Still waiting — disappointing experience post-sale I was referred to Green.com.au through Finn at Solar Quotes as one of three recommended providers. The initial sales experience with [Name Removed]9 was excellent. No pressure, very easygoing, and I appreciated the advice to start smaller and build up over time. Unfortunately, everything after… Read more

that has been frustrating.

From the outset, I was clear this was a newly built home and that we were the first occupants. Despite this, I was incorrectly quoted for a hot water heat pump with a rebate, which I later had to cancel because our gas hot water system is less than three years old. This should have been picked up early.

Since then, it has been constant chasing. I completed all requirements through Solar Victoria and my OC, yet for 2 months I have repeatedly been told they are waiting to hear back from the Vic scheduler, with no clear progress or timelines.

Communication has also been inconsistent. Post sale, I was assigned a customer service contact who did not respond to questions, and I had to go back to the original salesperson just to get basic support.

Now, Solar Victoria has advised that if installation does not occur within the next 60 days, I will need to reapply. This creates even more admin and uncertainty.

At this point, I feel misled and stuck. They hold my deposit, including funds transferred from the cancelled hot water system, and they are already approved through both Solar Victoria and my OC, which makes it difficult to walk away.

I am also increasingly concerned about the quality of the outcome. There has been no onsite visit, and I have little confidence the system will meet our needs or perform as expected, for example during a blackout.

Overall, this has been a very disappointing experience after what started as a promising engagement.

Green.com.au were a top class Solar Battery service provider when i went around looking for a Solar Battery system for my house in NSW. I zero’d in on a GoodWe system which others were pricing much higher (>$22k). And i was about to lock a deal in until i heard from Green.com.au and got their quotation for the same system. That told me I didn’t… Read more

have to pay that high a price and Green were promising a pretty good deal altogether. I didn’t get the system from them as in the end a sweeter deal became available thru a different provider at the last minute. But had it not been for Sean at Green, i would have paid a whole lot more (in excess of $7k-$8k. Thankyou Sean for your help, great service, and honesty, professionalism like yours is not found so easily these days. Will surely recommend you to all.

Very pleased with the service from Green.com.au in providing us with our AlphaESS Solar Battery storage unit and the competitive pricing. Had to wait a while until new stock arrived but happy to wait for the most up to date Battery to arrive. We were kept informed during the waiting process. The people were pleasant and efficient. The sales process is efficient and fast. Execution of the install. Less so. I signed a contract with them and paid a deposit nearly 4 months ago. Still no install date. Not replying to emails and not returning phone calls. Hate to say it - Avoid.

The sales team were rather dishonest. They promised a battery that would run the entire house in a blackout "no dedicated circuits required" but this was not what was provided. A 5kW inverter was installed which has a far too small throughout for such claims. They also promised auto switching during blackout but a manual switch was installed -… Read more

rather useless when one is away and hoping the fridge is kept cold when a blackout occurs. The company is also silent after sales, very little support to fix their mistakes.

I would avoid this company

It started off well with my initial contact with Green.com.au last August to get a quote for a battery add-on to our existing solar PV system that was installed in 2017. The sales person was polite, friendly, very down to earth and no pressure tactics used. He was easily reachable on his mobile any time I wanted and the longest I waited for a… Read more

call-back was an hour. I'm in Melbourne and I really wanted a local business to deal with so I also got 3 other quotes locally. Unfortunately their quotes were much higher for a smaller battery and some used pressure tactics which I didn't like.

So after careful consideration and all the good reviews on some solar quote sites, I decided to go with Green.com.au for an AlphaESS Smile5 26.6kWh battery with an AC coupled Inverter.

THE GOOD: 1. Very polite, friendly sales and service staff, they take their time with you (once you get through). 2. No sales pressure tactics. 3. Sales staff are very reachable, not very long wait times when you call them, maybe 1 hour the most. You mostly deal with the same staff mamber. 4. Very smooth sales process.

TH BAD: 1. At the time service booked my install, I was advised that if the distance between the sub-board and battery exceeded 15m, I'd have to pay for the extra cabling. This was never communicated to me at any time during the sales process, verbally or in writing. It was sorted out later and I didn't have to pay anymore than what I was quoted but it was a headache with back and forth calls and emails. 1. After install I never got the post-install follow-up call stated on my contract. 2. I also never got the post-install documentation and warraty certificates. 3. I had to call them to follow-up on those documents and warranty certificates. 4. When calling their service department, you never get answered. After a minute of ringing out, it goes to an automated message asking to leave your details to be called back. 5. Response times are at least 2 days, whether it's for a call or email, maybe more depending on how busy they are; usually most of the time.

Since last week, I am now having an issue with my inverter where the circuit that is blackout protected loses power while the grid is still up and running and the rest of the circuits in the house are also running. It has happened three times now, once last week at 5am, then yesterday around 7:20pm and today around 1:20pm. I am getting an "Output Overload" error code and the inverter then just shuts the power to the circuit that is meant not to lose power at all. You can't manually restore the power either and have to wait for the inverter to restore the power which can take up to 10 minutes or more. I have tried calling Green.com.au service since this morning and it just rings out. I've also followed that up with an email so who knows when they'll respond to me. I have no idea what will happen in an emergency if and when the battery/inverter completely fails. You'd think Green would have a dedicated 24 hour support line with all the money they're making.

What started out as so promising with this company turned out to be so disappointing. It's my fault too for trusting this company, because them being an interstate company to me, they just act as a middle man. I am also looking at upgrading my solar PVs in the near future and was thinking of going with Green but after all this after-sales ghosting and huge wait times, I'll be going elsewhere, directly to the installers, not middle-men like Green. If you're in NSW maybe Green's service is good, but in Melbourne, just stick with well known Victorian businesses or go directly with installers themselves.

The best business I have worked with, their sales team are great and their operations team are fantastic. They kept me informed the entire way, they noted there may be delays because the rebate has created a little bit of chaos in the industry. I understood this as I worked in an industry in the past where the government incentivised people to buy… Read more

our product and overnight things went crazy. Under the circumstances I believe Green.com.au has done an amazing job.

I'm now the proud owner of a solar and battery set up.

In an industry full of cowboys and empty promises, I am certain they will be here for the long run to service me if I ever need. I've referred my brother, his mates, my parents and few of my mates too. trust can go a long way.

I was referred to Green.com.au by a trusted expert and, letting my guard down, accepted promises from their salesman about full whole-house backup and blackout charging — features the system couldn’t deliver. On install day, the electricians explained none of it was possible. Under pressure with everyone onsite, and head office saying the real… Read more

functionality would cost ~$10k extra (calling the salesman’s claims a “rookie mistake”), we proceeded anyway. The installed system is good quality and works well (thanks to competent 3rd-party installers), but it falls far short of what was promised. Green provided no follow-up, which was disappointing. Bottom line advice: Get multiple quotes, research thoroughly, and insist on every promised detail in writing. Salespeople promise everything — don’t rely on verbal assurances or vague bullet-point quotes.

cooling fans. Once removed, the inverter worked and power was finally restored. IMO, bypass switches should be installed at all times, so you could always go back to the grid in a pinch. SAJ 15kwh hybrid inverter, 20kw solar, 20kwh battery. Discussed install date did not happen, so messed up my plans. Install was quick but bugger all training. SAJ app not very intuitive. System didn't operate properly, so installer had to return to fix.

A couple of months after install, power goes out, battery at 100%. Green.com help "on holidays", SAJ on holidays, installer on holidays. Was considering a bigger setup for our power hungry business - not now; far too risky losing power! We operate over the holidays, like many other businesses.

Follow-up  · There was no support over the key public holidays. I believe they are going to initiate a backup option in the future? The install date changed on account of sales not verifying the installers could physically install on the date initially discussed. Software bookings systems can help prevent this from happening, though things do not always go… Read more

After successful install I noted that hybrid PV & battery system not delivering to full capacity. I provided details of issues via screen shots and access to my online systems. After the installation of my 6.6kw PV, (last month), Green.com.au installed my Sungrow SBR128 · 12.8kWh LiFePO₄ battery last week. Again, they sent their technician, Oscar Tate for this job, and again, his attention to detail shone outstandingly. connection to my Sungrow Hybrid Inverter, and 3 - Connection and wiring to my switchboard including backup circuits (one power and one light). Oscar cleaned up the site and left everything neat and tidy, also taking away a copious amount of cardboard packaging.. I can heartily reccommend Green.com.au for your professional install of wharever Solar / Battery combination you have in mind. The workmanship, and high level of detail is rare. People living in Metro Sydney are so lucky to have Green.com.au as a choice.

Following my engagement of Manly's Solar Choice, to assist with quotations for solar panel installations, I accepted Green.com to perform my job. I was impressed by the combination of flexibility, latest tech, high level of service, and of course, price. From the onset, Green's representative, Ryan Towie, was able to answer all questions I threw… Read more

at him, no matter how difficult. You see, I wanted to incorporate my existing 14 year old solar system (3.2Kw), into this new installation. Not only that, I wanted my new inverter, (and later on, new battery), to be located on the opposite side of my house. (Opposite from my existing inverter and switchboard). I opted for an upgraded inverter also, boasting hybrid tech, and 3 strings. The standard had only 2 strings. This feature allowed me the possibility, of adding a replacement set of panels, if and when my old panels ever gave up. Installation was a breeze, a team of three technicians came at 7:30am, worked quietly and efficiently, completing the task at around 4pm. Team Leader Oscar Tate, a qualified Level 2 sparky, performed the final connection and certification. No need for Ausgrid nor anyone else to come out and delay my finalisation. Oscar ran through the procedures of operation and instructed me on the use of the Sungrow App before leaving. I'm looking forward to the installation of my new battery, slated for early July. Thank you Green.com, and a big shout out to Ryan, Oscar, Jayden (Technician), Anil (Technician), and all the support staff at Green.com, you guys ROCK!

EDIT: Company responded to review and followed through with sales promise. ORIGINAL: Uses coercive sales tactics then does not deliver on promises and don’t respond to enquiries. They made after-sales promises of gift voucher for signing up to a program and never paid out.
