Terrible coffee, horrible food, huge prices – The name is Good Fella Co And I had the worst cafe experience visiting Good Fella Co last week than I have ever experienced. The title says it all, but let me elaborate. I stood in a line outside the cafe to be served. Ordered a large latte (without flavourings which is a shame as it would have hidden the terrible bitter taste of the coffee) Ordered a beef, cheese & spinach sausage roll. I was charged $14, and the coffee was $5.62 which means my 2” long sausage roll was somehow $8.38 which is highway robbery The sausage roll besides being smaller than normal was soft, burnt and the mush inside oozed out everywhere with each bite, and it came with a home made sauce that just tasted like sweet pureed tomatoes But besides the food and coffee, was what I then saw while I waited 10 minutes for my disaster. The shop was funky, the type of cafe that feels cheap rough interiors satisfy interior design, everything was cement, original construction and dull and lifeless (btw I am an Interior Designer) I watched the sullen faced lady who served me, while she served others and noticed that she only had an animated friendly smile for people under about 30yrs and even the businessmen who had obviously come from the businesses in the units above didnt warrant a smile or kind greeting. I think she was the person in charge of the counter by the way she spoke to collegues. To finish off, I heard the barista explain to this woman why she was adding something from a pitcher to the coffee - “because the coffee is just too bitter”.

Message to management ……… What ever your decor choice is is your business and brand. If your point of difference is healthy options and your clientele young gym followers all the best to you. But your staff could do with some training in manners and basic customer care because anyone over 30 is not invisible or non existent. And your chef could benefit from some culinary training in how to provide healthy food that functions as its meant to be - the sausage roll was pitiful, it had no texture, was not stable to eat and was a mess of flavours with the sauce provided.

Signed someone over 30 and not a gym junkie
