Giant OCR 3

Time will tell - time has told - excellent bike – First ride ( 20km ) produced a few squeaks and rattles and could not change into a couple of gears. I should imagine all will be taken care of during first service. Have applied lubricant for next outing. The comfort, brakes and response all excellent. Six months later.. couldn't be more impressed, bike does all I expected. Don't need to change gears a lot ( except severe head wind and hills ). I am 186cm and 93kg - handles me with ease! Fast forward to Jan 2017- Still riding with ease, have easily fitted a child seat on the back. Probably doesn't look cool but neither does lycra on over enhanced figures. Fast forward to Nov 2022 - frame, gears and everything still working great Has been a great purchase and highly recommend.

Giant OCR 3 - 2001 – Just bought a hardly ridden 2001 Ocr3 for a good reasonable price, brand new basically. Fitted myself up in it and took it out for a quickish 120k ride, some flats, some hills (some at 18%), some patchy sealed roads, some nice and smooth. Went well enough over all. The frame is the thing with this. Fairly light and stiff with a good positive feel , Holds its line well at downhill speeds, and for flat work, it cuts the wind well for a nicer cadence, The Sora didn't shift nice under a hard hilly load and also a busting sprint speed, though for a more recreational paced ride, they'll do fine. I suppose just keep your cabling well and your indexing travelling right and you'll find your gearing well enough. I found the triple chain rings funny at first, but got to know it better and appreciated the extra options. Mine's a 56 cm frame and fits me well, so I wasn't tired or strained from holding any bad posture. I've ridden quicker, but this for the price and the engineering, I'd be happy to commute daily and still enjoy a quicker recreational ride with this. Think Road/Tourer rather than Road/Race and work within it.
I should mention, the stock seat, the Selle wasn't working for me. The Specialized saddle was quickly bolted on and away we go! Light enough Fast Enough with a gear for any occasion Sora doesn' like to shift clean under a harder loaded cadence
Great cheap cycling – Second hand bikes aren't worth much but this one gives you bang for your buck!A very comfortable ride whether you're hopping on for an hour or hooking in up Mt. Buffalo. Strong enough to take a Big Fella with ease yet relatively light. Good range of gears and fairly hardy componentry mean that if you pick up one of these from someone who thought they were going to buy a bike and get fit, then put it in the shed and stayed fat, you'll be getting a great machine at a really cheap price. Inexpensive, reliable, light, sturdy As far as I can see, not much

All rattles and squeaks taken care of during first service. l have intermediate tyres fitted which means you don't go as fast but also don't get punctures like the narrower tyres. Baby seat swapped for a rack and bike still going beautifully.
