GME TX3350

Aerials mounts are very poor quality - Radio is good – We bought three of the TX3350UVP kits and so far two of the aerial mounts have broken in the exact same location. One is mounted on a bull bar and the other is mounted on the vehicle. Neither have been used on dirt roads so vibration should not be the issue. I think it is just poor quality parts. It is pain to replace an aerial mount, it is a big job to re run the cable. I tried to ring GME but their phones don't work either, "I am sorry, we are unable to process your call". I would steer clear of their aerials until this issue is fixed.

Impressed – I was sceptical about the sound quality as it is in the handset. I purchased it, however, as I was able to hide the unit behind the dash. The audio is very good and clear. I have also installed a GME magnetic microphone holder for the handset which is very convenient. I would definitely recommend.

Excellent compact UHF for 4x4 or camping – I've long been skeptical about the merits of compact UHF units, and tended to just purchase full-size DIN cheaper radios to fit my vehicles as needed. Recently I needed to fit a UHF to our 150 series Toyota Prado, and looked at the options to hide the head unit behind the dash as I didn't want to clutter up the dash. My main skepticism for hiding the head unit behind the dash was that sound quality would be affected and I didn't want to mount a remote speaker, but the GME TX3350 has been a great compromise as there is a speaker mounted on the mic and this allows wonderfully clear sound without it being muffled by the dash.

Very impressed with the features and sound quality of this unit. Purchased as part of a value pack that came with an aerial mount, spring base, a long and rubber ducky aerial and bullbar & Z mounts. Excellent value at $335 delivered, purchased through Ebay.

EDIT: after about 12 months of use, this has proven to be a great UHF. I use cheaper units in work vehicles and this sound quality on this continues to impress, as does ease of use. No issues with build quality.
