This review is about the product and not any dealings with Hafele directly. Our builder's kitchen company (Viision) use Hafele componentary/mechanisms etc in their kitchens. This is our third house where we have had a brand new kitchen. The kitchens in our previous 2 houses had Blum components. I am basing this review on a comparison between… Read more

the workings of the two brands.

I prefer Blum hands down.

We have mostly drawers in our current kitchen, pantry and robe and to a lesser degree, shelving/cupboards etc.

All doors and drawers have "soft" close mechanisms. Note, not self close, but "soft" close.

The mechanisms on our cupboard doors, 1 year into our new house are working fine.

The mechanisms on our drawers (we have lots of drawers) are for the most part working as the should but atleast half a dozen are not.

They don't shut fully, even when a suitable push is given. Bearing in mind, they are soft close and not self close as I've been reminded on the 2 or 3 subsequent visits by Viision to assess the situation. (Maintenance staff have been great.)

I never experienced this niggle in our 2 previous kitchens that both had Blum components.

I've been instructed how to "reset" the mechanisms, such that the drawers shut completely; however, not something I would have expected to be doing ongoing, as is the case.

As well as this some of the mechanisms are making a squeaky kind of noise once almost fully retracted.

Further, our drawers are somewhat lacking, perhaps our oversight but would have expected better, in terms of their functionality. That is, if our drawers have an internal height of say 20 centremetres, the top half of the drawers are more or less unusable as the sides of the drawers are only 10 centremetres such that any loose items above that height fall out of the drawers. Ok, maybe our oversight but seriously and didn't encounter this previously.

First world problems perhaps but it came with a cost and wasn't free.

I'm over raising the issue just as Viision are over attending to it.

The soft close mechanisms in our prefab bathroom vanities have not once failed (probably Blum!).

If only Hafele products were as reliable as Blum.

I want to report the fantastic after sales service I've received from Hafele. We bought a house already fitted with a Hafele kitchen including twin sink. Kitchen is about 10 years old and of course I have no invoice. I enquired directly to Hafele about replacement parts for the sink strainers that no longer seal and Hafele sent new strainers… Read more

free of charge. And we can still buy matching handles to suit the additional cabinet we've had installed. I am impressed by both the quality of the kitchen and the great after sales service. Hafele hasn't asked me to provide a review, I just think such good service deserves a shout out.

Overall customer experience with Hafele appauling - buy elsewhere!! – The quality of the Hafele products may be reasonable but the overall customer experience and level of customer services is just appalling. I bought 5 sets of 450mm MIO pullout pantry drawers tried to install them only to be found out that they don't come with base drawers despite the images on the website showing the full product that has a base.… Read more

When I called customer service their company line was to say that the bases need to be sourced separately but no solution how to do this. When I pressed and insisted how to source this I was placed on hold and the customer services representative came back to advise that the answer from her technical support was to: "Just go to Bunnings buy some MDF board and then when you know the measurements they will cut to size". Sorry, a large multi-national company like Hafele cannot just fob of an end customer and the hand that feeds them with a not my problem resolution like this. Lesson to be learnt here is I won't buy Hafele products again and I encourage everyone else to do the same.

Amazing service and large range of solutions – We just had a new kitchen installed and now for the fun part....the drawer inserts! I went into the showroom as I like to put it all together before buying, and sometimes a website can be overwhelming with all the different things they have, and you're trying to remember what you need. Susanne at the showroom (Melbourne) was INCREDIBLE. She spent… Read more

so much time running back and forth, trying to help us get the perfect fit for our odd-sized drawers, and totally understood what was important to me and doing what she could to make it happen. I am such a fusspot - I even give myself a headache at times!! - and I didn't want even a 1mm difference in size for my drawer organisation solutions, as a snug fit was important to me, and she totally understood. I had to rush out after about an hour of Susanne going back and forth to help us out, and she said that I can leave and she'd keep looking into it and get back to me with a solution. And she did just that within a couple of hours.I have just placed my order now and I get to pick up tomorrow morning.

We are beyond happy with the service we got from Susanne at the Hafele Dandenong South Showroom. We'll be back!

The best service I have ever received – Four years after my kitchen was renovated, one of the drawer slides malfunctioned. The manufacturer, Hafele, replaced the slides. However, after a month, it faulted again, I took the whole drawer to them. The staff there were absolutely fantastic. From the front counter staff (my apologies for forgetting her name!) to Brett the rep. They could not have done any more for me, thank you so very much.

Hopeless support – Hafele costs an arm and a leg and they are hopeless with support on defects and maintenance. We spent more than 6 months getting maintenance to our doors once a few years ago and then it cost us over $1000 for very minor stuff. Atm we’ve been waiting months to book in a date for further maintenance as the doors are not operable. Seriously factor this into any purchase considerations as the sliding doors do stop working and need maintenance .

Overpriced made in China products – Hafele no longer sells products from Germany, all their products are sourced from China just like all the other hardware stores. Hafele products are overpriced and the same product can be bought elsewhere cheaper. Never again........... sorry Show details

Clothes dryer parts non existent – I have a three year old dryer and the door hinge broke. I contacted Hafele but they advised that they do not have any hinge spare parts. They contacted their supplier who simply said that they would not provide the part as it was a once off order. It is unbelievable that a company operating in Australia cannot supply spare parts for their appliances. I am forced to purchase a new dryer but I certainly would not touch another Hafele product.

Worst Customer service – I contacted Hafele to organise a repair on my under bench corner unit, the door was about to fall off. i spoke to a lady that sent me a service request number on the 12th of Jan 2023. today is 11th April 2023........ nothing. I have spoken to several people that all say, 'it's terrible, we are soooo sorry' and 'Rose' will get back to you. Then… Read more

the cyber-attack happened... so I had a lady ring me a few times to tell me the attack was still affecting the system and they would call me soon. wow... and here we are still 4 months in and the door is barely hanging on. If there was another place in Adelaide that fixes these doors, I've no doubt it would have been done. I'm waiting on a call back from Rosa today, I can't get hold of the Adelaide store to see if the tradesman is hiding in a cupboard or taken extended leave... no idea.. worst company I've ever dealt with

absolutely shocking Customer service – after waiting 3 weeks for a delivery of an in stock Sink, I get told today that it will only be delivered end of next week. There has not been any attempt of communication whatsoever. Everyone is just using the fact that their system got hacked as an scapegoat. If there is a problem with the system, then you have to make sure you communicate with your clients and inform them of the details.

No customer service – If you order the incorrect product they will not refund you. No customer satisfaction with this company and I will not recommend them to anyone. They dont want the customer to be happy. They dont even answer the phone, its always busy!!

Worst After Sales Customer Service – Hafele doesn’t have after sales customer service nor technician. The fridge is broken just after 2 years. Hafele doesn’t know what to do because they don’t have after sales customer service nor nominated technician who can service their brand. They don’t want to pick up calls and emails. They will tell you if it’s broken just buy a new one. … Read more

Hafele is not a well known brand for appliances. When it is broken, no technician wants to come over to service. Better buy a well known brand for your appliance. Stay away from Hafele.
