Great product – This radio has been brilliant for me and my family. We do a lot of remote travel and have found the audio really clear and the hand piece is super easy to use. Show reply

Outstanding after sales service from Janet in the Oricom Customer Support team – I have a Oricom DTX4200 that I purchsed for our caravaning trips in and around Australia from Oricom in August 2019 and from day one it has operated in all conditions without a problem. The only issue has been the rubber sleeve around the microphone cord where it enters the microphone has split. I sent an email to Oricom enquiring where a… Read more ·  1

replacement sleeve could be obtained and they sent a reply 3 hours later requesting information regarding proof and date of purchase, etc. I sent this information via email and again with a couple of hours I was informed that a new microphone assembly would be sent to me, and I would receive it in the next few days. A great result and much appreciated proactive customer service. Many Thanks to Janet in Customer Service.

Great after sales service from Oricom – I have had my Oricom DTX4200 in my 4x4 for almost 30 months. It works really well! I have noticed that the insulation around the coiled cord of the hand piece has cracked and separated in several places. I contacted Oricom and received a return email immediately. After reviewing of some photos, Oricom confirmed that they have forwarded a new… Read more ·  1

Oricom can’t reset – So I’ve hooked up my uhf turns on fine so I thought, then says channel 12 with the s on top right but can’t do nothing from there. Can’t reset doesn’t let me do anything. I’m stuck on what to Show reply

Quality of service from Oricom is not comparable – Danial and Janet were above and beyond expectation of any company I have dealt with for a long time for their response, helpful and courteous nature. I am extremely happy with the DTX4200 Thank you Guys. Show details ·  1

Warranty – I got in touch with Oricom warranty service about a lead on the hand held mic on the DTX 4200 it had perished in a couple of places I spoke to Jess on the phone and nothing was a problem for her all sorted in less than 5 minutes A big thanks to Jess and Oricom for a hassle free outcome Show details ·  1

I bought the DTX4200 because of the easy press and dial controls on the hand piece – I hate having to keep press a tiny button for volume for channel selection and so easy dialing the numbers or volume quickly and easy with my thumb no looking. After about 10months have had issue with the lead coming apart , but one phone call and a new one is being sent straight out, awesome after service .  Show details ·  1

Speaker not loud enough – We got the dtx4200 because of the 2 channel option and we love it. The bit that sucks is the speaker isn't loud enough, we really have to be holding the mic to hear what's being said. Show details

This is great – Works as advertised, very happy with unit. Easy to install and operate, great for travelling with a group of caravanners, easy to communicate. Dual channels are great, aerial was easy to install. Show details ·  1

Do not buy a DTX4200! – This is a crap UHF. The volume that it transmits to other UHF's is appalling and extremely "muffled". The volume of the speaker in the hand held microphone is too quiet for a 79 series Landcruiser, I've had to install an external speaker. Oricom were no help when I emailed them, they said to "reset" it or some crap. I've gone ahead and purchased… Read more

another 2nd hand UHF that works way better than this unit. I'll either sell this DTX4200 onto SOME other poor sod or bin it. I'd never buy another Oricom again. Stick to GME, and no problems.

Great piece of kit – Real clever design, all functions on the mic and at the touch of a button. Great for use in convoy and those long trips, being able to swap from local channel on the go with the lads and then monitor and speak with traffic ahead. Show details ·  1

Great Dual Receive feature but outsmart by a premium handheld – The only reason to buy this fixed mount radio is its ability to listen in dual channels. In every other areas, a premium 5w handheld radio would outsmart this premium DTX4200. With the right accessories, a premium 5w handheld, such as Oricom ULTRA550, would beat this beast in the ff: -can be in-car use, as well as handheld on the go -audio… Read more ·  1

scrambler -can use headset/earpiece mic -triple watch

Oricom warranty is excellent. They've shipped me a new replacement when my newly purchased one was in trouble.

One would expect the squelch tail suppression feature would work seemlessly with other Oricom Uhf handhelds, but unfortunately, it does not work when paired with their non-premium handhelds such as Oricom 2w UHF2295 -- which is quite annoying. Ironically, handheld-to-handheld radios (UHF2295) squelch tail suppression just works magically. Apart from its capability of dual recieve, my expectations fell short. I was expecting it would have the super-set of features and more capable than a premium handheld. Now that handhelds has triple watch feature, there is very little reason to go with this fixed mount radio. Further, it draws 25mA of standby current (off). Something to think about when attaching to an always-on power.

Great UHF 4200 – Takes a while to work out functions. Instructions in the manual supplied need to explain functions and how to use in better details. Very important for first time users. Great unit. Show details ·  1

Not the best known- but the best – This is a great unit: Very easy to install even for a non-technical (lazy?) person like me, and the instructions were specific, accurate and actually worked. All the controls are on the handset so none of the usual issues trying to make something fit and ruining the dash; and the main unit doesn't get in the way of knees (this is an important… Read more ·  1

benefit). After just a couple of uses the controls became automatic. Squelch adjusted easily and effectively and the audio quality was truly clear - noticeably better than another high-profile brand I had before. As often happens, the lesser known brand turns out to be at least equal to high-profile brands. Also, Oricom is the only one that has dual-receive so I can listen on both Ch 40 and Ch 18 at the same time, and I can call on either channel by just swapping between the two. The fact that Oricom is Australian owned is another reason why I recommend this unit.

Good Product – When hand piece plugged in did not work, Turns out after fault finding that the plug on the hand piece does not make tight contact on the unit even after the finger tightening process. I would appreciate Oricoms agent in Darwin to take a look if one is available. Show reply

Excellent unit – I have used many UHF radios in past years and this is as easy as it gets. Installed it myself, it’s a small base unit so easy to find a suitable location in the vehicle. Plenty of coax with the Town/Country antenna kit. It’s used most days for the past 5 months and is super easy to operate with all controls and the rotary channel dial on the mic.… Read more ·  1

The dual receive (which is really why I purchased it) is such a good feature. I’m nearly always listening on CH40 while on another channel. Very handy on the freeways. Gets good range with the supplied antennas. Has a load more features which I’m still exploring. Can’t think of any negatives so far.

Nice one Oricom – Easy unobtrusive installation and well paired with the Antenna in the Ultimate pack. Looking forward to trying this one out on my next trip up North and will feel a lot safer if we get chased by bushfires again. Show details ·  1

Top quality and easy to use! Excellent UHF – This UHF Radio is an incredible bit of gear, paired with the town and country aerial pack which includes a 3dbi and 6.5dbi aerial it gives me crystal clear communication no matter where i am. It is easy to use and has the added bonus of being able to dual receive which means it can listen to 2 channels at once. It is also packed full of other handy features. Great UHF! Show details ·  1

Unbelievable after Service – Purchased the DTX4200 and was very impressed with the unit. However I was having a small problem with the supplied antenna. I contacted Oricom and explained my concern. Excellent Product and Value – Purchased the Oricom UHF380PK 5 Watt CB radio for our current round Australia trip and 2 antennas first one a 3DBI ANU930 Fiberglas Fitted to the Bull bar of our Ford Ranger and the second one is a 6.5DBI ANU900 antenna fitted to the roof rack of the Ranger. From the time we left Melbourne the unit was turned on and has worked perfectly everywhere… Read more ·  2

and all along the great ocean Rd with the 3DBI antenna, will swap over to the 6.5DBI once we leave Port Augusta where it will better suit especially on the Nullabor. Early days yet for a full review but so far faultless unit and antennas, love the fact that the speaker is in the transceiver and also the mic for a crisp clear sound which I was a bit concerned about when doing my research as some Oricom models apparently can do with an external speaker just to hear anything clearly. Anyway in my opinion this is a great unit, I have another well known opposition brand in my work van although also very good but not as crisp as the Oricom.

Great unit, can listen to 2 channels at once – I enjoy the feature of being able to talk and listen to 2 people at once. It is so easy to switch between conversations because the unit has a swap button on the hand piece. It also has individual volume controls on both channels. Great value for money and a fantastic warranty.  Show details ·  1
