Bought a 2024 GWM Tank 500 Ultra in December 2024. It has had ongoing, unresolved issues since our very first service (May 2025) — an intermittent cruise control/battery fault that was never properly fixed despite a "software update," and a vibration fault at our next service (June 2026) that also came straight back after a temporary fix. In… Read more

August 2026, while driving with my family in the car, the vehicle started vibrating badly, wouldn't respond to the brake, and I couldn't switch it off. All warning lights came on. It eventually turned off on its own. Genuinely terrifying. It's now been over 5 weeks and GWM still cannot diagnose the fault. Their own service centre's internal report shows the car loses communication between multiple control modules and has lost EV mode entirely — the case has been escalated all the way to GWM's head office in China, and their own technicians still can't replicate or fix it. Instead of taking responsibility, GWM Australia has spent weeks telling us to go to the dealer, while the dealer says they can't do anything because they're not an authorised GWM service centre. We were even told to "keep working with" a dealership that has never had physical possession of our car. We were also initially refused our own vehicle's diagnostic data, being told it was "internal only" — despite GWM's own service centre having already shared similar information with us directly days earlier. We've been left paying full loan repayments, registration and insurance on a car we can't drive, with a hire car too small to fit our three kids and their car seats. We've now had to lodge a formal application with VCAT just to get a straight answer. If you're considering a GWM, please do your research first. A brand-new, top-of-the-range vehicle should not fail like this, and a company should not treat a documented safety fault this way.

I purchased my Jolion from Wanneroo GWM Haval a couple of years ago. I was told, at the time, that there was a fixed price service for 5 years of $250. The car was serviced by them on the day before I picked it up. All went well and I had the first… Read more

service last August, a year after I bought it. All good, price was $250. Went today for annual service and I was told by a youngish female that the cost was going to be $699. Told her no chance and she got another person who told me the same and, when I complained, he told me that there was nothing he could do. I walked out. Later phoned and spoke to their Service Manager and Assistant Service Manager by phone answering was told that my car hadn't been serviced when it should have so price was no longer fixed. Told them both that this was not true and told them exactly when it was serviced asnd that there records would show that. They then told me that the service issue was before I bought it. The car was an ex-demo. After some discussions, the service manager told me they would do the service for $350 as a favour to me provided that I service it again in 8 months, to bring it back in line. Told them I will service elsewhere. Never again will I go into this place for any reason. They do not keep to their agreement of fixed price servicing.

Follow-up  · I chose another mechanic to do the service at a cost at lot less than the dealer's price. I will never go to that dealer again even though they were quite good when I bought the car.

I had an excellent experience with the GWM sales team-they were professional ,friendly and provided outstanding customer service from start to finish. Unfortunately , my experience with the GWM Southport service centre was the compete opposite. The customer service was terrible and lack of communication, organization and care was extremely… Read more

disappointing. There seems to be no effective procedures in place and there is very little consideration for the customers and their busy lifestyle. Even after receiving an email confirming that I was entitled to a hire car, the service centre completely disregarded it and simply told me I would need to rebook my appointment. There was no attempt to resolve the issue only until I stood my ground and said you will need to take this up with your Manager. For such a well-known company , I expected much higher standards. A service department should understand how important it is to support its customers, communicate effectively and take responsibility when problems arise. Sadly my experience showed a complete lack of care and professionalism. I hope GWM addresses these issues, as a the excellent work of the sales team being undermined by the poor customer service provided by the Southport t service centre.

Brooke Gatt was fantastic at walking me through the sale of my vehicle to purchasing a new GWM Tank 300. It was a wonderful process and I highly recommend Brooke for her professionalism, and very warm approach. Excellent Brooke, thank you!

Sales people didn't know the features of the key fob, after sales support does not exist, the dealership does not call back and their head office don't respond to emails which are about warranty matters in relation to a brand new car. Show details

Jackson and Josh were fantastic to deal with, I encourage people to see them for a new GWM vehicle, I couldn't get a deal made with my trade in anywhere else as good as the deal they gave me. I highly recommend Noosa GWM.

Very disappointed with Burwood GWM – poor warranty support and long delays on my 2023 Haval Jolion I purchased a 2023 Haval Jolion from Burwood GWM with confidence in their 7-year unlimited kilometre warranty, but my experience has been extremely disappointing. Issue 1: The rear window got stuck in the open position — not once but twice within a… Read more

month. Issue 2: Water leaks into the rear door. After rain, when opening the rear door, water drips inside the boot area. Issue 3: Ignition coils failed, and I was told to wait 1.5 months for parts. Eventually, I had to get an independent repairer to fix it. Issue 4: The rear door developed rust from inside (not accident-related), likely due to the earlier water leak. Haval acknowledged it but told us to “wait for months,” with no clear timeframe. Issue 5: The manual states the sunroof should automatically close if it rains while the car is parked. It worked only once and never again. The service centre reset the sunroof but said it “cannot be fixed.” Haval promotes a 7-year warranty, but in reality, the long waiting times, unclear communication, and poor parts availability make it meaningless. No one can leave their car unusable for months waiting for warranty repairs. I want other buyers to know that while Haval’s warranty sounds great on paper, the actual after-sales service is slow and frustrating. I genuinely hope Haval and Burwood GWM improve their service standards and parts supply — because at the moment, the warranty doesn’t represent real customer support.

Absolutely hopeless could find no one with common sense. Only rule followers. In the middle of a trip across remote northern Australia my GWM Canon car lost power leaving me to limp in to Katherine NT. I need to talk to someone about what might have happened. Called the Darwin GWM Agent who told me to call Roadside Assist. RA say they cannot… Read more

provide mechanical advice as the car now has power back and that i should contact a local dealer. Only when the car stops working in the middle of the desert and outside phone reception, then I can call them back and they will help. The Darwin GWM dealer refused to help saying they cannot possible help without physically hooking the car up to a diagnostic system). They refused to let me talk to a service person and ask advice. Telling me to have the car towed back to Darwin. ABSOLUTELY HOPELESS. What a terrible car/company to have wasted my money on.

Im 69 ro and a pensioner. I lost my one and only car key somewhere in the Sydney CBD. My car was parked in a secure underground car park. Haval arranged someone to come to the building and break into my car. A car key locksmith would not come out… Read more

because it was Friday afternoon. Haval arranged a tow truck for the next day to take the car to the nearest dealer. When I arrived at the Dealership the next day, I was told they didnt have two keys in stock and it would take 2/3 business days to get them from Melbourne. I live over 100k away from the dealership. No loan car, its not under warranty. The problem is my fault. Haval Roadside arranged an Uber credit so I could get home. Thank you GWM Haval. Im a pensioner and they helped me.

Follow-up  · The tow truck was very quick to arrive but did not deliver my car to the dealer until 10:30 the next day. Although I purchased two keys from Maitland and delivered them to the Haval Dealer in Hope Street, Ryde they still charged me $400 to sync my Haval keys. Totally felt ripped off!!!!! The Uber credit allowed me to get home. Thank you Haval roadside assistance.

Absolutely appalling experience with GWM Ringwood Service Centre. I dropped my car off for a warranty engine replacement. Picked it up on July 7th. Within 45 minutes, the car broke down and had to be towed back. Instead of taking responsibility,… Read more

they blamed me, saying it was “bad fuel.” I’ve only ever used Premium 98, and I have proof. They’re now making me run around chasing receipts and evidence just to get reimbursed for the $459.80 tow.

No paperwork was provided. No advice on VicRoads engine update. And now they’re dodging the issue and gaslighting the customer instead of fixing their mistakes.

This is dishonest, deceptive behaviour and it needs to be called out. I’ve escalated this to Consumer Affairs Victoria, and I advise anyone reading this: don’t trust them with your car.

You’ve been warned.

Update: See petrol receipt from United Petroleum where i filled the car a couple of days before i took it to them with a full tank on PREMIUM 98! This is further proof that GWM Ringwood are completely DISHONEST. I am still waiting on CCTV footage, but I've been assured by United Petroleum that I will have it soon.

Follow-up  · GWM Ringwood made no attempt to make this easy for a customer requesting money back from a tow fee that they were responsible for. Instead, they made me run around getting petrol receipts, CCTV footage and after proving the breakdown WAS NOT due to me putting 'bad fuel' in my car, they still did not budge. I lodged a VCAT application...as soon as… Read more
