Guerlain Samsara

ok..the smell is too bold for me… – My mom has this perfume on her vanity table. It’s already half empty so I guessed that this perfume might be good since my mom really loves it. So, out of curiosity I tried it out to see if it would smell good on me. That was a mistake… the smell of this perfume is too overpowering for me, making my head ache. Since I am a person who loves wearing light perfumes, I was not prepared with its strong scent. I believe Samsara works best for women who are mature and not someone, like me, who prefers fresh and mild scented perfumes. I think women in their 30s or 40s would love this perfume. The scent is too overpowering.

Eternal Favourite – I have a life long love of Guerlain Samsara. It is a fragrance which I never tire of. Classic Scent - Unlike anything else. Fragrance is long lasting and a little bit goes a long way. A 100ml bottle lasts such a long time even with every day use.

Excellent – Samsara is like an old friend, I have loved it for years. Being quite a strong oriental, to me it is a winter perfume that you wear in the evening when going out. I think it would be too heavy for warm weather or daywear. A gorgeous fragrance. A beautiful, classic oriental perfume, very exotic and alluring. If you like Opium, you will probably love Samsara.

Good – This perfume was described to me as the last of the great Guerlain scents, and I agree, in that subsequent scents are more synthetic I think. It's a departure from Guerlain's earlier perfumes which all have a distinctive vanilla note in them. Samsara evokes neither vanilla nor any particular flower or other plants, in fact I can't pinpoint its makeup at all. If you enjoy something different and of good quality try this. Elegant and sophisticated, also very unusual. As far as I know it has not been copied, at least I've never come across anything like it. The scent lingers; I've been complimented hours after putting it on. I don't think Samsara would appeal to a very young woman. It is quite bold and distinctive, not typical of modern new fragrances. I wouldn't wear it every day because I also really like lighter softer perfumes.
