Not worth it – Very overpriced thermometer and I don’t believe the temperature is accurate (three other thermometers show a different temperature). I ended up purchasing a heatermate which seems to be much more accurate and reliable. My son has been sleeping so much better after purchasing the heatermate. Show details

Amazing product – This product has been amazing. Knowing what to dress the babies in being able to know that the temperature is stable all night. Not having to worry if their too cold or too hot. 100% amazing Show reply
The use case for this product is exceptionally limited – Note, below: this unit was supplied free of charge as part of the Ambassador Program for objective review. Introduction: Based on my experience with environmental monitoring devices, I must conclude right at the start that this baby sleep sensor is overpriced and fails to meet expectations compared to its rivals. With no Bluetooth/Wi-Fi… Read more
connectivity to a phone app, no logging feature, and no HomeKit integration, it falls short in terms of core functionality. For its price range, there are better alternatives available, such as the $34 (delivered) Govee Temperature and Humidity sensor. Let's delve deeper into the reasons behind this verdict.
Limited Target Market: The only market segment where price might not be an issue includes new parents seeking reassurance about their baby's sleep environment and grandparents or caretakers who are averse to using smartphones or tablets for monitoring temperature, humidity, and alerts. However, considering the availability of cheaper rivals that not only can monitor and alert but also log data (and seamlessly integrate with phones), this product's target market becomes extremely narrow.
Redundant Features: While the color-changing screen for temperature ranges may seem appealing, it becomes redundant if you have adequately prepared your child's sleeping environment. If you have climate control or a heater, it could be useful if this were to fail or a heater to be too high. So sure, this visual aid could be useful for grandparents, but most smart cameras used by parents who can afford a $140 temperature monitor already monitor temperature and humidity. Cheaper alternatives can also send alerts for the same issues.
Immediate Deal Breaker: One of the most immediate issues with this product is the unnecessary and irritating beeping it emits when the screen is touched. Unfortunately, this cannot be disabled. For many, this alone might be a deal breaker, especially if it risks disturbing a pregnant sleeping partner. Such a flaw shows a lack of consideration for the user experience.
Lack of Connectivity and Logging: This product does offer the ability to accept multiple sensors, but the limit of three pales in comparison to its competitor, the Govee, which consolidates multiple devices onto one dashboard in its phone app. Furthermore, the absence of phone connectivity and logging capabilities is a significant drawback. In this day and age, where everyone has a smartphone, relying on a separate screen device seems redundant and inconvenient. I'm not entirely sure of the method of communication between the sensors and the main unit (radio, bluetooth?), but this should be taken into consideration for any user. I'm sure it would lose connectivity over greater distances or through thicker walls or concrete. If so, a wifi solution would be a must.
Budget-Friendly Alternatives: Considering the price of $110-140, it's challenging to see how this product can compete with the more affordable options on the market. A Govee temperature humidity monitor, available for $34, offers a cost-effective solution. Even if that seems high, there is a cheaper model without Wi-Fi for $21. Additionally, Govee offers a $24 model with a 3.0-inch screen for those who prefer a visual display alongside temperature and humidity alarms.
Missing Features for a Premium Product: For a $140 product, one would expect seamless HomeKit integration, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity for easy access via a phone app, logging capabilities for historical data analysis, and the availability of cheap add-on sensors to expand the monitoring capabilities. Unfortunately, this baby sleep sensor falls short on all these fronts.
Conclusion: In conclusion, the baby sleep sensor reviewed here proves to be a disappointment, both in terms of price and functionality. Its core features of temperature and humidity monitoring are overshadowed by its lack of connectivity, logging, and integration with smartphones. When there are more affordable alternatives that offer comprehensive solutions, it becomes challenging to justify the hefty price tag of this product. Potential buyers should consider exploring other options, such as the Govee range, which provide better value for their money.

Remote temperature and humidity sensor with some gimmicks – Setup: The Glow Dreaming Sleep Sensor comes in nice packaging, however, doesn't come with batteries. For a RRP of $139.95 I would expect batteries to be included. The unit was easy to set up and fairly logical to use. I did read the instructions but it is unnecessary as the unit is simple to use. The unit comes with one sensor which connects… Read more
without any fuss. You can purchase additional sensors for multiple rooms, although I only used it with the one sensor.
Main unit: The main unit has a big screen with easy to read lettering. The unit displays the temperature and humidity of the unit and the sensor. From my testing both the unit and remote sensor had accurate temperature and humidity readings. I tested this by having them side by side and comparing them to another thermometer and hygrometer I own.
Backlight: The backlight of the main unit changes colour from blue to green to red based on temperature. Less than <18 it is blue (too cold), 18 to 22 it is green (optimal) and >22 it is red (too hot). In theory this is great, however, in practice the temperature of our baby's room does not oscillate so wildly so it mostly stays the one colour. Some nights this winter the temperature was hovering around 17-18 degrees so the backlight was changing from time to time, I still looked at the actual temperature displayed. Nevertheless, still a nifty feature. It is worth noting that the backlight can be dimmed and turned off so it doesn't bother you during the night (but can't be turned back on without loud beeping!)
Loud beeping: The main unit has a few capacitive buttons which emit a very loud beep, and there was no way to turn the volume off. I'm not sure why the beep is necessary, let alone such a loud one. Because the buttons are capacitive it's fairly easy to accidentally press one, so I didn't dare touch the unit when there was a sleeping baby in the adjacent room, lest I wake the baby! I wouldn't want to manually cycle through multiple sensors in the middle of the night. Luckily it can cycle through multiple sensors for you.
TOG suggestion: The main unit also tells you what TOG you should wrap your baby up for the night. This is great in theory however there are a number of flaws with this. What TOG you put the baby can be influenced by what layer(s) you put on them underneath the sleeping bag. If you have a thin layer you might need to put them into a 3.5 TOG (at 17-18 degrees) or if you have a thicker layer 2.5 TOG (as the unit suggests) could be fine. I still had to consult the TOG charts to see what layers were appropriate.
The other issue I have with the suggested TOG is that that recommendation is made based on the temperature at the beginning of the night. This is not an issue if you have stable heating in the baby's room. However, if the temperature dips in the early morning the suggested TOG might not be enough. This happened to me! What would be useful to know is what the lowest/highest temperature was in the last 12 or 24 hours. That way you could also take into consideration what the extremes are overnight. A glaring oversight that some other (cheaper) thermometer/hygrometer units offer.
The remote sensor: The sensor itself is small and can easily topple over on a table. Although it is worth noting that it does have a little divot to hang it up on a hook on the wall. The red light on the sensor blinks from time to time, which is great to know it's working, but the light is quite bright and I would be careful where it is positioned in the baby's room.
Conclusion: It works well as a remote thermometer/hygrometer. The issue I have with this unit is that it's RRP is $139.95 as at 1 July 2023. The TOG 'feature' and changing backlight are gimmicky and ultimately unnecessary. Reading a TOG chart is simple and would give better results. Having a function to record the high/low temperature overnight would be a lot more useful. Having the remote sensor is also a bit gimmicky because if the baby is comfortable and sleeping, so are you - no need to check the temperature or change anything. If the baby is uncomfortable they're going to wake you up and you're going to have to go into their room, remote sensor or not.

Handy addition in baby's room, perfect for Grandparents too – The Glow Dreaming Sleep Sensor is a really handy device to help create the ideal sleeping environment for baby's room. Our grandson sleeps with clothing and a sleeping bag according to the TOG number system. No blankets, because we all think this is a good method for the first years (personal preference of course, it would be just as useful in… Read more · 1
the room with the use of blankets). So, the Glow Dreaming Sleep Sensor has therefore really come in handy to help decide what TOG level he needs to be in for a perfect sleeping temperature. He sleeps at our house regularly and the rooms at our house are more cold than at his home. As a grandmother, this has given me a lot of satisfaction knowing I'm putting him in the right number of layers and sleeping bag thickness for bed time, whether it's day or night. The TOG rating number is on all of his sleeping bags, so the system works well for us. Looking forward to using it in summer as it can be just as hard then, to know what to dress him in for bed and whether to have the fan or air-conditioning on or not. Knowing the humidity is also helpful and I really don't know of any other way of detecting it so easily. Good to know you've got the right air in the room, not too dry or damp.
I found it easy to set up, even though the instruction booklet is a little too simple. For example, it's a bit confusing as to whether the batteries have to come out of the Base unit before you plug it into the wall socket. I realised if I took the batteries out first, I would lose the settings, so plugged it in anyway. It was ok. Having a battery option is handy though, because it's made sharing between the two households very easy. Mum packs it into his bag when he comes over. Love this portable idea, this will also come in handy when they go on a holiday, particularly if there isn't a power point handy or if in another country where the plugs are always different.
I like the big screen on the Monitor and large numbers, makes it very easy to see it at a glance. The colour change is also a great idea, also just a glance to see if it's too cold or hot, and you're happy when you see it green. Handy to have by our bed, so we know the temperature changes during the night. It's easy to read on the screen all of the information for the child's room where the sensor is, as well as the room you have the monitor in, in this case, our room. We now know his room needs to be a little warmer at this time.
The sensor for the child's room is nice and small. We now place it under the cot, for two reasons. It's the closest to where he sleeps where he also can't get to it during the day when he's playing. ( we don't want to be constantly moving it every time he wakes up). And the second reason is a very important one. Our grandson sleeps in a very, very dark room (sleep consultants advice, it works), the red light on the sensor is a distraction because it continuously flashes, even if you turn it around, it can be seen. So, by putting it under the cot, it's not so bad.
Another negative is that the Monitor makes a loud beep every time you press it to check the room temp etc. There seems to be no way to turn this beep off, or down, so don't have it near the baby's room because it could wake them. The Monitor can have 1 to 3 sensors remotely connected to it, very helpful when you need it for more than one child. But, if you only have 1 sensor connected, you still have to scroll through empty channels on the monitor to get back to ch1, that seems a bit of a basic design and it beeps loudly every time.
To summarise, the Glow Dreaming Sleep Sensor is actually very handy, particularly when you want to use the TOG rating system for your baby's sleep attire. Handy for new parents and grandparents in particular. It would make a great gift for the new parents for sure. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for those few negative points I just mentioned. In fact 4.5 stars would be my choice if it was available. Great idea, just needs a little design fine tuning.
Excellent informing TWO important variables to help your SLEEP – The Glow Perfect Sleep Sensor is excellent at TWO things. I’m onto my third baby, and we use sleeping bags for all of them (probably have a bout 20+ in total through all different sizes and TOGs), and also use humidifiers in each of their rooms. This is the first baby we’ve had a sleep monitor for, and it takes the guess work out of it. It… Read more · 1
states a recommended TOG to use in real-time, for the current temperature, so I know what to put on baby to keep them warm but not overheated. Previous to this, it was just guesswork based on how I was feeling, but now this is actually an objective measure. The Sleep Sensor is extremely easy to set-up, use and understand. The paper manual is small and succinct if you do need it for any reason. The display is big, can be bright if you want it to be, and displays temperature and humidity for both the sensor(s) and monitor. It does what it needs to do very well – telling you the humidity and temperature in real time, so we have a better idea if we need to put on the humidifier, and also obviously which TOG sleeping bag will be the best. For the price though, I’d probably want more than just one monitor, two in total (instead of one) to measure a couple of rooms (in addition to the monitor itself). That would be a much better proposition. The red light at the front of the sensor which flashes a few seconds apart is quite annoying though, especially in a dark room, when we want baby to sleep without other stimulation. The other thing I found not really practical as well is the loud beep that occurs when I press the top of the screen to change its brightness level. Can’t seem to find a way to turn the sound off unfortunately, and the beep is not something you’d want if you’re in the same room as the baby but want to see the monitor. It takes a few batteries (AAA size) to get the most out of it. Two for the sensor (this is a must), and three for the monitor (this is optional). Unfortunately, the settings all reset once you unplug it from the mains power at the wall, so if you want it portable, you need to use batteries for the monitor. If you want to know TWO controllable variables that could aid your baby get a more comfortable sleep, humidity and temperature, then the Glow Perfect Sleep Sensor is awesome. It’s not perfect though, but it’s hard to say no to something so simple that can help baby and a parent sleep better.
Takes the guess work out of dressing for bed – Really happy with the monitor and allows us to control the temperature in our sons bedroom with a greater degree of accuracy. The company has been excellent to deal with as well and I am a repeat customer. Show reply
FIrst Impressions – WHAT: This is a remote temperature and humidity sensor, customised for monitoring internal climatic conditions claimed to be relevant to setting up the optimum sleeping conditions (targeted at babies, young children but may be useful in other circumstances - eg adults or those with insomnia). It is a companion to the glow dreaming humidifier/pink… Read more
noise/ aromatherapy unit, as the companion unit that adds to the environmental conditions in the room (sound, smell, light) does NOT monitor the actual temperature or humidity - so this product fills the gap. (but note*** below) HOW: Sensors are built into the main monitoring ("parent") screen and up to three remote sensors {one only supplied in unit}. The remote sensors send the information every 2-3 minutes to the main unit which then displays it on the "parent" screen. It is pre-programmed with an ideal sleeping range, (18-22ºC and humidity range) and then gives a recommended "TOG" - (Thermal Overall Grade) for selecting the right sleeping garments so as to keep your little one comfortable without being too hot or too cold. It can generate an "alarm" (not to be confuse with a wake up alarm) when outside the optimum range. SETUP: There is a small booklet included for setup and use, but no online help could be found on the manufacturer's website. This could be useful as the instructions are vague or missing in places. Settings are flexible for ºC/ºF, date/month order preference, 12/24 hour time. The main unit is powered from AAA batteries or supplied plug pack, the remote sensors are AAA battery only. The MODE button is used for most settings, with a long press getting to initial setup and alarm configurations. Linking to the remote sensors is NOT explained, apart from the fact you should power up the remote sensors first. (so what happens when the remote goes flat or you lose connection?). By trial and error I found that you could enable a search by a long press on the remote button "CH/+", and after a while it found the remote sensor, but on the unit kept on searching for sensors 2 and 3. A supplementary press on the "CH/+" button when it was on a channel seemed to cancel the search function for that sensor - ideally if you have one sensor you just want that channel displayed and not keep searching. This is a poor oversight in the instructions. ALARMS: There are two inbuilt alarms, which are just time of day settings. when triggered the inbuilt beep sounds and if you don't cancel it (use the MODE button) it gets more insistent. This is a marginal benefit for young babies, but perhaps useful for young children / adults. What would be more useful for babies would be an elapsed time alarm as a option on the two alarm channels, so you could set a timer - for those parents who are a little obsessed with sleep duration more than sleep quality. The other "alarms" as such is that the temperature and/or humidity displays will flash when they cross a threshold, but there is no audible alarm to go with this, so if the temperature or humidity goes outside the range you have to be monitoring the main display to see this. What would improve this function would be an option to generate a sound alert at a set extreme threshold temperature (most important) - the humidity in most living spaces is likely to be a secondary factor here. This visual alert is also programmed to give a BLUE display (cold) GREEN (comfortable) and RED (hot) which reinforces the information (and is a little cute too) IN USE: As this is early days, I'll edit this first review and/or provide an update on progress. POSSIBLE IMPROVEMENTS: It would not be difficult to add more features - at least found monitoring in the room, and if it really is designed to be an environmental sensor, it should be able to record those conditions so you can see if there are regular fluctuations in the sleeping environment - busy parents are not always in a position to be watching the screen all the time, so a record that could be reviewed (e.g like the body worn fitness apps) or a link to the health reporting functions built into modern smart devices would be useful. ***I suspect the majority of glow dreaming users are just relying on the main humidifier/sound/light device, and if that works, are not too fussed about the extra monitoring that this environmental sensor provides
SAFETY ISSUE** While it says you can use batteries to keep settings in case of power failure, it is not clearly expressed if you can leave them in as a safety backup when using the plug pack. Later in the instructions it says "replaceable batteries are to be removed while in the direct charging mode" - it could mean that you can leave rechargeable batteries in place, but not "replaceable" - as this is not clearly expressed I would use either batteries in the main unit OR the power pack, but not both at the same time in case it made the batteries leak or worse.

A little limited in its usage, but good for what it does – When our grand daughter spends the nights with us, there is always a little concern that she is in a different environment and to ensure she is comfortable and her sleep situation is not so completely different to her normal home. Otherwise she may struggle to sleep through the night. ANYTHING that helps in doing that is fantastic and the Glow… Read more
Perfect Sleep Sensor DOES help achieve that by making sure the temperature and humidity are as they should be.
With this, we can make sure she has the exact same climate that she has in her own bed and on top of that ensure she is dressed in the right outfit, as the unit also lets you know the recommended TOG (Thermal overall grade).
For anyone who is inexperienced as a parent and a little nervous about their baby at night, it is sensational as it gives that extra level of assurance.
On the down side, we still need a baby monitor camera so we can see and hear if she is settled, and for experienced parents it is far less an essential and far more a luxury item.
I also found it quite difficult to set up the first time, but that may simply be because I am not technically minded.
Summing up, for new mums, it is a great idea – along with the normal baby monitor, and worth every penny of the purchase price, as it will ensure a peaceful night for the little one and peace of mind for the parents (and grandparents)!
If it had also had a camera and audio it would be perfect, without those, a standard baby monitor is far more important.
