Google Pixel 6 256GB (2021)

Phone is great, dual SIM useless – The phone itself is great - quite useable and has a great camera. The reason I bought the phone was for its dual SIM. While using two SIMs, the internet connection would drop out dozens of times a day. I bought a second phone, only use one SIM and the dropping out problem has gone away.
Purchased at Optus for $1,000.
Most problematic phone I've ever owned – Out of the box it was a headache. It would drop network and sometimes take 30 minutes to reconnect. This was eventually fixed with a security update, however the aerials must be junk as I still have black spots in coverage where i never have with previous devices. It will often just reboot of it's own accord, generally right when you need to use it. This is getting more frequent and sometimes you even end up in a bootloop for 5 minutes or so. Recently it has begun booting in recovery mode after a reset, claiming my OS is corrupt. The customer service team is average at best. They don't actually pay attention to the fault, they just resort to "perform a factory data reset" as if everyone has 2 hours to spare every week or so. Their next step is to replace the device with a refurbished one, except you have to send your device in first. Needless to say, this will be my last Pixel.
Purchased in at Telstra Stores.
NOT waterproof – Phone was in shallow water in a swimming pool for about 30 seconds. Screen is now 70% covered in purple, and unreadable.I like the pixel 6, hate the lack of waterproofing. This was one of the reasons I bought the thing. Will be taking it back to where I bought it.
Purchased in at JB Hi-Fi for $999.
Fingerprint problem at the beginning, but afterwards amazing phone – I had a fingerprint fault after my phone overheat once and shutdown. I'm always keeping my phone updated, but at the beginning the only solution I found in online forums was a factory reset. No way I would do that, so I decided wait until Google release an update that would fix the bug in the software. After that, I never had an issue again. Amazing battery life, camera is really good but it could be a bit better for macro photos (I know, pixel 6 plus would give me better results for couple of hundreds more), decent speaker and fast enough for me (I'm not a gamer). One thing that annoyed me at the beginning was the charger. As everyone knows, most of the new phones doesn't come with charger anymore, inly cable. So I tried to use the charger from my old phone and another different charges that I have, none of them worked. So I had to wait until tje charger was available in the JB-hifi in my town. Long story, short story, yes I do recommend the Pixel 6. Good price for what offers!
Purchased in for $1,149.
Great phone. With a design flaw buyers should note – Terrific phone. However it has a design feature that is a defect. The camera needs thickness so a bar has been incorporated into one side. That isnt the defect. It even provides a hold point in your hand. But when it is combined with the VERY high gloss glass back of the phone it creates a problem. I would find my phone unlike any i have ever owned falls to the ground daily off arm chairs, tables etc and even many times a day. Why? Its the unbalanced weight from the camera bar and the slippery glass that sees the phone slide off anything other than a flat table. Its annoying.
Be warned. In two months mine has fallen frequently. It needs a cover....which you cant buy...just to stop it sliding off things.
