The absolute worst car I have ever had the misfortune to own. Yes it looks great when you first buy it and has all the "bells and whistles" however that's where it ends. Abruptly. Bought the H6 at the height of the Covid shortage when all car stocks were limited, brand new in 2022, the issues started straight away. The phone, you can hear the… Read more

caller clearly but you are unintelligible when speaking to the caller, I had a strange rattle under acceleration and reported it at service time to be told by servicing at GWM Burwood that this was "an optional extra" with a laugh, nothing done. The "safety features" cannot be turned off permanently, it has to be done every time you start the car, resulting in an orchestra of pings and bells every time it "sees a line on the road" (imaginary or real makes no difference). The cruise control is worthless as it auto slows you down for upcoming cars and even corners, highly dangerous and totally impractical.

Fast forward to 62,000 kilometres, the engine blew up in the space of a kilometre. Despite being under warranty I was advised to get it towed to GWM Blackburn where I was told I would have to pay $16,000 to replace the engine despite no warning lights and the servicing being completely up to date. Wow.

So I had to get Consumer Affairs involved (C2026-02/002266), it took GWM 5 weeks to agree to "honour" the warranty, no loan car, no apology for the original quote of $16,000, no reimbursement of towing, no explanation of what actually happened or why they changed their mind to honour the warranty. Another 3 weeks to get it repaired with a completely new engine, still $235 out of pocket for towing and re registering the engine with Vic Roads. Not to mention the resale value of my Haval is now in the toilet due to an engine replacement.

2 months without a car that was under warranty!

I hate to think what would happen to someone who doesn't know the law regarding car warranties, all I can suggest is either sell immediately or if you have an issue get straight on to Consumer Affairs, they were very helpful.

FRAUD COMPANY. The so-called 7-year warranty is a fraud. My car was damaged during service and returned to me in an unsafe condition, yet GWM refused responsibility. My wife and I were put at risk because of their negligence. This company clearly does not care about customer safety. Do NOT buy GWM. Do NOT trust their warranty.

Very happy, now. Bought, paid and finally delivered. Purchased a new H6 Ultra PHEV From GWM Werribee. Sales staff at Werribee HAVAL were excellent. The price dropped and they accepted the new, lower price and refunded me the difference. There was a… Read more

delay of 4 weeks. Unhappy with the delay but it worked to my advantage. A special call out to Zen for his patience and assistance.

Follow-up  · First service done. Service staff were excellent. Sales staff friendly and followed up well. Very happy with vehicle so far.

Packed with features – This vehicle was purchased brand new2023 build Drives beautifully, looks department this car wins. Petrol consumption need sworks as averaging 10.2 litres in city driving. Has every conceivable feature and recent updates seem to have fixed the drive assitance and not so hard. Microphone need work and have trouble picking up my voice for commands… Read more

for calls etc. Overall these flaws can be forgiven considering all this for under 50 grand. Resale will be the point to watch as this brand solidifies its position with reliability being tested with us all now

Is decent for the price – I also have an E class Merc. Beautiful car. But I turn off almost ALL the safety features as I do in every car I rent or drive. They are of no interest to me. They annoy me. So with that said the Ultra GT is good to go. I was disappointed with the sound system. As other reviewer mentioned. I actually can’t fault it for the drive and features and styling for the price. Show details

Lot of safety features, but someone will get killed by these safety features – Bought the 2022 Nov Model, lot of features, and drives very well without lane assist and cruise control. #Haval fixes your stuff, such a great car but their software for safety features is so dangerous that someone may get killed or damage others' property. 1. Lane Keep Assist, you need to fight with the steering to make sure it doesn't go out,… Read more

even though it works very well only on straight lanes.

2. Conner Assist, This is way dangerous and either you or someone else will be in hospital (God forbidden) 110KMH driving on the highway and normal conner its brakes so hard that within a second it brings the car from 110 to 75kMH the car behind you will smash into you or if its a raining day you will get a slip. I had to immediately put my foot on the accelerator to keep up with the speed.

My Mercedes has the same feature but it doesn't do hard brake, rather brings the speed to 5KMH less than the current speed and it doesn't use the brake, it releases some acceleration to bring the speed down and only when there are sharp turns not on every single turn.

3. Yesterday I was driving my h6gt and suddenly stop the engine while I was driving in the middle of the road and, the battery light comes up and asked me to stop and start the ignition, and guess what it didn't work, while the car was moving and I had to stop the car and push my ignition off and on. To dangerous.

4. Too many alerts, distract too much.

#Haval, you have added soo many safety buggy features that now, that it's not even safe to drive, oh wait maybe it's a car safety feature, not human safety, that you make humans so annoy that they park the car in their garage forever so the car will be safe isn't?

Overall car is good and it will be best if they fix this stuff.

#Haval, mate it's Australian roads, not china roads. These can be fixed via a software update...

Enticed by the warranty and features - Real world experience is awful! – With new car shortages everywhere, I find it funny that only the Chinese manufacturers have immediate stock. Why? Anyway, new car needed ASAP for business purposes brought us to a Haval H6 GT. My partner was enticed by the warranty and features and despite the car looking like a cringeworthy Porsche Cayenne GT wannabe, we took the plunge. Happy… Read more

wife, happy life.

The test drive initially didn't seem to bad. Unfortunately we didn't try all the "safety" features that were on offer on the test drive.

Forward to now and a 100 km return trip daily has us regretting every minute of this purchase.

To summarise:

- Awful driving position. It's really hard to find a comfy position, more so with under thigh support - Steering lag issues, Adaptive Cruise Control and emergency braking is temperamental and dangerous. The ACC in particular will brake hard and its dangerous with a car behind you. Going around a bend at 100kmh the car will break to 75kmh. Its been back to the dealer for this and they said its how it is with its latest update - Groaning noise when using auto park system - Wallowy suspension, sluggish take off from gearbox - Sound system is subpar. Android auto/ Apple car play randomly don't connect despite genuine cables - Infotainment screen takes a while to activate - Air conditioning never feels truly "cold". We run a fleet of Hilux ute's both single and dual cab and the AC in them is not even comparable

The car may have features and 7 year warranty, however if you really value a good driving car, run, and run fast. These are awful. We just sold ours back to a dealer at a loss but glad to have it gone. It seems like they've thrown every feature possible at this car to entice buyers, however in practice its not worth it.
