They have never questioned why I brought them back, although I have had proof of the fault on my phone camera. I bought a makita compound, sliding mitre saw from bunnings for about 460 bucks. It does what I need at home, I'm no cabinet maker! But if you go into a proper tool shop the same style of makita saw is in the 1500 buck category and the difference in quality is immediately apparent. Very often you hear bunnings say in their advertising that if you can find the same product at a better price they will beat it by 10%. The issue is that the products are made specifically for bunnings so you won't find it anywhere else! So check and see if the same applies to gerni. It'll cost more but will be the built to last model.

The quality that Gerni's reputation was built on is gone – My Grandfather recommended to my father to only buy a Gerni and my father said exactly the same to thing me when it came to which pressure cleaner to purchase and rely on. Unfortunately I will be not be telling my son to buy a Gerni as the quality of the gear they sell now is complete rubbish. I've had nothing but problems with this unit and now… Read more

that it is out of warranty of course the problems are just getting worse. May as well have purchased a cheap as chips Chinese no name brand for all the problems I've had, actually I could have bought 4 or 5 for what I paid for this heap of junk. I'll be trying a Karcher next after I pity the poor sod that takes this crap home when I put it out for the council pickup.

BUYER BEWARE - DISGRACEFUL PRODUCT AND SERVICE – My pensioner father purchased this Gerni from Bunnings which included an accessory pack - all covered under a 5 year warranty. Naturally, it broke (fell to pieces - disintegrated) just outside of the 5 year warranty and Gerni are refusing to return my correspondence with regards to a remedy, in turn, ignoring their legal responsibility under the… Read more

Australian Consumer Law. I have contacted them and wow - the customer service is utterly deplorable. Customer service representative was disrespectful. Have never experienced this service before, and I work in a government agency that investigates dodgy traders. Even Bunnings said they were a nightmare to deal with and had received many complaints regarding the same product. This item has a common fault and does not meet the consumer guarantee. Cannot stress this enough - BUYER BEWARE!

Bad model for this brand – I bought this unit from Bunnings 3-4 years ago. May I took it repair 5-6 times and every time. Take 3-4 weeks to fix through Bunnings. Plus nozzle trigger problem. It is been replaced several times. And lately the braided hose blows up and it is out of warranty through gerni contact.  Show details

Handles and o rings OMG! – Bought the unit from Bunnings some 3-4 years ago, great pressure and pump works well but the constant replacement of The small hose O ring and 2 complete gun sets later I am over it to say the least, I now have 5 o ring replacement packs with only the small green hose connector replacements used out of them. Why do I have to by the entire kit… Read more

every time I want to replace one o ring? Will definitely be looking at another brand next time, very frustrating with no support from Gerni to boot

Gone through 3 trigger guns in 2 years!!! – Absolutely disgraceful....if Gerni are reading please tell me why your motto is "Why compromise" you should be ashamed of the complete rubbish your selling... I have had a 2 replacements guns for my 145.2 and both failed (same old story...water gushing out of gun)... to get my last from Gerni replacement I was made to sign a stat dec!!!... Gerni will replace the gun to a G5 for units under 2 years old – I agree with the pump being great. The gun is a real issue and a common problem. Don't waste your time with the retailer and contact Gerni / Nilfisk support directly. They will ask for a copy of your receipt and serial number. As long as your unit is under 2 years old, They will send you a G5 gun if you ask for it. This is how I got mine. Quick and easy and done in under a week.  Show details

Same problem – I also have had water running out of handle. I have replaced o-rings with no change. It seems like a major design fault and with a new upgraded replacement gun now available at a cost, I would have thought they are admitting it. They really should be exchanging at no cost!

water leaking from handle – I bought the Gerni 145.2 to handle a drain blockage which it sorted the problem with ease but at the start of cleaning the gutters of my house some weeks later ready for painting it gushed water from the handle I had no problems when I returned the unit to Bunnings and thinking I would get a new part they gave me a new boxed gerni very happy

Good Unit With A Major Design Weakness – The Gerni 145.2 is a very good unit for washing a large mod wood deck and motor vehicles. While it has been used carefully, I have had two pressure gun handles break after relatively short hours. Attempts to repair the handle have been unsuccessful. Note that I am an experienced mechanical engineer and find the plastic components in the gun handle… Read more

to be inferior for high pressure application and unsuitable for maintenance. After sales service by Bunnings and Gerni is wanting. Their solution is to replace the handle unit at full replacement price to me and no compensation for the inconvenience caused by the down time. I reported this issue directly to Gerni on the first occasion and received no reply. When will Gerni wake up and improve what could be an excellent product?

Pump is good. Handle crap! – Like everyone else I had the same issue with the handle. Cracked plastic internals, blown O-rings. Bought a new gun same thing occurred. E-mailed Nilfisk about it and was told they knew of the problem and replaced with a supposedly fixed trigger gun, so far has not failed (UPDATE replacement gun also failed 12/16). While trying to find a fix or a… Read more

different handle I found out that there is an upgrade handle with metal internals. This is the reply from Halls Industries "The larger, more durable G5 Trigger will suit the 145.2 gerni. It contains more brass components internally."

20/1/16 As of today the G5 gun has worked without fail Gerni/Nilfisk should have supplied as OE.

Great machine accept for the gun!! – Only five weeks old and the gun started leaking water and lost pressure. The rest of the machine is superb but let down by this rubbish gun. Bunnings have ordered a replacement gun for me but if the same thing happens again I will be returning the whole unit and look to another brand.

poor product – Lasted exactly 2years. That happens to be the length of the warranty. Parts are exorbitantly priced compared to their competitors (I am qualified to fix it). My neighbour bought a no name petrol machine off ebay 5 years ago, did twice as much work with his, its still going. I used mine a total of about 3hrs. Hose reel flimsy and has required… Read more

rebuilding twice.

Handle mechanism way too much effort required to operate. An absolute ergonomic nightmare. The rubber coating on the handle started disintegrating soon before wtee end and was told that having your hand stuck to disintegrating rubber was not covered under the warranty. I guess it's some sort of non-slip "feature" designed to reward anyone whose machine outlasts the warranty.

Marketing hype over pump material would be better with a proper warranty.

Another example of a european company shifting manufacture east, and way, way down

Profit from my and others' here lesson and choose a non-green brand.

Crap handles – We thought we were doing the right thing buying an expensive get I that we thought we last for years. We have had to replace the handle once in 1 year and now the handle is broken again! Will not be replacing the handle but will be checking peoples reviews for an alternate product! Don't buy!!! N

Tough pump. Weak trigger – I use mine on a professional level. As a lot of the other folks have said, this is a good tough pump, with an incredibly fragile trigger/handle unit. The trigger has let me down 4-5 times. I've unscrewed it, to make repairs, so many times some of the screws wont go back in. But with this in mind why don't Bunnings have a big pile of trigger… Read more ·  1

units on the shelves ready for a quick swap over??? I'm happy to pay - double!!! Instead I have to tell my client the job is on hold half through until this stupid part can be ordered. And I end up looking like a CHUMP.

Excuse me. I have to phone a client then go place my order at Bunnings.

Gerni pressure washer – Back at the end of January I wrote a review about my Gerni pressure washer saying how the hand piece leaked badly so I took it back to Bunnings who were terrific and organised a replacement.I also stated that I thought the machine was a good product but the hand piece let it down.Sadly I`ve had to return the machine to Bunnings because the new… Read more

hand piece worked for about an hour before the same thing happened again. I note that several people have had the same problem.Surely the manufacturer must know about this by now and do something about it. I`m now doing research to find a new reliable pressure washer because some of the other common brand units are problematical as well. The unit I returned cost me $735 so maybe I`ll have to pay a bit more. Hope this is helpful.

great unit-rubish trigger handle!!!!! – You have to be kidding me the unit pressure and hose reel and length are perfect for me and my usage but a big but the handle is just rubbish for the cost of the unit somebody at Gerni should be held accountable I only use mine to clean the car and boat and sometimes give the deck a clean and I have just gone through my second handle since… Read more

November 2014 and it's only April what a joke and what's worse is that they don't even offer an alternative from the plastic crap!!! Not only do they sell a faulty product to have no option but to get it replaced with the same crap is a joke!!! No more Germi nextime!!!!!!

Great pressure washer.. gets the job done – A great pressure washer, cleans concrete up like new and gets windows cleaner than ever. One issue is the rubber o-ring seals in the hand gun unit, these perish and get blown out the gun over time, first sign is water leaking from the hand gun and loss of pressure. The genuine Gerni o- ring kit gives you term various sized rings and costs around… Read more

$25 which is outrageous considering a 100 piece kit from the plumbing section at Bunnings costs $2.75!! taking apart the gun is easier than easy as is replacing the o-ring.

Gerni pumps are made from metal not plastic and really last the distance just have to watch for those pesky o-rings.

Dissapointed with Hand Guns – Bought 2 to trial for work. Worked well so purchased another 2.Then the guns started failing. Even though they are not heavily used,I have just purchased my 5th replacement gun and about 6 replacement washers. Very disappointed especially when they fail when your out on a job.

Leaking Gun – Bought my Gerni after using a friends (145.2) we had to replace his gun because it was leaking i guessed it was some kind of user problem dropping the gun or something like that however i have just had exactly the same issue stripped the gun down and found the tube cracked and the o rings failed at around twelve months old with limited use it… Read more

is disappointing to have to spend $60 on a new gun but rather that than go through the warranty process

both units had exactly the same failure i think this is a product design problem

Gerni Super 145.2 - leaking hand gun – Bought a (metal pump)Gerni Super 145.2 after having 2 (plastic pump) Karcher's pack up. After two weeks the hand gun started leaking and the output pressure was halved. Exactly the same problem described by the mechanical engineer., Took it back to Bunnings who graciously replaced it. After two days the replacement gun did exactly the same. Taking it back tomorrow.  Show reply

Beware of plastic internal handgun parts – I use this machine a maximum of 1-2 times per month just to wash the car and boat. After 8-9 months I really noticed the hand trigger leaking heavily. I took it apart and discovered all the fittings in the trigger set were plastic and had distorted from the pressure. the only piece of metal in there was a spring. As a mechanical engineer I can… Read more

confidently say that the practice of producing PLASTIC high pressure/repeated impact parts (water hammer through on/off action) is poor design or a non-sensible fiscal decision. These parts should be brass with machined seats, instead these parts are low durability plastic. This equipment is not to be relied upon and has a higher degree of failure than brass parts. all the accessories and interchangeability that was advertised. Gun/trigger not made from quality materials.

Should have let my husband buy this sooner – The price was a bit off putting at around $500 for this Gerni but it is a pretty good unit. We use it to clean the pavers in the backyard, to blast weeds from the driveway and with an additional $20 attachment it is safe to use to clean the car. I was impressed at how bright the pavers were. I had no idea they were so light in colour. My dogs… Read more

also love to get dirty and scratch themselves on our beautiful rendered cream walls which were black in some areas because of it and the Gerni just blasts it all clean without damaging the walls.

The car attachment is my favourite because DH now thinks cleaning my car and his is now a pleasure. win-win. It takes about 3 minutes to blast the dirt off the car with soap and about the same amount of time to blast all the soap off with water. Powerful unit which is water efficient
