The Online Tax System has gone downhill since H&R Block took over
I started using E-Lodge from 2015 to do my own Tax Return online. The System was pretty good and guided me though doing the Tax. However, a few years ago H&R Block bought out E-Lodge and the system has taken a dive since then. Previously the system would carry my Capital Losses forward automatically, however, I realised recently this feature stopped working. So I had to amend 2 Tax Returns. On Amending the Tax return the system changed my Deductions without my awareness and suddenly I ended up with a Tax Bill for adding a Capital Loss to my
... Read morereturn. After many emails back and forth, H&R Block finally acknowledged it was their fault and allowed me to Amend the Tax Return again at their expense. If you know the flaws in the system you can work with it, but really, they need to make the system a bit smarter again.Excellent Service and Commitment

DO NOT use this company if you want your tax return quickly
It takes over 48 hours after the tax return has been issued to the recipient. This is unacceptable in todays economy of instantaneous monetary transfers. When I rang up to lodge a complaint I was told that the company does not have a complaint area.

Ignored deductions, entered incorrect amounts, gave me a higher tax bill than e-tax.
I had a tax bill this year so I thought I'd see an accountant for the first time. They ignored deductions I'd entered into the supplied form, and I noticed expenses with multiple entries didn't total the correct amount. When they gave me my tax estimate, it was HIGHER than the one I'd received after filling in my own tax return. When I questioned it, they corrected their entries and now I have the exact same tax bill AND I have to pay $180 for the 'service'.

Just writing to let you know that the service I have received from H&R Bock was disgusting. So much in face that I am think of going to a Current Affair with my complaints.
I have been a customer of H&R Block of over 30 years and the 2023 tax return just gone was the worst service that I have ever experienced from a retail store. I took my full year tax in to him in late July and he had booked three other people in the same time slot as me. His computer was not working and after messing me around for two weeks I went in the sign the forms and he said he had not finished them. Had to wait another 2 days till the following Monday. I decided to look for a professional accontant and asked the new account to contact H&R block as a courtesy..H&R Block still has not come back to us with the ok and then has stuffed up my tax by not including my interest earned and I have paid them almost $500

Sounds like you either have a very complicated tax return or are trying to claim more than your fair share. As for the interested earn, this should have been automatically included via your bank.
No not at all. Tax 30 mintes allows by this H&R Block manager who had booked in 3 other opeke all at the same time.. This led to mistakes on their side not mine. This is pprro service that has allowed me to go to a proper account
Hi, I have done my own tax online through H&R Block for about 5 or 6 years now. Every year I just pay on the spot when I finish. This year I was travelling and didn't have my card so I just got it taken out of the return. Through mygov and the ATO portal I can see the money was sent back to them 10 days ago. I am yet to see anything in my account. Is this normal? For them to hold the money for almost two weeks? Seems irregular.
I'm a t.p.i. pensioner Veteran,I'm going to lose part of my service pension, to much money in my account is there away around it. Thank you.
